Welcome Jill, The re-doing a shuttle bus sounds exciting, please keep us posted. We just love pictures. What an ambitious project. Have you tried RV salvage yards? They would have a wealth of items for your project. Don't be afraid to jump in anywhere. Linda

Welcome. I too am thinking of buying a full size van and converting it to a small Class B type TV for myself and two dogs. I hope you will post your adventures, ideas and such while you are working on yours. I sure would love to have some ideas from those who are dong it.

Welcome aboard. Your imagination will be the only point to slow you down. Even on chairs...they don't HAVE to come from the RV direction. Just be aware of size and weight. Light is good. At least you won't be able too complain to some nameless RV designer for not including features you want. Good luck. I admire your technical skills already!

Hi Jill and welcome to the forum. Too bad you live so far from Quartzsite (sp?), I've read quite a few people get new stuff for their RV's there and sell their old stuff. Also, I've heard that IKEA has a good selection of compact, light stuff that may work for you. Just some ideas...

Welcome. I'm already in awe of your converting a van. How do you go about making sure you have water, toilet, heater, etc. I can't even imagine all the work involved. Best of luck and keep us posted, hopefully with pictures.

how exciting, what size is your shuttle van? I had an old van that was outfitted for
camping and had redone it myself. It was totally paneled inside and I wanted to get
the "guy" look out of it so I wallpapered it with fabric, a fuzzy corduroy as a matter
of fact. Put in a wall at the head of the bed, then the closet and behind that was
my porta potti. The passenger side of the vehicle was a cabinet with a sink I put in
on the end. The only other thing I wish I had on it was an awning. Had electricity,
my propane, running water, heat and a fan vent. No a/c but I really didn't need it in
Colorado. I put in new carpeting as well but if I had to do it all over again I'd put in
linoleum. My two front seats were both swiveling captains chairs, and I used an oak
nightstand that I cut the back out and it was fitted over the doghouse as my dinette
area, the little drawer served as catchall. Wow, I really miss my van

I, too, will really look forward to seeing your van/bus conversion! I once had a VW bus I turned into a camper in the 60s, but it was very primitive! My toilet was a pee bucket, and my water was in jugs! I had no heat and no AC, but had a comfy bed, some storage units I built, a closet I built, and that was about it! My stove was a Coleman gasoline stove, and my lights were lanterns. I had more fun in that bus than I have had on the roads before or since!

I'm not far to the west,.... over here in the Adirondack Mts. ... well actually on the eastern slope of them about 10 miles inland from Lake Champlain.

I'll be interested to see pics as you fix up your van. should be a fun project.
