Meet Marymac

Postby retiredhappy » Mon May 10, 2010 9:09 am

Marymac got to Silver City in the early evening after driving in a whole lot of wind. We got her hooked up went into town for dinner. Its always so much fun to meet one of the forum ladies. This was her maiden voyage in her TT and she did just fine as soon as we got her hands unclenched from the wheel. I remember my first trip - I thought my hands were going to be permanently attached to the steering wheel.

Pink wings at that!

And yes, I had several white-knuckle trips as well. Marymac, just know it's more than okay to pull off during high winds. I'll pull off at a rest stop or parking lot and nose the rig into the wind. THEN I'll turn on the radio or CD player, pull out a book, stretch out and relax (or nap) and wait it out. That's the beauty of having my house on wheels.

Enjoy your visit and congratulations on your maiden voyage!

What a great first trip. I'm sure Marymac was a little less stressed, knowing she would have you there to help her out and help her gain her confidence. And she got a flamingo wine glass to boot!

Hmmmm, the glass looks empty. After a white knuckle trip - would have thought Karen would have presented it full :) Or did it get emptied that fast?

Glad to see the 2 of you - and glad that first trip is under your belt, Mary. Things will just get easier and easier. Really - especially if you don't sweat the small stuff (or even the big stuff).

I've been there, done that! And then once you get your fingers off the wheel, it seems to take hours before you can straighten them again!

Wow, great job. Reading about your trip through all the wind and such it giving me inspiration to put my fears aside and get the darn RV and start going. Hey Karen, if I come to TX someday will you take me to WalMart and tell me that I need this and that..... :)
