MONDAY---6 TO GO FOR ME!!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

MONDAY---6 TO GO FOR ME!!

Postby Nasoosie » Mon May 10, 2010 4:01 am

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

After today, I have just 6 more Mondays of getting up at 4:30 in the dark for school!

It's about 26 degrees F. here this morning, but at least the horrendous wind of the past two days seems to have blown itself out. With all the apple trees in Chazy in full bloom, the family who owns the world's largest McIntosh orchard in the world, my kids' grandmother's sister's family, was bracing for the predicted cold weather last night, as it could have wiped out this year's entire apple crop. I guess they will find out soon enough how much damage was done. I suspect my lilacs will be frozen in their tiny little buds, only to never open and eventually drop off. And the blueberry crop, which budded extra early this year due to our recent warm weather, might be also be lost.

I have a mouse in my live trap under the kitchen sink again this morning, which I will have to release a mile down the road on my way to school. That's number two in the past two weeks----they are awake and moving around around again now, looking for any little nooks and crannies in my house to get in and warm up! I will have to go around with my steel wool again today and try to plug any holes I am aware of as perhaps the stuffing blew out. I also left my front doors open during the nice hot spell we had a couple of weeks ago, and I am sure a wayward mouse or two was able to just walk right in! (.....set right down, and Baby, let their hair hang down!)

Our student who was suspended last week for attacking another of our students will be back this week. We will now need a one-on-one person with him at all times, I am sure---including his trips to the bathrooms. Oh joy!

My daughter and I spent a nice Mother's Day traveling in my truck to her grandma's yesterday, bringing a chicken meal from Kentucky Fried Chicken for us all to share. It was truly spring down there in the valley, with no snow whatsover, green grass, lilacs in bloom, apple blossoms everywhere----but so windy it was nearly impossible to get out of her kitchen door. Good quality time with my daughter in the truck as well as a nice visit with Mema. My Oregon daughter had called while I was gone and left a message on my answering machine, but was out when I tried to return the call. My son also called, so it was a nice day keeping in touch with kids for me. Son is still waiting for another price quote after the results of the owner's new appraisal come in on Tuesday. Although they have been looking at other properties, nothing has compared to this one they love.

Coffee is hot now, and is doing its best to wake me up and warm me up. I guess I need to order another filling of my fuel tank with kerosene, as I am still needing my heater. I was hoping to avoid having to do that, but oh well. Stop in and tell us about your day. Kath in Oklahoma, be watchful for torndao activity today that the news just warned about.

Happy Monday to us all.

Happy travels!

Morning, everyone!

Soos, I use copper wool instead of steel wool...doesn't rust! I found it at Wally World.

And look, last year's mouse decided to come visiting again this year. He's kinda pissed cuz it was a L O N G walk from where you dumped him last year!

Morning all...

We have the mice issue too, the 4 legged cat is trying hard to keep up. We have 2 cats, our female is the only hunter. The male runs from mice. I miss our other male that passed away last Sept, we had him for 14 years. He was a fine mouser.

Spent the morning on the phone with Tri To Care....aka military healthcare..it really is Tricare...but some of us renamed it.

You see Kodie is on medication that she started in January. We were having issues with billing and the specialist she has been seeing for 4 years. Some things changed and then he was no longer contracted. So once we figured out issue out. His office opted to redo the paperwork and get re-certified to be a contracted provider. So they started that in Feb, we canceled March appt..then had to cancel the April appt. We did find out while trying to decide rather or not we had to cancel the April one...that he the new contract would be in place May 1st ( no back dating to cover the April 24th appt).

So I wait til May 1st, call K's dr and have him submit a new referral...get it in the mail..only to see that it has Children's Hospital (there was changes there on how the DR who work out of private practice bill..it use to be billed under the umbrella of Children's..but it no longer is and Dr bill separately from Childrens..thus the issue)

So I call Tri To Care this Am..to get it changed over to the correct address/Tax ID #. They tell me..under the correct # he is non-network. To which I say...no according to Triwest-Tacoma Contracting Division, his contract started May 1st. NOPE!! that is not what their system says..so the specialist will have to call the Tacoma office and found out when he is contracted. So I call the specialist office..they tell me the person handling this is not in, but they will look up the contract. They look it up and say..we have it in our system that effective May 1st we are contracted provider.

So needless to say we have now had to cancel the appt for tomorrow...while we try and get it all straightened out. I am out of the house and do not have the Tacoma ## with me. So I will have to wait til I get home to make more phone calls.

I told DH come 2014...I will start a gov't healthcare navigating the system consulting service...and get rich...LOL. They are not the easiest to deal with...I have managed to win many times...even getting second level denials..appealed and covered. Honestly I think I know more about it then some of the customer service people I have talked to at their office.

Have to take the Collie to the groomers..and then do some shopping when DS is finished up here at the tutor's house.
I was hoping to finish up a scrapbook this afternoon, but will be on the phone instead.

The funny side of this...the office f/u visit would be what 50-100 bucks. Yet the medication they approved and are covering that she needs the f/u visits for is expensive...I do not know how, as I only see the co-pay costs. Other parents who have their children on the same medications..says it is $10,000-30,000/month for HGH.

Late again, as usual!

Am VERY glad that golf got cancelled tonight! Cold, windy and rainy out. I was going to go anyways even tho I am still not feeling all that great yet. So very happy when I found out it was called off! Now I can relax and hunker down under the blanket on my couch! (No heat, they turned it off for the season, so I have the oven on with the door open and it is starting to warm up in here now).

I also got a call from another Great Clips today, one that I had dropped off a resume with last Friday. They are anxious to interview me and will be calling back tonight to set something up for possibly Wednesday! I guess I better clarify that it is full-time before I go thru all that again for nothing! It is located in a nice little river town called Chaska, about 10 miles south of me.

Steve bought a pair of struts for my car, so now I need to get ahold of the guy who fixed the leak in Bikerchic's RV, and have him install them for me. He said he would do it for $40 versus my regular mechanic who wanted to do it for $150.

So maybe things are finally going to start turning around for me. I better not count me chickens quite yet, tho...

UPDATE>>> I have an interview with the manager and GM of that Great Clips on Wednesday afternoon! And it IS full-time! Yay!

We got 3 inche of snow here on Saturday, but it melted rathter than sticking to the ground except for a light layer at daybreak. But downright cold. And here too, the farmers and cherry growers are losing crops. My lilac bush has had it I think. My apple blossoms, what there is of them, look like they are done too. Probably no apples this year. It's been so dry this sprng up till these past couple of weeks, that the trees and grass are having a hard time of it. Now we get the mositure and now it's too cold. I want my warm weather, I want to sit out on my deck, I want to enjoy summer, I want.......

Barbie...I sent you a reply PM, but you answered my questions on here ;) I'm so glad another GC is interested in you! I hope it is full time. Be careful using that oven for heat! If we were closer I would lend you a space heater. My mom gave me a real nice one that she doesn't use. I've been using my little one, but will try out hers next winter. It seems pretty fancy, with an ionizer and thermostat. She couldn't find the manual so will have to see if I can find it online. I'm glad you didn't have golf so you can stay in and keep warm ;) I'm looking at my pictures of our mini golf adventure in my Polaroid photo frame. What a fun time!

Yucky weather here today :( Windy, cold, and rainy! Took us all morning to clean the comfort stations and shelters. Monday is the day we foam the comfort stations (restrooms) and hose down the picnic shelters. Got two of the shelters done, but it was raining pretty good by then so we skipped the hosing part of the last two shelters. There was a guy tying lures in the last one, anyway.

Took Rags for a couple of long walks today when it wasn't raining. The wind was tough to walk against, though. I cut up the rhubarb my niece let me pick at her farm yesterday. Had enough for 2 pies, so I bagged it and stuck it in the freezer. I boiled some of the farm fresh eggs my niece gave me and had one on my salad tonight...Yum! Need to look online at trucks and jobs before I have to go lock up the recreation area.
Linda, Rags, and Brutus full-timing it in our 2017 Winnebago Micro Mini, Thumbelina.
