PAYDAY, JEANSDAY FRIDAY!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

PAYDAY, JEANSDAY FRIDAY!

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Very cold this morning, at 35 deg. F., but nothing falling from the sky at the moment. The possibility of snow seems rational today, however, as is predicted for the weekend. Molly and I stayed inside the house again last night. I will need to put some heat on in the trailer so we can stay out there tonight. Tomorrow I will be going to the 80th birthday party of a friend, and might stay in my truck camper tomorrow night for that event. What I will do for heat out in that is to be decided. My propane buddy heater would heat it just fine, but I don't know if I want to go to sleep with that on. I'll work on those decisions after I get back from school today. My sleeping bag I have out there is good for 25 below zero, so I know I won't freeze no matter what I do!

It looked like an interesting day for the Dow money market yesterday! Sure am glad I don't have any such funds invested anywhere to worry when that happens. It's looking this morning as if a typo, making a quote of Millions into Billions, might be the trigger for the precipitous plunge in values!

It's payday again, one of my last few as an employed teacher, and Friday and jeans day, so I am happy. Still have to pay a couple of bills online and take a bath, so this will be short this morning. Stop by and tell us about your day and anything you are thinking about. Coffee is ready, and I am making a new pot now so I can fill up my thermal mug for school. Happy Friday!

Happy Friday, everyone!

It's a beautiful day here in Southern CA today, with temps going to the high 70s-low 80s. And I'm playing hookey. :) I have company here & we're going to have a great time geocaching and playing along the coast. Can't ask for more than that!

It's early here still -- Jed doesn't get that I'm not going to school so he still expects breakfast at 6:00. I can move his mealtimes back a bit during the summer, but then it's so hot that I usually get up, get him fed & then take a walk before 7:00. Then I come home and take a nap. Works for both of us -- he gets his walk & I get to sleep a while longer. Anyway, I'm up enjoying the quiet and looking forward to breaking 200 caches found! If you've never tried it, geocaching is a delightful way to be outside & find places you might not otherwise visit.

Hope everyone's day is pleasant!

Pictures, please.....have a great day!

I'm working on Wanderin' Star's screens, since I'm homebound. They have gaps and let bugs in. So I've taken them off to clean thoroughly, then going to try to put velcro all around to fasten to the window frame and see if that helps. They needed a good cleaning anyway.

Also rearranged outside compartments to make room for Esprit ...she fits nicely and can travel with me. I often camp where there is water.

I've been researching a diet to lower cholesterol....to find out what I can eat. I've been avoiding most anything remotely unhealthy and have lost all the weight I want to...realized I'm probably not eating enough...but what? Found this one and was delighted to discover I could be eating some breads and pasta (whole grain). I'd been avoiding cholesterol, fat, and carbs.

I plan to ask my cardiologist about it next week when I go....or see what he recommends. I can follow a plan, if I have a plan....especially if my life is a stake.

Share your fun with us today.

It is raining today and cold. We are suppose to get some snow overnight! Yuck! Was hoping to not see anymore of that! Hopefully, I won't have to see any again for a long time (except on the mountain peaks in California!)

Normally, it is jeans day for me too, but I had to dress up for my interview this afternoon. Wish me luck! SO hoping I get it! That will be one more duck lined up for my future plans to CA!

Still feeling yucky today. Always seem to feel worse in the mornings and then better as the day goes on tho.

Have a good day ya'll!

Thanks for the link, Liz - very similar to one I had saved on my old computer, but good to save and pay attention.

Since I won't cut out my ice cream, most of it is low fat that I buy - and I'm so used to it now, that it tastes just as good to me.

Otherwise, my main snacks are fruit and more fruit. And I try to eat lots of vegies.

But I do cheat - and eat junk I shouldn't - need to cut that out more. I haven't had to worry yet about cholesterol, but have had high triglicerides - so sometimes have to watch what fruits and vegies I eat - that's what's been hard for me.

TGIF!! HELLO SISTAHS!

We are 'home' at the Lodge. Boy so they still have snow up here. Kelly has taken a couple pictures and is gonna take a couple more. When she gets them into her laptop I will post them. The 5'er that we are gonna be using for the next few weeks was not ready when we got here yesterday so we spent the night in one of the rooms. Good dang thing we had stopped in Kanab to buy our meat cause I picked up some tortellini salad and a wonder roast chicken. That's what we ate for our supper last night. Boss has let me know that the 5'er is now all ready for us to move into. I will be so glad when the used park models they have coming get here! It's gonna be a tite fit for Kelly and I in the 5'er. The original fridge in the 5'er doesn't work so they have a small dorm style fridge in there. The freezer is tiny so we had to put our meat in one of the freezers here in the Lodge. I put first dibs on the park model that they are gonna put in right behind the bosses place. We are hoping by doing that, that we will be able to better pick up the wifi signal. I really don't want to spend that much time in the Lodge just to play on the laptop. I would much rather be able to be comfy at home and play.

Ok, I really need to get my butt off the laptop and back to the room we spent the night in to group up what all we carried in last night. Then we can get moved in to the 5'er. In a way I dread doing that as all of the dishes and pots n pans we had with up need to all be washed before we can use them. And then we can start 'our' jobs here!! I did notice that the elevation is bothering me a little but not as badly as last year when we first got here. So that is one GOOD thing! ;)

Hope everyone has a super great day. Ya'll stay safe please!

Love to all

I know, I know, it's late again! We need an afternoon coffee thread (how about a "happy hour" thread?! ;) )

Well, I went to my job interview, and don'tcha know, they are just looking for part-time. It said 'full time position' on the internet site I checked on the other day. Part-time just won't cut it. But I had 5 copies of my resume and Great Clips job applications with me, so I drove around and dropped off the rest of them to other Great Clips locations in the nearby suburbs south of me. I might do that on Sunday with the locations in the northwestern suburbs too. Somebody must be looking for full-time help! That was a disappointment. And the manager didn't tell me that until the interview was almost over. She went on and on about all the benefits of full-time, etc, then later said the position was part-time and couldn't guarantee it would go to full-time in the near future. That won't pay my bills! Well, hopefully, I will hear something from another shop.

I think it is just about time for some warm chocolate chip cookies and milk!

Awwwww.......so sorry to hear about that, Barbie. I guess they were hoping you would just acquiesce and grab at the job in desperation, even though the ad and info about the job was incorrect. Congrats for sticking to your guns! As you say, there are still other shops out there to explore and expose to your talents, so I have my fingers crossed for you!

Liz, you did a great job, finding room for your kayak. Looks really neat in there and will be really nice for your travels. Also, want to thank you for the link to the diet you posted. I have some problem, finally in that area, been so lucky for so long, that when he told me this yr. I was starting to have a problem, do something about it, took me a little bit for it to sink in my skull, so thank you. This will help me alot. I had an idea of most of it, but then in a few areas, was goofing up.
