Thanks, guys, for all your good wishes. Didn't win anything this time and the pool was FRIGID! But I had 2 free breakfast buffets and 2 free dinner buffets along with my one free night (pay for 2 nights) at the Riverside's RV park! I'm so glad I found that Quartzsite coupon in my jacket pocket!

Unfortunately, I came home yesterday to discover someone had broken into my house. Smashed a front window and none of my neighbors heard a thing. After the 4 hour drive home, I spent the rest of the day with the police. The thieves took my new printer, but left the computer (too old for them, I guess) and just about every speck of jewelry I owned. Good thing I had my favorites in the RV with me! Also took my digital camera, GPS, and all the power tools in one of the sheds. Guess they used bolt cutters to remove the paddlelocks. Also took my laundry detergent, Oxyclean, and a bottle of Clorox. Nice to know your neighborhood druggie is clean. They also took my payment book for the RV. Do you suppose they will make my payments for me?

Some homeless people heard the dirtbags hiding some of the stuff behind a local AM/PM and when they checked out what was left they found prescriptions with my name on the bottles. They called my son to go check it out, so we have recovered some of the stuff, but not all. Discovered it's a guy down the street and he's frantically ditching stuff before the police get to him, but I'm afraid he already hocked or sold the best of the jewelry and electronics. He's making a lot of trips in and out of his yard, so he probably has someone else's stuff, too, and by the time the police go there the house will be empty! I called the station early this morning to tell them we managed to get some of the things back and the detective is supposed to come check it out. It's going on 5 hours now, so I don't expect any miracles.

Some birthday, huh?

Oops ... I'm late on this ... Happy Birthday Pooker!

EDIT -- oops ... this is what happens when you don't read the previous post!

Evie, I'm so sorry you go burgled. Such a sense of violation. I hope you get back the things that are important to you.

Oh Evie, that's horrible. I sure hope they can catch him with at least some of the stuff. It must be terrible to know who did it and know what he's doing and not be able to stop him.
