The only thing I can think of is her electricity is out and she doesn't have cell phone coverage where she lives. I'll let yall know.

Please keep us posted, Vickie...and if you get in touch, please let her know we're thinking/praying about her.

I just spoke to the little Dufus, they're fine. She can't make any phone calls (or so she says  ) but can receive calls. Electricity is on. Her internet is DSL and she hasn't been able to get back on since this morning. Needless to say, she's going nuts! I'm sure George and Abby are more than ready for the internet to be back!

Thanks, Vickie! And Mitch, when you get back on I will be watching for some info on what's going on in your neck of the floods.

I've been a bit out of the "loop" as far as the news is concerned these past few aays, but I too want to express my concerns for those in TN. Hope all is well now for you. That indeed is frightening and althought I live up in Northern Michigan where our biggest concerns are usally snowstorms and cold, we do ocassionally get some rought weather once in awhile, but nothing like "Tornado Alley" and the southern states get. We do get some river flooding if there is too much rain, usually in spring when the ice dams form. But otherewise we average perhaps one tornado every couple of years and they don't amount to much. But we did have a late afternoon/evening event in October two years ago where a front came through and spawned 5 tornados in a matter of abut 4 hours. Needless to say, it was a very nerve wracking time listenng to the TV and weather radio giving off storm/tonado warmings one after another. Weather service said it was unprecedented for us to have that kind of weather here. Plus the intensity of what storms we do get seems to be getting stronger. Lighning storms are getting very intense and both last fall and this spring (Friday) we have had buildings struck by lightning. It's been very wild.

We are ok here the storms passed with no damage and not as much rain as expected. Saw the water on the news last night in Nashville. Interstate 24 is closed!
