In that pic - if you see the golf cart on the boardwalk - the waves got up to the floorboards of it on that surge.
This next pic, Rose (one of the ladies I went down to the beach with to take these pics) was standing on the dry road (like me) as the wave started coming in behind her:
And Tony, one of the gents here - standing in the water when a wave came in - not much further out from where I had been standing to take the pics looking back to the boardwalk - this wave was higher than the one that I was in (which almost knocked me over cuz I was concentrating on taking the pictures!) First, you see him facing out - with the first wave coming over his feet:
Now he starts walking BACK to the boardwalk - and this is the next wave coming over him (and the one behind him got him wet almost to his waist):
And, two idiots - one let his son play in these waves with a waterboard - we were appalled. And another let 2 of his dogs off leash to go running out - if the wave that came over Tony or one that came over me and Rose had come over the little chihuahua when it was out there - it might not have made it back. People are STUPID. I did not take pics of that.
