Brrr! Cold and rainy here in IA. I hate bundling up :( At least I didn't wish I was outside today when I had to be in orientation. Got together with a bunch of the contractors for dinner at a diner. It was nice getting to know the other sub contractors in my area. Still don't know for sure when I will be in my site over there. For now I'm in a temporary site in a campground. Class again in the morning. Off to take Rags out then to bed!

Finished orientation and had some training from my bosses. Not so nervous now. Helped to see them in action. They are very laid back and make me feel at ease. Have been enjoying some relaxation time in Myrtle tonight. Rags is too! He told me he needed to go out earlier so nice to not have to go out late. The moon was beautiful in the perfectly clear sky. Will probably get cold tonight, but 70's tomorrow! Will go pick up my motorcycle at my mom's tomorrow. Will try to enjoy riding as much as I can before DXH sells it  May stop in at the car dealership I looked at recently for a little toad truck.

Keep the fire going, girls! I'm going to bed!!!

I'm so glad its finally friday, but I am just so upset with myself. My daughter called
last evening and said she just wanted to remind me about her graduation on saturday.
If she had not called I would have totally spaced it out and missed my daughters
graduation. How could I  :( have forgot that?! Too much on my plate right
now with things to remember. Stress can wreek havoc on the brain.
Opened up the fridge this morning to get the dog food topper out and it didn't seem
cold. I opened the freezer and sure enough, everything was thawed. :( This has
happened before but after shutting it down and letting it rest it would kick back on.
Didn't happen this time. So, get to throw out everything in there  and then
think about a solution.
Breezy and cool conditions here for the last day of April, was actually really cold this
morning and I had to put my jacket on with a liner. So the campfire will feel good,
and I'll just toss in another log and stir things up a little.

Hope that you can get the frig fixed without taking out a 20yr loan ...and am so glad that your daughter called and reminded you about tomorrow. Go have a wonderful time celebrating her accomplishments and don't worry about the smaller things.... Life is just too short!

Stress does that to me too...and hormones. Maybe a little gingko biloba? Maybe you're due for a massage! Once you get the fridge and graduation behind you, things will be better: -)

I got my receipts off to the dealership and my road service for reimbursement for the repair on Myrtle. Picked up the rest of my laundry and some more things from Mom's garage. Stopped at a dealership to see if they had any small towable pickups. Nothing. I returned the rechargeable leaf blower after trying it. Didn't have enough power and the charge didn't last long. Will have to give in and buy a gas powered one. Will use it a lot at work, I think. I have an electric one, but will have to carry around a cord. We'll see.

Better take Rags out and get ready for bed. Have to get up early for my first day of work! At least the weather is supposed to be nice: -)
Glad to see the fire still burning. ..thought it may go out: -(

It's been a long day! I worked for a couple hours and then went to go pick up a relative of mine, Sandra. I drove us up to visit my cousin, Linda, who has terminal cancer and only has a couple months left. We were both surprised at how well she looked and that she was in a pretty decent mood, all things considered. She finally stopped taking all the chemo since the cancer has spread throughout her body and the chemo was doing nothing but making her sick. We stayed for a couple hours and had a nice visit with her and her daughter. Herand her husband's home is surrounded by a pine forest so they have a lot of wildlife around there. They put out a feeding station for the deer just outside their picture window and three young deer came to eat while we were there. I sure wish I had my camera!
After driving thru heavy rain and dealing with nasty, impatient truckers, I dropped Sandra off and went back to work for a few hours. Tonight I have been getting things ready for the Walk tomorrow morning, including giving Moxy a bath. It is suppose to be nice tomorrow other than very breezy. I got $100 in donations! Yay! I think I get a free t-shirt for that.
I will let you all know how it went and post pics! I'm off to bed! Very tired, impatient and crabby tonight! (Maybe some Baileys and hot cocoa is in order!)
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

a somewhat busy day today....DH had an appointment with a dr went to that out to supper then to son's house took too long to get there to be able to stay and help him but will go over tomorrow and help out then went and picked up one of our gd's she turned 6 in March and wasn't able to be with her for her birthday so we picked her up at the zoo (kindergarten field trip) and took her to the Living Planet Aquarium. It isn't one of the big bubble aquariums but a lot of smaller ones and larger ones and is really nice. And our granddaughter seem to enjoy herself. DH had had a bad cold all week so this pretty well worn him out so he flaked out of going with me to take her home which is 40 miles or so North!! Couldn't talk dd into going with me so took the little one home visited a bit and then came home in the rain! Felt guilty don't get to spend as much time as I'd like with our oldest and her family ...I think I need to find some time next week to spend sometime with her....going to be a balancing act for sure.
If we believe the weatherman tonight thru Sunday we are suppose to have rain mix with snow yuck

so tired, going to get to bed early. Graduation was great! So proud of my daughter.
The graduation was at Chase Field and seeings how they are having demonstrations
downtown and also hyping up for Cinco deMayo, it added to the crowd down there.
I opted to not worry about parking and parked at the park-n-ride a couple miles
from me and rode the light rail into downtown. It stops right in front of the ball
park (Chase Field). There were many others on the train that had the same idea
as me. There were alot of graduates and it lasted about 3 hours. Stopped at McD's
on the way home to grab a bite since there is no food in the fridge, had never
tried their Angus burger so opted for the mushroom and swiss Angus. Couldn't
eat it all so saved the rest for a snack which I just finished moments ago. So off
to bed after a quick stir of the coals and tossing in another log. I should sleep
good tonight.

Well, my first day on my work camping job went well! Light load since the recreation area just opened yesterday. Toughest part was getting people to leave in time to lock the gate. The hours are posted at the gate, but they still push it. A group of young people was at he shelter across from my site most of the day and they decided to cook at 9:30! They hacked up some branches that the COE left when they trimmed a tree and used it in the fireplace. Left a mess of wood pieces all over the sidewalk and a huge log in the fireplace. Should be fun to clean up that mess in the morning! May be a good idea to check on some groups better to see what they're up to that I can maybe prevent some of that. It was a beautiful day so we did our afternoon rounds on bicycles. I took Rags with me and he was great: -) I had an offer for some Bosnian food. I told the nice lady that I wasn't hungry, but would love to try it next time they come out. Guess some of the Bosnians used to use the metal picnic tables for a grill to cook goats on: -0. I'm sure that was a fine mess in the morning!

Well, off to bed! Morning comes early for me now. Sweet dreams to anyone still up on here! Keep the fire burning!

Wow, Linda. Sounds like you'll spend as much time preventing messes as cleaning them. Glad Rags enjoys making the rounds with you.

Congratulations to your dd, Ava. Glad the graduation event went well.

Quick post here before going to bed. I am very miserable tonight with this nasty cold. Started coughing and sneezing today after 2 days with a sore throat and headache. Worked til noon at the office job and won't be going in tomorrow since there is no work to do now until Thursday. Had to work at the shop tonight and did 3 haircuts. Now I am making my chocolate chip cookies before loading up on night time cold meds and heading off to bed. I can sleep in tomorrow.
I did call a Great Clips today in a nearby town to talk to the manager there about a job. She is looking for a full-time stylist so I have a job interview with her on Friday afternoon! It is located in a cute little town just south of here on a pretty lake (Waconia). That would be great! I would quit both of the jobs I have now and just work there. My office job will be done in a few weeks anyways so that will be good timing if I get this job! I think it will be easier to transfer to another Great Clips in California from one here, than to try to get into one from the "outside".
I just hope I am feeling better by Friday! The Zycam doesn't seem to be working this time :(
