HERE COMES THE SNOW!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

HERE COMES THE SNOW!

Postby Nasoosie » Tue Apr 27, 2010 4:09 am

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

It is dawning cold (33 degrees F.) and snowy already this morning! There's just a dusting on the ground, so far, but it is snow and not rain. Interesting end of April weather! It was still warm in the trailer, but Molly says this Monitor stove heater in here feels ever so much warmer!

RV dealers are working with the Duro tire company about the deplorable condition of my brand "new" tires they installed in November, so I am hoping I can get those installed before my first camping weekend at the KOA on Memorial Day.

My son and his wife-to-be put an offer on the property they want to buy in FL-----they called me from the place last night via cell phone, while walking around the beautiful property, watching the sunset in the pond! Now it's just a matter of playing a waiting game (and a very short waiting game if they are to qualify for the $8,000 incentive for new home buyers) ) to see if the owners are willing to accept the offer. Like playing chess with LOOOOOONG waits between moves!

I will compose my retirement letter to the school today, and then call NY State to alert them to the fact that I will need to begin to receive retirement checks after July 1st. I am actually doing it! I am RETIRING!!! I can't believe it!

I left my lawnmower with the shop class yesterday, and they will fix it up for me. I dropped the blade off in town, after they removed it, to be sharpened, too. Hopefully, I will get many more good mowing summers with that mower which has always been a good one. (By the way, for those of you who worried about my lifting the mower, I ramped it into my truck on a couple of 2 X 4s!)

I also took another look under the hood of the Kicker when Molly and I walked past it on our afternoon walkabout, and I can easily see the new starter they installed last year. It will be easy for me to rap on it to see if it's the solenoid that needs some 'coaxing' to turn over the starter motor, or not. But I will have to hike that jumper device (heavy) back down there before I try that.

Coffee is hot, so c'mon in and tell us about your day. My truck will have its first drive in snowy road conditions!

Soos, this fall when you are about through mowing put some gas stabilizer in the gas and let it run so it goes through the mower. Every fall I think about doing that and last year I actually did it. This spring the mower started right up and didn't have to go to the shop as usual. Might be a good idea for generators too. I'll have to see what the bottle says.

I'm going to get my hair cut this afternoon. After all the bad hair days at the last camp out I can't stand it any longer. My hair has some natural curl but it has never curled the way I want and the least little bit of humidity and it goes crazy.

Good luck, Martha. I don't know what a good hair day is. Well, I suppose I've had one - but I can't remember it ;)

Nothing much to say here either. But wanted to stop in. Brought in some unhealthy donut holes to share. What can I say? Somedays it's just not worth it to be completely healthy. I'll make sure I get my fruits and vegies in during the day.

November.....errrrrr.....December......WAIT! Another picture I just took!

I guess I will cook inside tonight as I am chilled to the bone and plan to make a wood fire and curl up on the couch to watch the news!

I hope the rest of you are having spring!

WOW!!! It's almost the 1 of May, not supposed to be getting snow now.
I thought it was cold here today with a cold wind and icy feeling rain. Actually think the temps are around 60 but does not feel like it.

I think Denver got dumped on this past week also! Amy? Did you get the snow there?
