When you can’t be on the road, what better place to be than on the water? It’s time to try out my new inflatable kayak on Orange Lake. We’ll put in at Heagy Burry boat ramp, ok?
Image

This is a popular place for fishermen, and several people were here even on a sleepy Monday morning.
Image

Pretty little park.
Image

First we need to inflate the kayak. Took no time at all with the handy foot pump.
Image

Already to go...
Image

And we’re off!
Image

Hope you remembered to put on your PFD. The kayak is called Spree, by Stearns. I love the way she tracks through the water effortlessly. I’ve already named her “Esprit” (espree, French for spirit). Seemed fitting.
Image

I envy people who live by the water. There’s no better place I know of to feel the presence and Spirit of God than while on the water. That’s what I came here for today, to experience the peace of God in this place and to pray....for my friends and family.
Image

Come with me as we drift through the lily pads and see what God will reveal for us today.
Image

Image
Image

Let’s pause here awhile to look and listen.
Image

Do you see the blue dragonfly to the left of the white lily?
Image

There he is.
Image

God has created a whole other garden beneath the surface of the water....it’s why I also like to snorkel....but I guess not here with the gators.
Image

It’s very quiet here, but if you listen awhile, there are a lot of sounds.
Like the song of this red-winged blackbird, adult male, I believe.
Image

An opportunity to practice some birding skills....ahem, I believe this is a red shouldered hawk.
Image

And going out on a limb to say, perhaps it is an adult?....very tentative here
Image

This fellow better hide before he becomes part of someone’s food chain.
Image

Well time to head back to the boat ramp.
Image

“Peace I leave with you,
Image

my peace I give to you;
Image

not as the world gives,
Image

I give unto you.
Image

Let not your heart be troubled,
Image

neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)
Image

Wishing you all the kind of peace that passes all understanding.

Thank you Liz. I certainly do feel peaceful after our journey. Nice Kayak, you should get a lot use out of it. Where will you keep it in Wandering Star? (Please don't change the name) Linda

What a wonderful, relaxing morning you had. Thanks for sharing it with us. (I hope that was shadows or dirt on your left arm and not bruises)

Nope, it was bruises. The drs. all had their way with me last week....and one of the phlebotomists was brutal!

Liz, that was a wonderful journey you took us on.
I almost physically felt the calmness and serenity.

How peaceful Liz, wish I was there with you in my Kayak. I'm not packing mine in the RV to head North because the lawnchairs and crabpots will be in the basement and we will not be going up to Lake Easton to go out on the lake this Summer. As always I love your photo's, Thanks. :D

Thank you for refreshing my spirit, Liz. You capture God's beauty so well.
The expression of the "face" (?) of the first dragonfly picture was priceless and is now my new desktop picture.

how totally peaceful, I have an inflatable canoe but have never had it on a lake
or river, my son used it twice though, makes me want to get it out and make
sure it still holds air.
