When you can’t be on the road, what better place to be than on the water? It’s time to try out my new inflatable kayak on Orange Lake. We’ll put in at Heagy Burry boat ramp, ok?
This is a popular place for fishermen, and several people were here even on a sleepy Monday morning.
Pretty little park.
First we need to inflate the kayak. Took no time at all with the handy foot pump.
Already to go...
And we’re off!
Hope you remembered to put on your PFD. The kayak is called Spree, by Stearns. I love the way she tracks through the water effortlessly. I’ve already named her “Esprit” (espree, French for spirit). Seemed fitting.
I envy people who live by the water. There’s no better place I know of to feel the presence and Spirit of God than while on the water. That’s what I came here for today, to experience the peace of God in this place and to pray....for my friends and family.
Come with me as we drift through the lily pads and see what God will reveal for us today.
Let’s pause here awhile to look and listen.
Do you see the blue dragonfly to the left of the white lily?
There he is.
God has created a whole other garden beneath the surface of the water....it’s why I also like to snorkel....but I guess not here with the gators.
It’s very quiet here, but if you listen awhile, there are a lot of sounds.
Like the song of this red-winged blackbird, adult male, I believe.
An opportunity to practice some birding skills....ahem, I believe this is a red shouldered hawk.
And going out on a limb to say, perhaps it is an adult?....very tentative here
This fellow better hide before he becomes part of someone’s food chain.
Well time to head back to the boat ramp.
“Peace I leave with you,
my peace I give to you;
not as the world gives,
I give unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)
Wishing you all the kind of peace that passes all understanding.
