They make clear duct tape now so that wouldn't look so bad. (I used that on my porch windows to reinforce the plastic and you could hardly notice it.)

I'm more worried about whiplash when he hits the doorframe!

Liz, I've had to deal with big dogs and BIG cone collars many, many times. Both the dogs and the collars are very sturdy. Remember, dogs are very adaptable and will figure out a way to manuver around with it on. Brandy, my first Lab, had to wear one for almost 6 weeks while a ripped toenail tried to heal.

Feeling sorry for them and taking it off can often be more painful in the long run, as they' can re-injure the boo-boo and cost you more money as a result.

Hang in there, Liz. I hope Roe's recovery is uneventful.

Poor Roe is in pain and I'm setting here laughing at the foolishness of all his well wishers. Sure hope it heals fast and this business is all over for him soon.
He does look like he is smiling. I really like that dog and I hurt all over thinking of what he has gone through, you too, Liz. Keep us posted as to his progress.

Take care,
Carol

Nicky is sending some extra loving licks for the paw. He knows from recent experience that that is no fun.

Roe's walking on all 4 now. Still has to wear the cone collar until Monday when he goes back to get the staple out. He will be glad to hold up the foot and look pitiful if you're holding a treat, though. Thanks for asking.
