Barbie & Bikerchic's GTG

I thought I would move last nights post to a new thread here and then I can post updates here as well...

< Linda got here around 3pm and managed to get her RV in a good spot in my parking lot. I think we have talked non-stop since she got here! We took Rags out for a walk on the bike trail and then went out for dinner. We were at the restaurant for I think 3 hours talking. From there, I took her to my dad's house to meet him. He talked non-stop for over an hour. We finally got back here at 11pm! I have to work tomorrow until 2, so she will use the time to walk Rags, do some laundry, etc ,til I get home. Then we will probably head up to Camping World and maybe hit a bar on the lake tomorrow night.

She has a water leak somewhere under her RV that she needs to get looked at so she may end up heading back to Iowa where she bought her RV to get it fixed next week. Otherwise "Myrtle" is looking good! Very nice inside and out! I took pics but left my camera in my car so will post them tomorrow. She loved her house warming gift!

Rags came up to my apartment to meet my critters. Zoey, my cat flew out onto the porch and hid as soon as she saw Rags come in the door! Rags met each of the ferrets and was a little apprehensive about them. Buster was half awake and didn't react much, but Moxy got all excited and kept sniffing Rags. I don't think Rags was too impressed since he couldn't wait to get out the door and leave!

It was really windy today and somewhat nippy, so hopefully it will be warmer and less windy this weekend so we can take our bikes out for a ride and spend some time down by the lake. >

...will post again later tonight! We are off to a rummage sale right now!

Today I had to work at the salon until 2pm. In the meantime, Linda did some laundry and then took Rags for a walk into town, found a rummage sale at a church but didn't have any money with her so when I got home from work, we headed back there to check it out. We both ended up with bags of stuff ($4 per bag) and filled up my car! Good thing I made some good tips today! Then we stopped to eat at a 50's Drive-in Diner. I ran into a guy I know who works on cars and he is going to give me a really great deal to fix my struts on my car. Linda asked him about the water leak on her RV and he is coming over tomorrow evening to look at it and see if he can fix it so she doesn't have to go back to the dealer to have it fixed.

We left the Diner and I drove her around Lake Minnetonka to the cute little town of Excelsior. We stopped at a place called the Bayside Bar and Grill on the lake for a drink. It was a little too chilly to sit on the deck so we sat inside. We spent a couple hours there talking about everything under the sun until the band started and it got too loud. We walked over to Maynards restaurant and bar next door to check that out (also on the lake). Then headed back home. We sat in her RV and talked for a couple more hours. We never seem to run out of things to talk about! We have so much in common, been thru a lot of the same things in our lives, have a lot of the same interests, etc. We get along like we've known each other for ever. Very cool!

Tomorrow we are going to meet up with Laurie and go up to Camping World and Walmart. There is a really cool miniature golf course nearby that we are going to check out later in the day. It is suppose to be a little warmer tomorrow. Today was much less windy than yesterday but still a little cool.

We have been taking lots of pics but I forgot my camera in the car again so I will post them tomorrow evening. She left her computer back in Iowa so I will post both her and my photos on here.

We are just having a really good time getting to know each other and having fun!

PS> I gave her the housewarming gift I got her...one hint, it is pink...will post photos tomorrow!

It's wonderful that the two of you are having a great time and have so much in common. GF weekends are truly chicken soup for the soul! Three of my friends and myself try to escape once a year for a no husband no kids weekend and we always have the best time and come home with a new attitude on life!

Has Linda thought of possibly calling her dealer and telling them that she in on the road and has a water leak? If she forces the issue they just might set up an appointment with a dealer in your area and pay for the repair. ;) We had to do that with our son's Explorer (used but a sixty day warrenty)..he was in college and had a problem with the starter a week after he bought it. I called the local dealer and told them about it and they took care of it. Saved us having to drive 150 miles then tow it home.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

I just posted some pics of Linda's new RV on "Show off your Rig". Will post the rest of our GTG pics here later. We are off to Camping World, Wal-Mart and mini-golf! It is a gorgeous day; sunny, warm and very little wind!

Here are the photos up thru last night. Got a few more today but we spent the whole day shopping! Now we are going to cook dinner in her rig. Hopefully, that guy will stop by soon to take a look at the leak underneath. We didn't get to the mini-golf course but I am trying to talk Linda into staying another day so maybe we can go tomorrow afternoon when I get off work. If she stays tomorrow, she might get together with Laurie while I am at work, since we didn't get a chance to meet up with her today. So hopefully, she'll stick around a little while longer! We just have had so much fun together!

Two wild and crazy women!

Oh, thanks for sharing the pics. Great to see the big smiles on both your faces (and Rags, as well).

We had a nice spaghetti dinner tonight and shared photos of family, friends and fun times. The mechanic came by and found the source of the leak and had it fixed in 10 minutes! Just a loose connection down underneath. So that was a big relief for Linda! I am hoping I talked her into staying another day. She reminds me a lot of my best friend down in Florida. It feels like we have known each other a long time, (maybe we were sisters in a previous life!).

It is late and I am very tired but a good tired! Glad you all liked the pics! If she stays, we will try to get to that mini-golf place tomorrow. It is suppose to be really unique with lots of weird, interesting sculptures built into the course (one supposedly looks like Stonehenge). Will take pics if we go.

I haven't had much time to read the posts this weekend so I'll have to get caught up on all that later this week. I hope everyone is doing good, staying healthy and having fun!

GREAT pictures! Sure do wish I could have been there on those neat-looking docks with y'all! How nice to finally have some idea of what both of you actually look like rather than just trying to figure it out by the teensy little avatar pictures!

Wonderful that the leak was something so trivial and easily fixable! Am running late now, reading all these posts---gotta get moving here!
