Feel better in what way? If healthier, you'd be much better skipping the marshmallows. I sometimes buy cinammon graham crackers and slightly melt dark chocolate on them for a treat. Yummy.

Think it's the dairy in milk chocolate and the acid in chocolate, period....not good for acid reflux. It sucks!

It turned out to be a really nice day today after those storms moved on from this morning. Now, tho, it is terribly windy! Justa howlin' out there!!!

Still trying to find a boat ride for me and Linda for this weekend. Not too many boats in the lake yet, but the docks at my apartment are in already. It's kind of funny since typically, the ice isn't off the lake yet at this time of year. Last year we had no spring and it snowed right into May. So it is great that we have had a very early spring this year! They have already been out spraying for mosquitoes (they use helicoptors and fly over the marshy areas of the lake and drop the chemicals that kill the larvae). The leaves on the trees are already popping out!

I just heard from Naomi's dad and we are going to get together a week from Sunday! Yay!! I can't wait! Now I get to go shopping for her birthday presents (one from me and one from my dad)! She loves horses so that should be easy!

Gotta clear out my camera card so I can take lots of photos this weekend! We'll probably be so busy, we'll forget to take any pics! Not!!

Have a good evening, and if you are in a windy area, hang on to your hat!!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Hi guys.....

I want to thank all of you that welcomed me on the "newbie site". I haven't dropped off the face of the earth. I ruptured my eardrum about two weeks ago.....after urgent care....bleeding out of the ear is never a good sign.....and two more visits to the ENT and another next week.......Anyway, I haven't had time to get to the library and visit the site. the worst part is that the hearing in my left ear is very poor. the prognosis is that it will take about 4 more weeks to see how much I regain. Please keep your fingers crossed.

I hope that I didn't break any "campfire rules". I know that it's too early to a camp fire but it seems a little late for morning coffee.

Just wanted to say "hi".

Laurie

p.s. Barbara Rose ----- I still want to get together!!!!! Hopefully by next week I can hear enough so that we won't have to use sign language!!

Laurie, it's never too early for a campfire! So sorry you had all those problems with your ear, but good to know you are on the mend.

Never to late or too early for campfires. I always see individuals hunkered around a morning campfire still in their PJs with blankets around their shoulders drinking their morning coffee. My step mother has decised to go ahead with her knee surgery but she did decide to go to the Health Care Facility that Herschel, Remi and I have been visiting for the past 4 years since my Dad was taken care of there in 06. I really like the open and friendly atmosphere and how the nurses and staff talk with all the residents and their families...

Need to finish shopping for my clothes needed for my daughter's wedding on the 24th in Charlotte. She has done all the preparation and planning and I get to just arrive and promise not to wear "those boxy jackets ...that you always wore to work with a pin on the lapel." I have been trying to get ideas from Peopleofwalmart.com....they have lots of styles for full figured ladies :o .....but I am thinking that she had other ideas

The dog go to a friends small boarding kennel. Herschel and Remi have never stayed anywhere before. Well that is the purpose of an RV. :) But I checked the place out. The owner is the mother of past 4-Her all grown and left the nest. SHe really individualized her care of the dogs and since Herschel, Remi and Blondie will be together I doubt that they will stress too much. All of them are used to the noise of dog shows and strange dogs...this will just be a little different.

Work is going well and I am dreaming of trips, gtgs and Rallies.....not to mention inflatable kayaks! I bought an Eee Book also several weeks ago hoping to extend the life of my Apple iBook by not having to beat it up as much. I think I will be happier if I pick up a mouse to use with it. I am having trouble adjusting to its pad. The iBook never gave me any problem but the touch is different somehow. I love the 8 hour battery life. Okay I admit I haven't pushed it past 5.....yet!

On to read some more and then hopefully crash tonight. The pollen index in the Cincinnati area if off the charts and when I take stuff to let me breathe and remove the pressure that increases the headaches.....it messes up my sleep cycle.....I have found that once I get tired enough my body just gives up and the next night I will sleep anyway.....

kickin back, stirring the fire, ahhhh relaxation :D
another humpday done and over with, I posted a pic of the flamingo
family in the "bird" thread, it was just a fun day with the party and all.
The puppers are bugging me to come to bed, and they get relentless
sometimes telling me to get off the computer. Gracie reaches up and
grabs my arm and makes me move the mouse, things have ended up
in cyber space many times that way.
I'm outta here
