"The Girls"

Postby Colliemom » Sat Apr 10, 2010 7:01 pm

Here are my "girls". Sassy (8yrs) and Tessa (7yrs in June). They are mother (Sassy) and daughter. Completely opposite in their personalities. Sassy is on the left and Tessa is on the right. This picture was taken at Maple Ridge Resort in Michigannne, MI. in the Upper Peninsula. We were on "spring break" last week up there. [IMG]http:///i904photo

Dang the picture didn't come through. Will have to work on it to get the hang of it. I used to be on a website called Scootriva.com and that was really neat cause you could download directlly from your computer. Made it very easy. But we all must learn new things and on this site we certainly are. Don't turn too short, watch the tree, my pilot went out.......

Okay, thanks to some more advice back up in General Talk, I finally got it. Posted this picture up there, but since this is the Pet section, I'm reposting down here too. This is Sassy (8 yrs) on the left and Tessa (7 yrs in June) on the right. The are mother (Sassy) and daughter. Completelly opposite in their personalities. Sassy being the more high energy, let's go dog, loves to run in the woods and snoop, while Tessa is more laid back, content to just lay around and sleep. But she does love to go wading in lakes, rivers and streams. I call her my "waterbaby". Both dogs weee adopeted around age 5 from a show breeder. They are always looking for "forever" homes for their dogs after the show years are over. Tessa was shown to her Championship title a year before she came to live with me. Sassy was not a show dog but was an 'ambassador" for the breeder she says. Used to sit on the grooming table and shake paws with people and go places with the breeder etc. She like me has that love of the outdoors. Image

Pretty girls. Hats off to your dedication for grooming, too! :) I keep saying that in my next life I am going to fall in love with short hair breeds.

Very beautiful dogs! I want to get the smaller version, the Sheltie, someday, (I know they really aren't related but they look so much alike!).
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

They're really not related? I thought a Sheltie was a miniature Collie...well, duh on me. You learn something new every day. I know they're little yappers.

Shelties (Shetland Sheepdogs) are originally from the Shetland Islands, and Collies are originally from Scotland.

Oh, Barbie (Dew-fus), Vickie (Doo-fus) just needs to pick on people cuz she's mean. Don't even listen to her.
And the only thing I (NOT a ***-fus of any kind) might need to apologize for is for you all having to put up with Vickie.

They are beautiful. I'm so glad you figured out how to share pictures just for them! And, yes, I know all about shedding. My little girl now is small, but sheds enough for a dozen dogs. And it's so worth it for their love, isn't it?
