Friday Morning .. Labor Day Weekend is here !! Yes em' it's the big weekend before us East Coaster have the kids start School..and all hell breaks loose...Gas prices on the rise...of course..and oh yeah the end of the Democrat Convention and on to the Republic Convention.. Joy to this world...now I think ... watching this ...when I want to watch the news....great speeches .. (don't they all sound good ) and then looking at everything going on.... and then you find out the costs of all this...Hey wait.. The Economy is so friggin bad....where's all this money coming from.. and why don't they give it to worthy causes...like helping the poor or programs that are not surviving the cuts...duh.. guess it must take a Rocket Scientist to figure this one out ....oh ok..so I got on a little political debate...I'm sure you all have your feelings on it... To me they all talk the talk but don't walk the walk... yeah they know the price of bread and milk.. I see them in the stores shopping NOT>... on with what's happening in our forum... oh yeah and by the way... when you read this column..do you actually read it or just flash to see if your name is on the listing..(I do try to include you all, if not I catch you another time) just pondering here...cause I know sometimes I ask questions and surely I do look for the answers... oh well...just another one of those wanderings I guess....

Paulette, thanks dear for noticing my wonderful morning yesterday... it sure was enlightening.. but sure glad I didn't have to start it again that way...all dry here :) of course we is suppose to get rain today..and boy do we need it....speaking of which...

Gustav looks like they have him heading into the Gulf and towards Texas and Florida Panhandle... again here we go... please all be safe and watch this boy... yeah this is the season alright but dang it.. As soon as you hear one coming there's another one behind it... Make sure you all stay safe please.. Heads up on this one...I know the news media sends us all bonkers...but in away sometimes we need that hype to keep on our toes and ready to hit the open road..

Bethers gave us a little spin... yeah she had that girl spinning in all directions.. amazing..enough to say.. "Good Night Beth...you need to keep busy " LOL... it was neat..especially when I got her going right and then left... felt like I had the ole Magic Wand going there...well at least I'm working both sides of my brain..now only if it would trickle down to my legs..that would be wonderful....oh.. and those mimosas .. I think they are champagne and Oj.. ok.. I'll have one :)

Olive Oil.. (OO) thank you dear for the intro to the Tree Frog.. I will remember that one.. Now to hear the symphony ..would be wonderful.... have to check my area to see..LOL... but I never have the windows open ...AC is running...and sitting out on the porch.. well ..them skeeters have been attacking.. in fact we have some serious issues with West Nile Virus..soooooooo my butt stays in doors...and watches TV or a Movie..or have company to chat with...no way outdoors...sigh...

Liz has put up some really neat pictures of her Adventure up to the North East...yeah Liz.. you find great places and cheap ones too...can I get in there with my crew ???? cepting some places I'm not sure our size rigs would find it easy... those twisty windy turns... mmmm .. thinking on it.. for a possible trip next Summer...I'll catch up with ya about it later on Liz..

Asirimarco (Carol) also posted some neat info...check it out.. loved that town Carol... I can see us all heading in one time...hey..good thoughts...we can hit that town as a group.. looks really interesting..and lots of things to do...

Cedar... You know I wanted to ask you yesterday...How did your girlfriend make out ? I do hope and pray all went well for her... Gosh.. you are a good person to go with her.. Hugs to her from me !! and hey.. you are going away.. You enjoy this weekend as I know you will be going back to work soon... Thumbs up my dear friend... I hope next year we can get to meet..

Avalen...(Ava) I hope all is going better for you... I read your "Nothing important".. Hey Sista...everything here is important...just saying "Hi" we think about ya... and summer is almost over..so that hard heat spell will be gone..right, you need some cool down time ! I always enjoy our chats when I can log on in the evening... I'll be catching ya again..Ya hear !!...Oh and Ava... I too.. was never one for short hair.. in fact the last time I had it trimmed was 15 years ago ..so when I had it cut.. I felt bad it couldn't be used.. as I had lots of damage.. but now it's short and we'll see...I'm anxious to cut it again cause it's getting to the ..ugh stage...and me who never had short hair...see..changes we make...

RetiredHappy (Karen).. did ya get the direction you want to go.. Coming to Florida... and as soon as you can figure out when you are coming...all of us.. (maybe me) can plan..and then another GTG begins..oh ..nice thoughts again...

Liz..isn't that always the case.. find places that no one really talks about because it's not on the "In " list.. is always better...for me it's always been the case...

RVGranny...so you is just about all packed..aaaaah good feeling I'm sure and then push off on Monday... well Safe Journey to you and post when you can to let us know where you are at....Lookin forward to catching up with you around that bend...

Gentleladybear (Nan) Have a great weekend and Enjoy.. can't wait to see your pictures..Be safe !!

Well I've beat my gums enough and now I'm thirsty.. and yes...for my coffee and I think I have a few of my friends dunken...yeah..it's good to the last drop too....:) Ok Echo, Mntophoundz and all of you who have joined me.. I love having you hear....

May your Adventures be Great ones and your Journey be Safe...

God Bless

Good morning from hot, sticky Wildwood! I'm sitting here with my mug of brew and a Nonni's. I introduced biscotti to DB yesterday and now he's hooked too.

The plan today is 'there is no plan'. Don't ya just love those lazy summer days? Later we will stop by brother's and cook out..but till then it's time to put the feet up and read. Maybe I'll decide on a little nap at some point. What a life.

There is a semi-permanent resident parked across from us and the man is putting a deck on. He's been at it slowly for the last 2 days and I can imagine it's quite a feat in this humidity. I mentioned to Tommy that I almost expected him to go over and offer to help...and he said, "yeah, I thought about it". I'm telling you, retirement is going to be hard on my BF. He sure doesn't know how to relax. I think he needs to get a hobby. :D I sure have enjoyed traveling with him though. Molly and I usually go it alone so I wasn't sure how this would work out. We're down to our last week of this adventure and neither of us are sporting strangulation marks as yet.

I hope you all enjoy a good day whether it be working, traveling or just relaxing. Be safe!

Gooood Moooooorning!!!!

Raising my mug in salute to ya Barbz and everyone else too. Been swilling that brew since 5:15am dang it. Woke up before the alarm, tried to go back to sleep for just a few minutes more, but???? My bladder and Shade weren't gonna have any of that! Gads I don't know what's worse? The needing to get into the bathroom or Shade needing to go out? There are those mornings that I simply can't ignore or convince either one to hush and let me go back to sleep. ~sigh~

Ahhhhh Barbz you had best believe that most everyone is checking out what you post first thing in the morning. Hole lot more looking and reading than there are posting back to it for sure. But reading they are. :D I try in the evenings to read and catch up but I admit I don't read every single thing and only sometimes do I post back. And you know for sure that I read your morning coffee post. Which frustrates the billy b-gosh out of me some times. You write of something then I have to go looking for it to see what the heck I missed out on!

Hey Carol I've been 'thru' Nashville IN but sure can't do much site seeing when your driving a tractor trailer. Parking spots are kinda hard to find. hehehe I saw that flamingo flag you teased us with. That's a good looker with the two of them birds flirting with the people.
And Liz's pictures? They were great. It's amazing that we all see the same things? But she takes the time to take a picture of it. Like the bee on the thistle. He looked busy as a bee (HA) and happy too. You were in my neck of the woods. And right up I81 too. The kids and I have been wanting to get down to Cherokee for at least a day but haven't made it yet.

Ok that's it for me. Bummer!!! It's that time, Kelly is dressed and ready to go out the door. Maybe someday I wont have to hurry up and run off in the mornings every morning? LOL

Hope everyone has a great day and stays safe.

Love to all

Good morning...good morning...I'm sitting here kicking myself for going to work today. Half the shops are going to be closed and the CO I have right now drives me crazy...and with just my shop open in my unit he is going to be around all day long. This is a big weekend around here...Sunday is the reception for my friend's daughter and her husband in our yard...have to get the patio and the yard spiffed up a little tonight and tomorrow. The tent goes up tomorrow...there will be a storm tomorrow night...I just know it...Murphy's Law. Already have two porta potties in the yard...lovely lawn ornaments! But hey...we're neutral territory so that's why the reception is in our yard...parents had a nasty divorce and dauaghter said the only way they could have a reception was if it was on neutral territory. We're friends with both parents and have a half a block...Gotta go...the whistle is blowing my sign to get in the car and wait for the guy I car pool with.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Top of the Mornin' to you - May your day be happy and cool and either dry or wet whichever you need.
We had a very lazy day yesterday - I worked on my quilt (one I'm making for me) I'm using autumn leaves as the theme but can't find the material I want. Should have bought it last year when I saw it....Hate when I do that.
Today we have to go into Bloomington about 20 miles west to pick up Bill's glasses and we will probably eat a late lunch at O"Charleys - yes I found one there! No cooking tonight. Will also stop at a used bookstore (only paperbacks) there and load up. Bill made me a great bookcase - takes up one whole wall, ceiling to floor so I need to read a lot to fill it. Problem is I read faster then my favorite authors write. And books are getting so expensive.
Saw a young buck out back last evening eating the corn. He looked at me like "Its about time you got more food for us." Also bought some potted mums for the planters. My kind of plant - just stick the pot in the planter and water. I always said when I retired I would get a one bedroom condo and a plastic flower.....sure screwed that one up - huge house on 5 acres.... the full timing is begining to look better and better to me. But then I'd have to get rid of all of my "stuff."
Enough rambling....see you around the campfire later.
It's our 2nd oldest sons birthday today - 48 already - he's the one who owned the snakes. Found out from one of his brothers that he, Randy, built the chopper that the lead character of a new series on TV rides in the show. Will find out more about it later today when we talk to him.

Good morning Barb et al...

Lingering in the cg awhile this morning to get caught up with all of you. Won't have connection for several days. Stayed up 'til midnight last night...unheard of for me!

Yes, Barb, I read and enjoy your post first, and always enjoy your graphics. (A lot of us will be flippin' those hamburgers this weekend, I'll bet) Sometimes yours is the only one I have time to read and it keeps me informed about everybody's doings. I don't thank you enough for getting up before the crack of dawn and taking your time to do this! So thank you, thank you, thank you!

Going to be a little gtg this weekend with Cedar in the Adirondacks, yep. I'm sure you'll be hearing about it.

Going to have a 2nd cup of coffee and post once more some pictures. Have a great day!

GOOD MORNING----GOOD MORNING---GOOD MORNING!!!!!!!!!

Well the moving truck is backed up to the front door-------- Hubby & I loaded the moving truck until midnight last night-----slept in until 6:00 this morning-sure felt good to sleep in!!!!!!!!

Finding a moving truck to rent on Labor day week end was a hard one-- I guess everyone is moving this week end-------- we reserved one- to be brought into a town about an hour from us-as that was as close as anyone had one----& when we went to pick it up it was 8 ft longer than we ordered!!!!!!!!!!!!
It looks huge!!!!!!!!!! Same price as the smaller one------- but a lot of truck to drive on Labor Day week end with all the traffic for over 5 hours!!!!!!!!!!

Well I need to get busy--------- IF ya don't hear from me for a few days I'm not dead!!!!!!

I don't always respond to your morning post - as often it's afternoon (or later) when I read it - but I read the whole thing. Couldn't agree with you more about how politicians spend money - and how much money is spent on the conventions, etc - it's plan sickening - our whole election system stinks. Ah, don't get me going there LOL - not trying to start any debates - but geez Louise - I hope someday, something is done that make sense - starting with a REALLY LOW cap on how much they can spend - and how much the conventions can cost (or, how about - make the conventions be paid entirely from contributions - instead of out of our pockets - bet we wouldn't be having trouble knowing if social security was being funded if we werent' going further into debt by some of these things).

OK - I'm quitting before you all behead me :)

I can't wait to hear about Cedar and Liz's little gtg this weekend. Sure wish I could be with them. That is such beautiful country. It's so hard for me to be staying in one place for so long. I can't wait to meet up with as many of you as possible in early November! And to be away from here for a few days again. I'm going to be thrilled to get back on the road full-time in the spring. I don't feel like a full-timer when I'm just living in my rig in one place.

As to all the other posts on the forum - I actually do try to read all of them. I will admit that there are times I skim - or I wouldn't have any other life. And, yep, when you miss a day or two - it can be impossible to read them all - so I won't always do so then - and have to stop myself from feeling guilty. I do know that when I'm back travelling full-time and moving more, and without a good connection for several days - that I won't be able to read as much somedays -

Zeee, as Liz said - your recap really, really helps - especiall then. I hope you know how much it is appreciated!
