had a friend that used to do the mystery shopping, she loved it but she told
me some company's are slow to reimburse you for the money you spend but
some are not. She said you just gotta get with the right company. She never
told me which companys. I think you really have to enjoy shopping. Myself...
I hate shopping and I try to get in and out as quick as possible.
Little tummy soreness today, but I'll pick up a yogurt and a banana on my
break this morning and that'll fix me right up. I did take a little Imodium
last evening after the pink stuff.
Stirring up the coals a little, tossing on another log and I'm out'a here.

Another long day of working both jobs. Only one haircut tonight tho. I will be cutting (no pun intended) out Monday evenings at the shop pretty soon for my golf league. My boss won't be too happy about that but, hey, gotta do what I gotta do, right?! Gotta have a little fun in my life!

I stopped to see my mechanic today to find out what is making all the noise in the back end of my car. It turns out my struts are shot. The springs are broken on both sides. He says I can keep driving it that way if I don't mind the noise and bouncing. It will cost me about $400+ to replace the struts, which I don't have right now so it will have to wait. I am worried now that my car is not in good enough shape to drive out to California. I can't afford to get another car now either. I still have a couple of months to figure out if this whole plan is going to be feasable by August, or not. I would feel a whole lot better if I was in better financial shape.

Still a little stuffed up but feeling better today. Zoey, my cat, woke me up at 3:30 in the morning to tell me she doesn't like her new food! She has never woken me up before, so I jumped out of bed at her insistance, thinking the apartment was on fire or something. No, she just wanted to b*tch about her food. Geez! So tonight I stopped to get her some new food so hopefully that will do the trick for her. Otherwise she will spend the night out on the porch!

Good night gals!

Love that campfire. And Smores, YUMMMMMM.

But I have to tell you this tale. i used to belong to a now defunct outdoor club where I live and every year we used to go up into the Canadian bush for a three day outing. One of the members parents lease some cabins from the Algoma Central Railway up north of Agawa Canyon. That's north of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Only way in is by train. We used to drive the first 90 miles and then catch the train and they would drop us off at the side of the tracks. Cabins were right off the tracks. You got a free vibrating bed when the freights went by
Anyway, driving home on one trip, the vehicle I was in had the leftover foood, which wasn't much. Driver was hungry, so we fished out a bag of marshmellows. He munched on some, said too bad they weren't roasted. His girlfriend took out her cigarette lighter and presto, roasted marshmellows! Now if we had had some graham crackers and Hershey bars.......

It's funny the memories we have, isn't it, Colliemom? I remember when I was in grade school and in Brownies. We were making s'mores...I think the first ones I ever made. We were at our troupe mom's house and we roasted the marshmallows over her stove. I think it was a good lesson in adapting and overcoming  Now, I use any open flame to roast marshmallows!

Microwaved S'mores just don't do it for me. That burnt crispy marshmallow flavor and texture is missing! Gotta be the real deal for me! I bought a S'more's maker years ago that holds a small sterno can for the fire and can be used indoors. Have never used it tho! Might try it on my porch this summer.

I'm with you, Barbie! My mallows have to be toasty brown...Yum!!! That s'more maker contraption sounds interesting! Sometimes I do skip the chocolate bar. I kind of like using the chocolate graham crackers instead. Not quite so rich so I can eat more ;)

I've been checking in on and off all day to see if Ava has posted since this morning at coffee. I hope she is ok. I'm worried since I haven't see an update.

I'm worried, too! It's not like Ava to leave us hanging :? As for the s'mores without chocolate...I LOVE chocolate as much, if not more, than any woman...believe me!!! I just feel better if I don't eat it.

ok, ok, don't be worried, the checkup went ok, bloodpressure is questionable since
I've always been normal low all my life and its just slightly elevated from "MY" normal.
No symtoms indicating anything in the area of a heart attack or stroke being eminant.
She thought it was safe to wait for an appt with my regular doctor but that if I had
ANY symptoms at all not to hesitate to call 911. She said to continue with the aspirin
and drink lots of fluids, not just juice but gatorade and also water. Cholesterol has
been good number all my life as well, she did not take any bloodwork to check that.
Symptoms being the return of the dizziness or headache, arm pain, chest pain, jaw
pain, etc. I'm feeling fine, the pain in my carotid artery has gone for now but could
be plaque building up and she said my doctor will order up a test for that.
She also said to relax and take it easy and don't do anything stressful or strenuous.
I think I about covered it. I definatley am glad I got it checked out, the worry was
adding to the problem. I'll be following up with my doctor unless symptoms show up
that make me call 911 until then.
