Come Saturday morning...

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Come Saturday morning...

Postby Liz » Sat Apr 10, 2010 6:58 am

Remember that song?

Well, I slept in here, it's after 7 and Roe is looking at me...I'll have to take him out soon. His poor foot is really bothering him...no long walks until we get it fixed. I think he made need some surgery to remove the growth between the pads. He has an appointment on Monday with the vet.

I'm going to suck it up today and drive on I-10 through Mobile and Pensacola. I'll probably spend the night in a state park in the FL panhandle if they have any sites available. Going to try for one I've never been to. Then I'll get home sometime on Sunday. The rv needs a good wash to get all the salt spray off. And then the inside....whoo-boy.

Hope all your travels and activities today are safe and enjoyable.

GOOD MORNING LIZ AND ALL!

I hope poor Roe's foot can be fixed as good as new so he can run and hike with you soon, as he loves to do. Keep us informed about him. I hope the remainder of your trip is enjoyable and that you find a neat spot to camp on yur last night out.

Here's what it looks like here this morning!

Image
I don't think I'll be sitting out there this morning!

Image
Another view----and it's still coming down!

I picked up my new truck yesterday, and I REALLY love the way it feels to drive-----it seems much smoother and more plush and comfy than my other truck, but, of course, maybe it's just psychological! My TracFone Does synchcronize with the computer that allows me to push a button on the steering wheel and get a robotic voice that will dial a call for me, or answer a call without ever even touching the phone. The entire radio system, with built-in speakers somewhere, allows me to talk and listen hands-free and then hang up....amazing. All my radio controls are also on the wheel---very handy. And my backup camera is the best feature I opted for! My new camper top's door, however, doesn't quite fit on my new tailgate which is designed slightly different from the old tailgate-----so it is still at the dealer's awaiting my decision to either cut the door down to fit and replace the bottom gasket, or awaiting a call from Bull's RV where I bought the top to see if they can replace the back door so it will fit properly. Either way sounds ok to me, as long as the door is secure and water-tight. I will make my first trip to the dump today with my new vehicle! And then play with all its features!

I hope everybody else's day is warmer and more spring-like than ours is this morning! Molly and I just walked in from the trailer, where it was nice and warm, by the way, with the electric heater on, to stoke up this wood fire, make a new pot of coffee, and check my email and posts. Next I will load the truck with about one or two bags of rubbish. I have one more load of laundry to do, and I will be ready to tackle school on Monday----as ready as I can be, which is mostly not ready at all!

Pictures of the truck will follow, as will pictures I took at my daughter's house on Easter weekend when it was actually SPRING!

So pull up a chair, and let us know how you are and what your plans for this Saturday might be!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

good morning ladies,
I do feel better today, my dizziness lasted me well into the evening, I tried to lay
down several times, but when I would get comfy on my side my eyeballs seemed
like they wanted to jiggle, so that was out. I could only lay on my back. Still having
the pain in the side of my neck, like where my jugular vein is so will probably call
my daughter and let her know whats going on and see what she says. I feel like I
should suck it up and go to the clinic. Will have to call my friend Ron and give him
a heads up in case he has to come and pick up the dogs if they put me in the hospital.
I know, I'm probably getting way ahead of myself but I'd rather be prepared than not,
and would much rather know I don't have a blood clot in my neck getting ready to
cause me a stroke. God forbid :( and at my age its kinda hard not to think about
those three major health risks that can kill you when your least expecting it.
Stroke, heart attack, or cancer. Genetically I'm probably only predisposed to stroke.
So, to get off this grim topic, hallelujah its SATURDAY!!
Will get the laundry started in a few minutes and make a run to the grocery store.
Then I'll see how I feel and if I can fit a little carpet cleaning into my schedule, a
few spots might get cleaned. Daughter should be awake around 11 so I'll have to
wait til then to call her. She is a wee bit of a bear if she gets woke up too early.
We're suppose to have a nice weekend, around 86 predicted, at least no rain in
the forecast for now.
Liz, hope Roe's foot surgery goes well and he's back on all 4's in no time.
Have a great weekend and be safe everyone.

Go to the clinic NOW, Ava. You're dizzy because you're not getting oxygen to your brain. Drop everything and GO.

No in a little bit, Ava. NOW. No laundry or errands first. You should have gone yesterday. It might be something that can be handled simply, but probably won't be the longer you wait - and then how many sick days will you have to take?

And, Sparkle, while I agree 100% with what you just said - you need to listen to yourself sometimes :)

Sharon, just read your post from yesterday. What strides you have taken in doggy training. How kewl.

Soos, amazing what trucks can do today, isn't it? Hope you get the cab problem fixed.

Me, I've walked Peaches and taken a shower (in the cg shower - something I rarely do but am doing here cuz we took sites without sewer - so longer I can go without dumping, the better). The place is busy for the weekend with lots of families - I look forward to them leaving tomorrow.

I'm thinking of getting hold of my friend in Arab and seeing about a visit today. And running errands for Jean and I when I make that trip - or even if I don't. Just can't get myself motivated. And I supposed I need to call my friend and make sure he's available. I can't just show up. Well, I could, but then might not be welcome. Can't believe I haven't seen him yet since getting here - bad me. (and bad him).

Have a great day, all.

Ava, I agree with everyone else - go the hospital/urgent care NOW.
Last time I felt dizzy like you described, I was having a stroke (age 40).
GO.

Okay Ava, everyone agrees - time to go to doctor is NOW!

Soos - That new truck sounds awesome! Can't wait for photos.
Your Weather doesn't look that great, however. Here in north AL, we are covered in pollen instead of snow. After a few near record highs last week we are having a brief Dogwood winter; will warm back up rapidly however and no rain in forecast for now.

Liz - I must have missed a post somewhere. Didn't know Roe's foot was bothering him. Hope he is better soon.

Sharon - tell Chewy how proud we are of her progress.

Yes Ava...go right now. There isn't anything that you planned to do today that won't wait until you're feeling better.

Soos...those pictures look very familiar...last year on April 4th our high school prom was cancelled due to a blizzard! The prom is tonight and it looks like we have a very nice day in the making! My friend wants me to go to the grand march with her at 7:30....told her I wait to see how I felt! It's always fun to see the kids in their formal attire...they clean up right nice! Our forecast is for the 60's and 70's through next week with some thunderstorms the beginning of next week. Surprisingly after all the snow we had this winter our area could use the moisture, but there are still areas in the northeastern part of the state that are experiencing severe flooding.

I'm taking advantage of the nice weather and have stripped the bed down to the mattress and am going to launder everything and hang it outside to dry! Can't wait to go to bed tonight in freshly washed line dried bedding....hmmmm. Nobody can bottle that smell!

Lots of putzin' stuff on the agenda today...hopefully my ankle will hold up and let me accomplish all them. Found out that I have a dysfunctional tendon in my left foot and some days it is quite painful. The specialist is trying to see if an ankle brace and orthotic will help...some days it does...some days it doesn't. Hardest part about it for me is having to wear shoes all the time, but I'm willing to give it a try instead of jumping right into surgery. If I have to go that route I'd like to hold off until late summer or early fall so I'm not hobbling around on crutches through the summer and still not have to worry about ice in the winter. During my annual physical I found out that I was extremely Vitamin D deficient...which is hard to believe considering the amount of milk I drink, the calcium pills with D and a vitamin with D also. It has to boil down to my body isn't processing it. Dr gave me 6 mega dose pills to take once a week and I need to get out in the sun more, but that is little hard when I work full time and fluorescent lights don't do the trick! So it was suggested that I do a little fake baking...going to have to go check on that today too. I have trouble with tanning beds because I'm a little claustrophobic, but I think I could handle it for five minutes a pop a couple times a week.

Hope everyone has a great day.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Morning!
Ava I hope you are now at the Drs!! Prayers being said.

We actually had a beautiful day yesterday and I took advantage of it. I got my backyard mowed, finally, and took Choco for a long walk. Before that I met a couple lady friends and we did lunch at our new restaurant called Laurelwood Brewery. Good food and company! Afterward we went and bowled 3 games.

I think today is suppose to be a mirror image of yesterday so will call my friend and see if she wants to meet up with me at the state park and walk our dogs.
Soos, I'm so glad you are enjoying that new truck and hope there's an easy solution for the camper door. My car has most of those gadgets except for the phone feature. I like the back up camera the most. Glad you got that feature. Looking forward to pics.

Got the results of my colonoscopy polyp test. It's non cancerous, but left to grown can turn into cancer, so I'm so happy I got that taken care of this early. I think my happy pills are kicking in, or it could be that we are having some sun. That lifts my mood tremendously any time.

dpf (Pat?), Keep us updated on your foot issue. I'm kind of surprised that a Dr would refer you to a tanning bed as they are known to cause skin cancer. Perhaps a full spectrum light box instead? They use them allot in Alaska because of so much darkness and gloomy days without sun.

Liz, let us know about Roe's foot. Wishing you safe travels todayl

Good morning Ladies

The weather is here a little cloudy today but it is not supposed to rain which is good news for the carnival life.

Today we open at noon and with good weather we should stay open till 9 or 10. Depends on the crowd how late we stay open. Found out yesterday that we have a weekly safety meeting each Friday that we are supposed to attend ~ no one told us so we haven't been going. That will change starting next week.

So far we are enjoying our new jobs with the carnival.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Afternoon all from Baker Creek State Park near Augusta, SC. The weather turned cooler the day before we arrived, but it is still sunny and in the 70's during the day and the 40's at night. I'm amazed at how many campers here have golf carts with them. There seems to be a lot of locals who came for spring break and brought everything with them. Since we are on Thurmond Lake, there are a lot of boats and bicycles as well. Oops, there seems to be a small bird trying to get into the MH. Must be reflections and the front mirror enticing it. Tomorrow we are heading toward the Blue Ridge Parkway and then to nearby Ashville. Hope to do some hiking and bicycling before heading over to Raleigh. carold
