This thread is not intended to spark partisan debate on the new law. I was looking something up for my stepdaughter (who has had juvenile rheumatoid arthritis for 20 years) and ran across this:

HELP FOR EARLY RETIREES—Creates a temporary re-insurance program (until the Exchanges are available) to help offset the costs of expensive premiums for employers and retirees for health benefits for retirees age 55-64. Effective in 2010.

Just a note, the prohibition against denying coverage to adults for preexisting conditions doesn't kick in until 2014.

Don't have any details ... just thought some of you would want to know. I lose my health insurance coverage in 2013, so this is good news for me. ;~)

Thanks for the link, Janice! That's the most clear summary of stuff in that bill that I have viewed thus far. I find it all very confusing and discombobulated, at the least. It will be interesting to see how things go.
