GOOD MORNING TO ALL!!
Here I am up at the crack of dawn, as I have to go to the hospital today for my mammogram and a fasting blood test to make sure my statins aren't wrecking my liver. I will be very glad to get these things done, and then I need to make appointments with my doctor to get a pap test and folow up with blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and whatever. My most dreaded test, the (shudder) colonoscopy will have to be at a later date.
It's nice and toasty out here in the trailer, although I have no clue what it's like outside yet. We had some really heavy rains yesterday afternoon after Molly and I walked the property trails and visited the pond. No more trees seem to have come down in the last bad winds we have had, which was good to see. The pond is completely thawed, and had whitecaps due to the wind yesterday. I did look ahead at our weather for next week, and it sounds as if it will be VERY cold again. I will hate to stay inside, but, in order to save on electricity to keep this heater working out here, I might have to.
I drove my new truck yesterday, and they will detail it for me so I can sign the papers and might pick it up tomorrow. It will take me all afternoon to move all my campstuff out of it so I can vacuum it out and turn it in. What a beautiful vehicle it is! The best part of it is my backup camera which is right at bumper level----showing things outside in living color! It should make hitching much easier, and will allow me to see if anyone is behind me when I back up. As it is now, I can't see anything below the level of the tailgate, and small animals or kids could be in back of me. It also has a beeper if I get within 6 feet of something, which increases in speed as I get closer! Very neat thing to have. It also has some fancy controls on the steering wheel which allow me to connect my telephone via some computerized thingy so I can talk without ever touching my phone, just by voice controls, or some weird thing. I will have to play with that. My radio controls are also on the steering wheel, along with a 6 month trial subscription to Sirius Music. There are plug-ins for an ipod and a USB port on the dash by the fancy radio. It also has a built-in brake controler for my trailer, an electric sliding back window, telescoping rear view self-dimming side windows, self-dimming rearview mirror, automatic skid control, button touch 4 wheel drive high------let's see, what did I miss? Oh yes, adjustable pedals for more comfy seating capabilities, plus electrical seat adjusters. I can't wait to get it in my possession! I think I am going to try for a 5-year lower interest loan with 3,000 down rather than a 6-year loan with higher interest and nothing down. But I haven't really made up my mind about that as yet. I can hopefully replace that 3,000 into my teeny savings account when/if the school offers me some money to retire. I also have to come up with that 2,000 dollars I owe the IRS! I have two Chase credit card account checks with 0% interest until November, with a 4% fee for each check, which I can use for the government, I guess, and then be sure to get that Chase credit card paid off again as soon as I can. I so hate to have to do that, as it is now all paid off. Oh well. I wil have a few more pay days if I retire, before those bi-weekly checks come to an abrupt halt.....for the rest of my ife! Scary!
I have pretty much scratched the idea of going for a new trailer at this point. This one is fine for me and Molly, even if I have to live in it for an extended period of time in FL next winter. Then I can look for a slightly used one down there if I know I can afford one and if I think it would be nice to have more room. In the meantime, I am getting this one broken in and stocked for another season. I will have to plan to haul it somewhere now with my new truck!
Off to the house I go to take a hot bath and get ready to leave----I HATE not being able to have any coffee until after the blood test. I can get that done at about 7:30 they said, so I will bring a cup with me!
Happy Thursday to you all!
