TRAILER TUESDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

TRAILER TUESDAY

Postby Nasoosie » Tue Apr 06, 2010 7:29 am

Good Morning, all!

This is the first morning this year that I am waking up in my trailer! It's not a pretty day out there, all grey and raining, but ii's so nice and toasty in here! As soon as I got back from my daughter's where I spent Easter weekend and saw that enough snow had melted for me to get my trailer free of its winter shelter, I went to it! It was really touch and go there for a while, as the trailer was parked way over to one side of the shelter where it is more level than in the middle. When I hitched the truck to the trailer, I had hope to be able to pull it straight forward to free it. WRONG! Somehow I had slightly aimed the truck in the direction I wanted to haul out the trailer so I could circle around the yard rather than having to back it up after it got free. Itwas heading for my driver's side of that garage, and I knew I was in trouble. I finally unhooked the truck and rehooked it heading in another direction. Even then, I had to go an inch at a time to make sure I wasn't going to take out the garage and the roof of the trailer. The ground in the shelter is anything but level anywhere, hence the trailer tilted and yawed. I was so relieved when it was clear of that thing! (It took over an hour!) I then headed as far out of the driveway as I could (driveway still way too muddy to try to haul it out and turn it on a road somewhere) and TADA I actually backed it up so I could then go forward to where I park it! I BACKED IT UP!

The rest of the afternoon was spent carrying my 'stuff' from the bins in the living room out to here, including two very heavy memory foam matresses. My first step, however, was to hook up my two TVs to my satellite dish (not the portable one----from a cable to my permanent house one) and next was this laptop computer. So here we are, furnace turned on to keep us from freezing our butts off (Molly and me, that is) hot coffee (no water out here for another couple of months, other than jugs of it) my pee bucket for my potty, my warm sleeping bag, and not much else! It's HEAVEN to be free from my house at last! Of course, I still had all my dishes and silverware out here, and each time I visit the house for something, I bring another bag of 'stuff' like spices, soaps, etc. back out here.

I should return to the house for at least a while today, to clean up the living room which has been been converted back to sofa/living space from my permanent sofa-bed/bedroom winter space in there. If I need to stay inside now, I can just sleep on the sofa. I also need to go through my tons of tools and narrow them down to the essentials I will need in here.

I will download and post the pictures of my daughter's house and area, along with my trailer in its summer spot, later today. I have loved seeing the Texas GTG ladies that Liz has so professionally provided for us. Beth, I do remember the name Port Lavaca and that you loved it there, but when I saw Magnolia Beach, I didn't think they were one and the same. No wonder you loved it there so much! I sure hope not too many others will find that spot and turn it into a Cony Island!

I hope all is well with you and yours, and I hope to read posts from you all today. Happy Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday morning Soos and all! It must be spring if Soos is staying in her trailer! No question about it here in central TX. Mid 80s everyday. Maybe a cool down coming with a small storm front. The bluebonnets are blooming in full glory. I've been hearing about them for years and so fun to finally get to see them and take snaps of DGD surrounded by a sea of blue. (We call these lupines in CA, but no matter, they are beautiful!)

Today is cleaning day for condo and van. My friend Sandi arrives Wed evening from CA. We will explore Austin for a few days and then take off on our big loopy road trip through east Texas, Louisiana, and back along the Gulf. (Vicki, I'll be in touch for ideas of the BEST places to see!).

I'm still grinning from my visit to the GTG at Magnolia Beach. So great to see Liz and Karen again and to get to meet Birdie and Vickie! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would have friends scattered all over the country who would TRAVEL hundreds of miles to GTG. How does it get much better than that?!?

Easter weekend was full of family fun. I was a bit sad to miss everyone in CA, but helping DGD dye her first eggs, and then hid them for anyone she could drag outside more than balanced that out. Those eggs were recycled many, many times!

Hope everyone is having a fun day where ever you are, byee.

Good morning Nasoosie,

I am worn out from your trial and tribulations of getting your camper out of the winter storage building.

I am happy to hear you are in your camper and enjoying it. Since, I am new here, I don't understand why you are staying in your camper instead of your home? Just curious. ;)

Good morning Ladies

A quick note before starting our day at the carnival. This morning we, Ron & I, are going for training on how to process time sheets. I have already learned how to do them but Theresa wants me there to help train the others. When we are in Puyallup we won't be selling tickets so we have to have other jobs to do. I will be processing employee applications on Tuesday and then processing time sheets the other days. Ron will be doing the set up on Tuesday and Wednesday and then not sure what all he will be doing. We are definitely on a learning curve but very willing to learn to do whatever needs to be done...we are here to work and that is what we want to do.

It is another windy, rainy and cold day here in Lacey. Am sure the carnival will only be open for a few hours again today. Yesterday the owner came through. Stopped and said hi to us in the ticket booth and asked how we were doing. Guess we will see him more in Puyallup.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good afternoon all. Soos, how wonderful that you got the trailer out in the sun. Your ordeal is the reason I am such a baby about getting a trailer, how exhausting. But you did it, YIPEEEEE!!! Even thought it's not completely set up, YOU ARE IN THE TRAILER. Not much going on here. My neighbor is supposed to cut my grass as payment for storing some of his stuff in my garage. Looks as though I will have to at least cut the backyard. the puppies are getting lost back there. Rats I so enjoyed not having to do that last year.

Take care all and safe travels to those traveling. Linda

Afternoon here but wanted to say, "hey".
Yep, it's another blustery, rainy day here in the PNW. Really hard to get into the RVing mood. Wish I could keep my MH in my driveway. I'd be in it all the time, like you, Soos! Alas it's still at the mechanics. I am also having him put the valve stem extenders on the inside dual wheels so I can check the pressure more easily. He had to order those so that's what has held us up. I was hoping again that today would be the day to pick it up. ;)
I bowled this morning. Did really rotten, some of my worse bowling ever! On Friday me and the other two ladies I bowl with are going out to lunch and then go bowling together. No extra stress of the other teams being there, just us. Should be fun.
My fulltime RV friend, Jeannette, is in town. I need to call her, too. I just don't seem to have any energy lately. I'm thinking the dreary days are getting to me more and more as I age.
Hope everyone else is doing better than I am! (not hard ;) )

I'm just relaxing in the Walmart parking lot. OK...now I can't think about that without the image of that music video in my mind   Better than the pit bull attack images I've been having  We are in Davenport, IA so at least we are in the state now. Always so strange to see so many IA license plates. Don't see many in FL. The warm weather is still following us, but I think things are about to change  Seemed like a long day. Had to make several stops. DH was driving the first leg in the mh and he's not used to checking out everything before taking off. The bottom big drawer in the kitchen slid out and the slide broke, so we had to dismantle the drawer. Another thing for his list of repairs at the Winnebago factory! He is the paranoid type so at one point he noticed the switch for the elec. water heater was on and he had to stop to turn it off. He wouldn't let us put out both slides tonight because it may storm. Then, the slide topper was blowing and I thought we were going to have to bring in the other slide :? Just a slice of what I have to deal with every day  Oh well...just makes me more anxious to get things settled and get my mh :!:

Soos...You sound like me when we still had the house. We could be gone all winter and when we got back in the spring, I just felt more comfortable in my RV! I think it is the simplicity and coziness of it. Sounds like quite a job to get your tt out of the shelter :o Would be nice if you knew someone who would let you park it for the winter in a more accessible spot. Any word on the new truck and tt? What are your summer travel plans?

Howdy!

I am staying in my trailer as I get so sick and tired of having to be inside all winter long! I have always loved camping, and, now that I have a trailer instead of a tent, or an open leanto like I have on my pond, I can camp for longer each year-----even if it's just in my own yard! This is pure luxury for me! I have also discovered I like the smaller area to have to organize, clean, and keep tidy! My house overwhelms me, and I dont' even know where to begin in there.

So here I am for the summer, I hope, unless the weather gets really bad!

I kinda think setting up our campers is like playing house. I think that's why we enjoy being in them so much. It's the little girl in us. :)
