I was in Fort Collins this weekend at Horsetooth Reservoir. I really didn't want to leave and was tempted to look at the help wanted ads, so I could find a job and move there.

The scenery was breathtaking and knowing I'll be back up there, I'll get some better shots next time. Since I don't have a camera, I rely on my cell phone.

Ah well, back to work. I miss the reservoir already.

ooh yea, Horsetooth was a great spot, went fishing there many times but never
caught anything. I remember having to wait for the cowboys to move stock across
the road on the way out one time.

I love that area. Almost moved there once myself. Have never stayed at Horsetooth Reservoir, but will remember it for the future. Thanks. And those are great pictures from your phone.

What a beautiful campground. Don't other people know about this place? or maybe they knew about the snow. More room for you!

Some info about the area:
Nestled in the foothills west of Fort Collins is Horsetooth Rock, a famous regional landmark and destination point. According to a local European legend, Horsetooth Rock is the remains of the heart of an evil giant, cut in two by the powerful Native American, Chief Maununmoku, thus protecting his people from the giant’s wrath. In this 2,886-acre open space, there are 29 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, that offer spectacular views and many satisfying opportunities for recreation and renewal. The Wathen, the Herrington, the Soderberg, and the Culver families homesteaded in this area in the early 1900s. These historic family names are used on many of the trails here.

I honestly don't know why there weren't more campers. What you can't see are the homes right next to the campground. It seems ideal. Away from it all, but within ten minutes of town.

Yes, we had quite some snow blowing on Sunday morning. It was much more beautiful that my picture shows. Jess and I were out walking when it came it. Truly awesome.

I'm sure lovin all these Colorado pics and its bring back memories, one place I
never went though was Wellington Lake and its not far from Denver. Folks
from work used to go there and said it was absolutely beautiful. Think I'll go
googeling now.

never have been to fort Collins will need to fix that one day!!! and very good pictures never would have thought a phone would do that well

There were a lot of places out there that I never got to see while I lived there. Never went north or south of Denver, just west into the mountains as far as Glenwood Springs. Loved the smaller towns like Morrison, Evergreen, Golden, Frisco, Georgetown, etc. I really want to get back out there and see Colorado Springs, Estes Park, Aspen, Durango, etc. It is so incredibly beautiful all over out there (except in the eastern part of the state).
