Where are Lori and the Sultan? On the Road Again..

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Sat Apr 03, 2010 8:49 pm

Our Winter Hosting at Holbrook Pond ended on April 1st.....we'll be back in October.....So after getting everything sorted and packed up, we hit the road early in the morning.....I even drove the truck and 5er out of the campground...Ernie wanted me to drive til we got to I-95, but I told him I'm taking baby steps on learning to drive with the camper on the back... ;) and headed north. Our destination was Ft. Fisher Military Rec. Area and campground. Took 6 hours....Spinner traveled well, but it tired him out....every 2 hours, stop for gas and let him pee....so many new smells...so little time.... Then we had the nerve to drive onto the Southport-Ft. Fisher Ferry and ride for 30 minutes....with him in the truck....needless to say Ernie & he hit the bed early...both exhausted from the trip....We're here for 2 weeks....then maybe go a little farther up the coast for the rest of the month...Anyways, got some photos to share.....Enjoy!!

Great pictures in another great area. Enjoy your leisurely trip north! So, you signed back on for next year, eh? They must be sooooooo happy about that. I know they love having you two as camphosts there.

I'm glad you both get a chance to relax and enjoy yourselves. Spinner too!

oh boy, great pictures, more beachs, it must be a natural thing for someone living
in the desert to want to see and smell the beach, "the edge of land" as I like to
refer to it as.
Thanks for the pictures and you two enjoy your vacation, you deserve it!

Isn't it nice to be at a campground that someone else has to operate :D You all definitely deserve to relax for a while. Didn't realize there were so many military campgrounds available. Guess I should have convinced tGM to stay in the AF. And Vicki, I thought those were some kind of antennas sticking up gathering info from unsuspecting retired military commanders. carold
