Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It is Wednesday isn't it?

Good Morning All
Things have been a blurr since we got home Saturday afternoon. Made the last leg of the journey from Ky to Indiana with no problems.
Did not have Internet when we got home. Had to have tech - sent by HughesNet come out yesterday - he was here for 5 hours and 30 minutes after he left it stopped working again! GRRRR - Called HughesNet - they said call tech back - he is from 65 miles from here. Finally got a hold of him and he walked me through the fix - why couldn't Hughes have done that?
Also our big TV in the hobby room (basement) didn't work - had to spend hour on phone with DishTV to get it fixed. Our medical insurance changed first of year so had to get that figured out - at least we can still use same doc (he's the only one in town) The Driver has an ingrown toenail that got infected - so off we went to visit doc.
Then rain for two days - all cleared up now and supposed to reach 80 by Friday.
Have most of stuff out of Jennie and actually put away. Finished laundry but still have to clean her.
House and yard were both very clean - the lady that lives here in the winter is a doll.
So today I'll try to finish my blog about Mexico and figure out how much it costs us. (not counting beads and new laptop) Have not gone over to check on the Alfa yet - that can wait a bit.
Will try to catch up on reading here later - have a good day everyone.

Glad you made it home safely, Carol! Bummer you had so many TV problems waiting for you, but at least all else looked good. Sounds like you didn't even catch your breath before you unloaded, etc. Hope you find some time to relax today! We must have been posting at the same time so there are two threads for today's coffee. I'm on my Droid, otherwise I would combine them. There will be happy people there since you brought the warm weather with you; -)

GOOD MORNING CAROL, LINDA, AND ALL!

Carol, you are so lucky you have someone staying in your home all winter while you get to travel. I really would love to have someone do that when I am gone beginning next winter. It would have to be someone who can deal with lots of snow, lots of cold and ice, firewood, possible frozen pipes, and on and on.

Linda, I'll have to go check the other Wednesday thread you said you started!

It's about 33 here, and the rain has slacked off. I would so LOVE to see some sun today! I want to try out my new portable satellite dish that arrived yesterday to see if I can get TV in the camper part of my truck. I have a small inverter that might work for the receiver, but am not sure yet, or not. Also, I am dying to set up my truck/tent to make sure the sleeve will fit around the back of my tailgate and camper top. When I can know that works, I will be good to go camping anywhere.....even though my trailer won't be out of here for at least another month, or so, due to the remaining snow and mud. But I need some sunshine to dry things up here!

Well, for those of you who didn't read the latest update on Lily and Hope this morning, it appears that they have abandoned thier den-----barring any snow or heavy rains, or whateve, r that might cause them to go back in. Sue Says that little Hope actually tried climbing a tree yesterday while they watched them both outside the den, and that, after screaming for Mom to come save her, she managed to figure out how to back down all by herself! I will miss seeing them both daily, and getting to be a 'guest' in a live black bear den for these many weeks. It has been such an honor to have been able to do that. I need to go on the site again this morning and make my donation----I can't afford much, but I will leave what I can in hopes to be able to see more bears denned up next year.

Now I am crying as I was watching the TODAY SHOW and they had a section on the Jack and Jill Foundation which helps families with people dying of cancer to celebrate life and make some memories by sending them on vacations. "Live like you are Dying" is playing in the background. I guess a morning cry is a fine way to clean out your eyes for the day, along with your soul. I shall live today like I was dying, and see where it takes me. In fact, I believe I will live the rest of my life as if I were dying, and so that means certainly retiring in June. In reality, we all are actually dying from birth, but it's only those passing of many years that really drives that fact home----a wake up and live call. My plan is just that now.

Coffee is hot, so pull up a chair and let us hear about your day----and, by the way, no lives are so dull and boring that we don't care to hear about them! ALL lives are exciting, and all lives are important and all lives are fun to hear about. Life, by its very nature, cannot be just mundane and boring. It just takes some searching----some analyzing, sometimes, to find the fun parts of it. For the past few days here in the cold and rain, on the surface it seemed dull and boring-----but it has been WONDERFUL to be able to lose track of the time, the days, any schedules, and to sleep in my warm bed until the daylight wakes me up!

So, have a happy Wednesday, y'all, and tell us about yours!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning Ladies!

It is chilly but dry here in Lacey, WA. Lacey is south of Tacoma/Seattle.

Had a good day yesterday: got the laundry done and did some grocery shopping. Boy was it expensive to do laundry here. $2.75 a load to wash and $0.25 for six minutes to dry. Cost me $10.50 to do 3 loads of laundry. Hope to find a cheaper laundromat in the next town.

Today I don't have to work till 1:00 ~ that is when I have to go and set up the ticket box. Set up for me is setting up the chairs inside the box as we have to lay them down for traveling and hooking up the computers, receipt printer and the scanner. They don't sell individual tickets anymore. You get a card like a debit card that we scan the tickets into and then the rides and games use scanners to take away the number of tickets for each thing.

Tonight I am making chicken enchiladas and Spanish rice for dinner.

Don't know what else my day will be like. I am thinking it will be a quiet day.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Nasoosie....Did I miss something??? I thought you were 'thinking' about retiring this year but had not made up your mind...But now you're referring to retiring in June... being as you are such a passionate & sensitive person I can only imagine that coming to a decision was a challenge for you. So guess that means you did make up your mind??? I hope so, although I'm sure you will be missed by your students & friends you have made at your school. Have to be nosey for a second....whatever happened with the property sale that your family was looking into...did that not work out? I do so hope you get to do all the things you've wanted to do...Just remember to keep us informed...Your posts are always so interesting ... it's almost like being right there feeling the cold, the snow, the mud, the wind....Makes me not mind the cold & wet weather we've had here in California this winter as much...Anyhow, just wanted to wish you well & hope you're having a great day !!! :P

I'm sorry, Soos, but I'm afraid I have to decline your offer to house sit your house in the winter! I hope to visit it sometime in the summer, tho: -) I love the attitude you're going with!!! Life is too short and fragile. I hope you do get to retire in June so you can see how nice it is to not have to wade in mud and snow in the winter. My idea of fun in the winter is a nice motorcycle ride or paddle down a scenic river in the warm sun...ahhh!!! Am I convincing enough? Sounds like camperwise you will be ready for anything! This is the last day of the month. I would be surprised if the camper place didn't call you today for a sale!

Not exactly morning now but still Wednesday anyways! Was a long day at work. They finally fixed the computer problems from earlier this week so I had a lot of catching up to do on my work load. Got home and decided to take Moxy out for a walk since it was so beautiful out! 76 degrees and sunny! I took him out to the back courtyard by the lake. I need to reaquaint him with the harness and leash before our big Walk For Animals next month. He did pretty good but was able to back out of the harness once when I wasn't looking and I had to go chasing after him! Tightened the harness up and we were good to go for more walking! Sat and watched the ice breaking up on the lake and saw some ducks, geese and seagulls on the open areas. Met a couple of new neighbors. One gal brought out her pet rat, named Mike. Then I met my new next door neighbor in the hallway on the way back in. His name is Mike, too!

The office building I work in during the day is surrounded by a pine forest and there are 5 miles of walking trails all around there. I have been on two of the shorter ones but am anxious to try out the longer ones when time permits. There are lots of ponds and lakes there too. As I was driving out past one of the lakes, I could here the frogs croaking and saw three turtles sunning themselves on a log. It is definately spring!

Soos, it sounds like you have been doing a lot of contemplating and soul searching on your vacation this week. Sounds also like you have made some decisions about your future. That is great! Good luck with all your plans!

Barbie...I bet Moxy was happy to get outside! Whew...sounds like he tried to make a break for it :o Good thing you can run  Can't wait to see pics of the walk. Is your neighbor taking Mike? Is the other Mike single?

I told Mike The Rat's owner about the walk. Not sure if she will go or not tho. The other Mike is a single dad but I think he also has a girlfriend 'cause his bedroom is next to my kitchen and I hear "things" occasionally. He did invite me in to show me some projects he is working on for his porch.

Moxy is a little Houdini and can get into, onto, thru or out of anything! He has no fear of anything (hense the name Moxy!). Altho, as soon as I would sit down on the grass he would come running over and curl up in my lap! So cute! My ferret Yogi, who died last May, was blind but he loved to go outside and roll around in the grass and run! He seemed to know he could run and not run into anything out there (I steered him away from trees, etc). I was able to get him outside for one last run just a week before I had to put him to sleep (he had 2 kinds of cancer).

LOL!!! I thought the rat's name was Mike. Must have been thinking of my ex husband named Mike, who is a rat...lol! So Mike the Neighbor Guy (that will be what I call him) has a girlfriend...bummer. At least he showed you his "project"! Don't think I could stand the racket through the walls as a single...lol. Mike the rat and I had a couple above us once that were LOUD...and their bedroom was right above ours. OK...enough of that before I have a hot flash or something! Anyways...I also call Rags Houdini. He gets out of his Halti gentle lead as soon as I stop to talk to someone.

Actually, I ran into an old, old boyfriend a couple years ago (he found me) who's name is Mike. He has been in and out of jail for most of his life (once for robbing a train that I was unknowingly an accomplice to), robbing a drug store with a sawed off shotgun, etc. (He really is a nice guy tho!) However, he now looks like an old homeless man with long, stringy, gray hair, long gray beard, missing a couple teeth in front, etc. He did some carpenter work for my brother last summer and told him he really wants to go out with me again but can't understand why I don't call him. He doesn't drive, barely works, and has a history of alcololism. Gee, I wonder?

The good guy who got away...he was Michael.

So now you know all about the worst and the best ex's I've had!
