Is it Sunday already?

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Is it Sunday already?

Postby bikerchic777 » Sun Mar 28, 2010 6:03 am

Here I am again! I've already been awake for a half hour and answered a post to Barbie. I'm enjoying my forum friendship with her! It seems we have a lot of common thoughts on "men"! OK...change the subject!!!

Went to the fire last night at our friends'. Enjoyed it until it got too big...as in too many people. My marshmallows were great, even tho they had gotten sticky in the bag. Anyone know how to keep that from happening in humid climates? Do I just need to put them in Tupperware when I first buy them? Anyway...the weather was perfect! It must not have gotten real cool last night because we turned on the fan on the AC and it is still on and feels fine. I love it when I don't have to kick the heat on! We leave FL on Thurs and will probably have to use it again as we head north. That is just 4 days away! I am so ready to move on!!! Looking forward to getting to TN ans spending some girl time with my niece and SIL. Then there's kayaking time with my bro, too. Mtc ride with my nephew (as my passenger). He's 18 and not embarrassed to be seen with his crazy Aunt Linda! Isn't that sweet? I bought them t-shirts in Key West so hope I remember to give them to them.

Not sure what today holds yet, other than plans to walk with friend, Dan, and maybe his wife, Char, if her ankle is having a good day, on the birding trails at 9:00. Guess I better get off of here and eat! Have a great morning, girls!

GOOD MORNING, LINDA, AND ALL!

Coffee tastes good, thank you!

I just lost my message, so this will be brief as I HATE repeating what I already wrote from my heart.----my patience is THIN in the early mornings! I was trying to send a link to the trailers I am shopping online for, and I had forgotten to copy my message. Sigh. Basically I just said that rather than going to Chazy yesterday, the threat of snow and icy precipitation for today made me stay put. Yesterday was sunny all day, and absolutely beautiful. Molly and I spent some time in the trailer, with the furnace and radio on, putting some 'stuff' back in there. I bought two new lamp shades for my table lamps that will allow me to use the new swirly-type light bulbs in them rather than the round regular bulbs that my present shades need to clamp onto. It's about 19 degrees here this morning, and nice and comfy as I have the time to keep my woodstove humming and the time to keep the wood rack filled. Today does look like freezing rain or snow, so we are ready for whatever.

It was good to hear from Kath yesterday, and get the news that her sister will begin some treatments for her illness-----it's worth a try, for sure.

My background sounds this morning are Lily snoring in her den, and Hope making little squeaks to try to get her up! I can't wait to see that program on animal planet that Lynn and Susan have put together about walking with bears. He will be on the TODAY SHOW on Monday, advertising it, and talking about it. These two have done a fantastic job educating me about black bears.

Off I go to stoke the fire. I hope you all have a good day wherever you are, and that you will share it with us!

Happy travels!

Glad someone else is up, Soos! I've had my morning cereal and letting it settle before my morning walk. I bet it felt good to get in the tt again and start making it homey for your travels :D Sorry to hear you're still getting winter weather up there :x, but sounds like you don't mind it so much. I sure hope it's spring weather when I get to IA! 80% chance of rain here today, but predicted high of 75. The sun is shining now, but I do see some clouds moving in. Hope it doesn't rain on my walk, but if we get wet, I will bathe the boys outside in the rain. I've done that before :| They need a bath today, anyway.

Barbie...I'm continuing your Sat. convo to today...Your bike trail sounds nice! I love bike trails where old railroads used to be!!! They are the best! Some are paved and some are packed pea gravel. If your tires aren't the skinny racing type, you can navigate well on those, too. Unless you like a good hill workout, they are an easy ride, since they generally don't have any steep grades. Bring your bike with you when you come through IA and we can go on the bike trail from Saylorville to downtown Des Moines...fun! Don't know if I missed it, but what happened with the convo with your boss about hourly pay and the cosmetologist job (is that right?) you were trying for?

Good morning gals! I woke up early this morning even tho I was planning on sleeping in. Must have been that 3 hour nap I took yesterday that got me caught up on my sleep.

Soos, you must have lost a lot of snow last week with the rain?

It is sunny today here with a high of 50. Probably should go out and clean out my car. It gets pretty messy in there over the winter months. Maybe get my bike fixed up today too. That trail here is very nice. The only one around here that is paved. Two other (RR) trails nearby are the pea gravel. I don't like those to ride on. Too rough. I have one of those old-fashioned cruiser bikes with the wide handle bars, wide seat, fenders, no gears, and back-up brakes. It is red with black trim. Very cool! I get lots of comments on it. I want to get a black wire basket for the front.

Hope everyone has a great day! Gotta go let the ferrets out for playtime now!

Hey Barbie...that sounds like my bike, a Malibu Cruiser...only mine is aquamarine metallic blue, with a seat big enough for a Harley, the balloon tires and pedal brakes...DH gave it to me for Christmas a couple of years ago. My sons call it my Pee Wee Herman bike. I want a basket on mine too so I can ride to the post office to pick up the mail or pick up a few things at the grocery store....would be nice at the campground too for the shower bag.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

I've been checking out different baskets on line and there are some with handles that you can just snap off and take with you (into a store, etc) and then it snaps back on the bike when you are ready to go. I might get one like that.

I have one of those on my bike, but I'm sure the plastic bracket will get brittle eventually and give out before the basket. I bought it at K-mart in the Keys. Everyone has them in Key West. Came in handy to carry all my stuff when I rode into town. I ordered a real nice big shopping basket online, but it doesn't fit on my bike. I think it fits on those cruiser bikes that you girls have. Never used it. I think I still have it, so if anyone is interested, I can check. It's silver and has the braces that hook to your hubs so you can carry more. I think it can hold two big grocery bags (reusable, of course).I thought it would be fun to put Rags up there, but never got to find out. Would be good for ferrets, though; -)

Had a nice walk in the woods with friends, Dan and Char, this morning. Was crossing the stream and the plank moved, so I got one of my new shoes soaked...lol. Now they are officially broke in! Very cloudy, but no rain yet. Think I will finally bathe the boys instead of just saying I'm going to. Have a great day everyone!!!

Good morning ladies
I slept in too, but of course I got to bed late and had a great time at the party.
Met daughters new beau, very nice guy, and there was lots of good food, including
a chocolate fountain with a plate of fruit to use for dipping the chocolate, it was
devine! And of course there was lots of booze, whats a party without booze, but
I only had one and a half beers cause I wanted to keep my senses and knew I was
my own designated driver. Could have had wine but I would have sucked that up
like kool aid so I opted for beer instead. And of course there was good music too.
Now my daughter has a Degree in Bachelor of Science with a PSA (public safety
administration)
Today is a bit of laundry, a little shopping, and a lot of relaxing :D although cleaning
out the car would probably be a good idea too cause mine gets messy over the
winter as well.
Have no idea what the temps are to be today, but nice and nicer sounds good.
Enjoy your day and be safe.

Good afternoon,...

And we are home -- from our weekend away. It was a fantastic "getaway"... can't beat spending time with good friends and good music, and of course my beloved St.Lawrence River right outside the windows. We came back a longer route, north from Alex Bay through Massena, Malone, and then down through Plattsburgh where we picked up I-87 home. Weather was 40-50° and breezy, absolutely no foul weather at all. Looks like you would have been just fine Soosie to have gone to Chazy.

Now that the bluegrass festival season has "kicked off".... I'm looking forward to Long Lake in 4 wks. and then LaFargeville in 8 wks. Of course camping starts in between those events. So another winter has passed, spring is here and all is well.

Hope you are all having a great day!
