Happy Friday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Blind dates I've been set up on by friends have been the worst experiences! Total losers! Makes me wonder if either my friends don't know me very well, or secretly don't like me!

I agree that getting involved with activities that I enjoy is the best way to meet guys. That way I am having fun and making new friends, regardless if I meet a guy, but a bonus if I do meet a guy with similar interests. I think those situations show everyone in their best light, being themselves, instead of trying to make a good impression by pretending to be someone other than who they are, like they do in bars (or on-line).

[itYou got it! I have found that out the hard way!!! My current DH (think that's the abbrev, tho no one has given me the list yet) is such a different person now than the one I married 4 yrs ago! I heard Dr. Phil say this..."no one divorces the same person they married". How true!!! Problem was that I married him too soon to get a chance for the "real" him to come out...my mistake! I have been so worried about this money he owes me and if and how to get it. He is loving that control, just like my first ex! I love how I can think of things when I first wake up!!! He said he would pay me when we send off the papers to court. I need that money to pay for my "home sweet motor home". I don't trust him, so I'm going to tell him to have the money (postal money order) in hand and ready to hand me in front of the notary public. Now, who's got the powah? Note to self: Never get rid of any pets for a man. I can't believe I gave up my cats for him because he's allergic! [/b]

I would never give up my animals for a guy! My animals are my kids and they come first!

Well I wish you ladies the best of luck in getting to know yourselves and getting to be happy without a significant other. I am one of the lucky ones, I found my soul mate in a bar room of all places!! We have been happily married for 37 years and the love is greater now than when we married. So, go on like you are, but don't close your eyes to the possibility of someone out there who could be your soul mate too. :)

Oh, I am always "looking" to some degree. I just am not willing to settle for just any guy who comes along. If I can find that "soul mate", I will surely grab onto him. I would much rather be with someone than to be alone, but don't want to be stuck with someone who isn't right for me. I had a great guy once a long time ago, but I was too young and naive to appreciate him and he got away. If I could find someone like that again, I would know better now. Just hard to find... I envy you gals who have found your lifelong partner. You are very lucky!

Barbie you said "I am too independent to let any guy tell me what to do, when, where, how or why." Guess I was lucky most guys I met during my single years were pretty nice. The way you handle the others is to say goodbye the first time they try to control or question! A change of locations does sound in order, not that I personally feel there is anything wrong with hunting if you eat what you kill. Good luck with what ever road you take!

I almost spewed...here you are talking about "hunting" (looking) for men, and all of a sudden, you're killing them and eating them...
Thank goodness I remembered Barbie had mentioned never hunting a hunter a couple of posts up!

What is that insect that bites the head off its mate when the coupling is over??? Is it the Praying Mantis?

Thanks for the chuckle.

Yes, it's the praying mantis :o Don't forget the black widow spider who eats her mate  I may end up with a man someday, but for now I'm going with the "3 strikes you're out" rule  I need some independence again. Congratulations to those of you who found the right guy and stuck with him. Unfortunately, like Barbie, I think I let the good one go (my 2nd husband). Hey, Barbie, maybe yours is available...have you checked? You never know! OK...I hope everyone is enjoying my soap opera, "As the Stomach Turns" Stay tuned for more episodes!

Did you mean hurting a hunter!! Hey I've been sick maybe I'm still feverish and can't write right :!: Glad you got a chuckle on this cold, damp, dreary, rainy Sunday. You know it's going to go from cold to hot in a few days.

LOL - that's why I put "looking" in parens...looking (as in stalking, hunting...) But hurting works, too!!

It is dreary, isn't it??? Haven't checked the weather lately! Gotta hit Paducah tomorrow morning for a cardiologist follow-up. Wanna have lunch?

I beleive that was actually "dating a hunter"... But I've occasionally thought about hunting down hunters too! To each his own, but I don't care to date someone who hunts, since I do wildlife rescue, it would be a huge conflict of interest. He would go out and shoot Bambi and I would be right there trying to save Bambi's life, bring him home, keep him in the garage until he was healthy, and keep him as a pet!

If I felt better I'd love to meet you in Paducah tomorrow Mitch but you don't want this virus thing let me know next time you go, I have a buy one get on free card for the Whalers Catch.

Barbie, I have a friend who found a baby deer along the road many years ago. It was smaller than her cat and the vet said it wouldn't live. Well, it did to the ripe old age of fourteen. The vet for her safety castrated it,(male deer will attack women at certain times of the month) & she built a 14 foot high fence around her yard. It was housebroken except when her in-laws came to visit then it would go upstairs and pee on the bed in the guest room! It was a buck and of course had large antlers. When we went for dinner she would put it in the yard and it would look accusingly at us through the sliding glass windows. So see if you rescue a baby deer it won't have to stay in your garage.

Cool story! Altho, I can't imagine having a full-sized buck with a rack wandering around inside the house! I hope it didn't sleep with them! It could put an eye out when you rolled over at night!

Can you imagine calling into work the next morning? "I can't come in today, I got my eye poked by a deer antler in bed", Boss says "I don't want to know any more details...hope you feel better soon!"
