TUESDAY WITH POURING RAIN

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

TUESDAY WITH POURING RAIN

Postby Nasoosie » Tue Mar 23, 2010 4:27 am

GOOD MORNING TO US ALL!

Tons of rain coming down, and it has been doing so all night long. Should be a real joy getting to my truck this morning! I am thinking I should probably go down cellar and find the fishing waders I know are there somewhere! At least the road salt will be all washed off from the topside of the truck, although I'll still need to take it to the do-it-myself car wash and slosh out the undersides.

I've been awake for over an hour since I awoke from a dream of packing a HUGE amount of camping stuff, including wet tents, sleeping bags, clothing, stoves, you name it, into a teeny little hatchback car I once had years ago! Things were going on in the background that had my brain reeling when I woke up-----storms, lost dogs, lost kids, deadlines that weren't being met, such as being late to classes or school or work, tents ripping, stakes missing, things not fitting into the teeny little trunk area------holy cow, but I am tired now! Maybe Echo's and Kelly's escapades have made me have these dreams!

Our pathological liar kid, who had been making such good progress at school, has regressed, stolen some money, lied about it, and gotten himelf assigned to internal suspension. This, for a kid with hyperactivity syndromes galore is akin to putting me, a claustrophobic, into a room with no windows and no exits. Needless to say, he has given the proctors of said room such grief he has extended his stay in there, thus making him even worse. When on earth will people in charge learn how to handle punishments for bad behavior without aggravating the entire situation by putting a kid into a corner from which he cannot escape? Unfortunately, as he is the loudmouth and major disruptor of our classroom, everybody else has had a calm and quiet few days while he has been absent. This makes the motivation to help that kid return to the room just a bit less important.

My comatose girl and her keeper of some type had a meeting with me (as the other assistant was absent yesterday and so I was actually included in a meeting!!) and the classroom teacher after school yesterday. Apparently the girl is now eligible for some more Social Secutity Disability monies each week, and the keeper wants us to help her pick out a computer for her to use at home. The girl, of course, is all excited about the computer, but the teacher and I emphasized the need for her to have access to healthier foods and new/second-hand clothes to cover her balooning body. The keeper had one thing on her mind, and that was the computer. Also, the girl had asked the keeper to find out if she could drop health class and gym classes, as they were causing her to have panic attacks! This is pure bull pippies, as I am with her in both of those classes. Good grief, those are the two classes she takes that she needs the most in order to survive to her 20th birthday. Both the classrrom teacher and I refused to even hear of such a request.

No wonder I have exhausting dreams!

Drive carefully, anybody out on those roads, and watch for flooding rains again in the east.

Come share a cup of coffee, and tell us about your day!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Wow, Soos :!: You DO NEED a vacation  I hope today is better for you! Thanks for reminding me that things can always be worse  Our rain moved on and now the sun is coming up, so it's a good day here! Supposed to be up to 70 today and 79 tomorrow...YIPPEE!!! Think I will wash my mtc, in preparation for a ride with friends tomorrow up to Cedar Key, FL for lunch. Haven't had much nice riding weather lately, so really looking forward to it! Will go for a nice long walk with the boys when I get off of the computer. Ran into friend, Dan, yesterday morning and we walked on the birding trails and up around a pond...nice! I don't feel comfortable going out there alone, so I'm glad me and the boys got to go. I actually ate breakfast already, instead of after my walk, so will get in 3 meals today. Have a great day, everyone!!!

Good Morning to All - we're still in McAllen, TX will be leaving tomorrow for either the San Antonio or Houston area - will know for sure when we get on the road. Weather is perfect here - cold nights and warm days.
Got a new laptop yesterday - couldn't say NO - under $400 for 15.6" screen, 320 hard drive and 4g Ram -lots of room for pictures!!! So spent most of yesterday loading things and hunting for things and trying to get rid of unwanted icons etc. Took a couple of trys to get some of the older programs to load. Was worried that Microsoft Office wouldn't load - a new program would have cost more than the computer. I use the professional one cause I have all my travel budget etc set up in Access
Don't like that the delete key is way up in the corner I use it a lot
The big problem I'm going to have is transfering all the stuff for my web pages - think I'll just keep working on them in the old one.
Keep safe and have a good day.

Raining here too at Why, AZ almost on the border of Mexico. It rained all night, I love to hear the drops pattering on the roof, but the wild burros must have moved into the campground. I swear they were honking just outside my door. Normally I like to hear them, but they were a wee bit close last night. Maybe they wanted in? Speaking of dreams. I dreampt, (why doesn't the past tense look right?) that I picked up two hitch hiking dogs and after I got on the road again they turned out to be wolves! I took it as a message - don't pick up hitch hikers whther they be dogs or people.

Great price on the laptop, Carol! What did you get and where did you get it? A couple of friends are looking at getting laptops so I'd like to pass your good fortune on to them.

Thanks!

Carol, I have been using my old computer for my websites, but this week it crashed, I think for the last time. Now I'm going to have to move pictures, etc. So, what I'm doing, is rebuilding using the master to the BV web builder - which stores the pictures - this doesn't happen - I'll pm or email you details about it later. Since I know we use the same programs, if you have to change/rebuild, I recommend this. Going to be busy today.

Like Sparkle, I listened to the rain and the burros all night. Funny, one of the guys from our singles forum was here for 2 nights, pulling out yesterday. He wanted to see or at least hear the burros. The first night he was here was the first night I never heard any! He did at least hear a few the 2nd night. He needed to stay one more night - he would have heard them for sure, and I'm positive if he'd wanted to go out with a flashlight, he would have seen some.

Well, we are in NC helping take care of the family while DIL recups from birthing and painting. Hectic as usual with all the gk's, but fun. Weather if fine, a little rain last night. Will be here until Friday and then back to Sarasota til the end of March. Haven't decided where we will go afterwards, but need to be back in NC by the 19th of April to leave for Holland. Sparkle, I'm not positive, but think the past tense of dream is just dreamed. You can use helping verbs in some instances, like "I have dreamed about----". Of course, if I wanted to be positive I could google  but your meaning was clear. carold

Feeling almost back to normal. My body still aches from the drive. We're supposed to get more snow tonight. Everyone wish for a snow day so I can finish up the 90 billion loads of laundry piled in my hallway.

Had a cream filled doughnut for breakfast. Hey, I'm back in Colorado and don't need to even think about swimsuits for a few more months.

No new laptop for me, but I did upgrade my ATT aircard today. So far it is much more user friendly and might even be a bit faster. My old laptop that was set up for the original aircard will not shutdown without simply crashing Windows.
It's time for my techie nephews to take over that one and I will use my Acer netbook with new upgraded aircard. Yay!

It's a perfect spring day in central CA. I went out for a walk on an old railroad (to trail) today with a friend and her Jack Russell. We were disappointed to find a conservation crew from local prison working on the trail. Good for the trail but not so good for our hike. We turned around about a mile out before catching up with that work crew. Aborted hike could only mean going out to lunch, so off we went to the local apple ranch for homemade goodies.

A fun day so far, but now time to work, I still have tons of yard work to do here before my turn to Austin next week.
Probably will do an hour or so of mowing now and then maybe weeding flower beds in evening. Love the long days!

(Hang on Soos! Your vacation is just around the corner!)

Diana where are you in Central CA live right next to Pismo Beach on the coast. If you're near, PM me.

We had some fog this AM so I went out to the MH and started it up and ran the generator with the AC load. Everything seemed to
be OK. Hope to head out in a week or so.

Have a great day all.
