MONDAY WITH 4 DAYS 'TIL MY VACATION!!

GOOD MORNING ALL!

The bears, Lily and her cub, Hope, had me anxious yesterday. When I logged into the live cam, I found the den very empty. This was a concern, as little Hope is still very unsteady on her feet, and I hadn't seen how she got out of there. Then, a short while later, Lily dived into the den, blew a warning, and I could hear a dog barking outside. She immediately got back out of the den and remained outside until darkness was setting in last night. I could hear her sounds and sounds I thought were Hope a distance from the microphone, and later, sounds I KNEW were from Hope, so I relaxed a bit. Then, as you can read in the log report beneath the live cam picture, I guess Lilly dragged the camera and microphone into the den, making it impossible to see anything, although the sound was still good. When I heard both of them back in the den safe and sound, with Hope making her comfy purring/nursing sounds, I went to bed feeling much better! It's interesting that I have now transferred my worrying about my own kids to a 'friend's' furry, 4-footed kid! The weather has the bears confused along with the humans who are observing them, as it's unseasonably warm. I LOVE that site, and the reports from Lynn and Sue as they carry on their research.

Coffee is hot and I stoked up my woodstove to stay nice and warm this morning. Molly came in and went directly to her pad next to the stove! It's not very cold out, just a bit below freezing, but the warmth feels so good.

Four days this week, and then my vacation begins! I have no plans for it, other than to possibly drive to PA to visit my brother and 'camp' out on his beautiful glassed-in sun room where flowers will be blooming, deer and foxes and other critters walk by each morning, and where Molly and I can go walking in Valley Forge Park each day. I will go visit my daughter in her new house just an and a half away from here, too. This is my first vacation time with no cats to worry about, and it's bitter-sweet....I miss my Twitch, but I don't miss the having to arrange for care for him when I want to go somewhere.

Spring has sprung, everywhere but in my yard! Keep in touch, you all, and drive safely. Check in when you are able.

How nice that you are excitedly planning your vacation time. That trip to PA sounds like just the thing to help you relax and enjoy those days. I know just how you feel...I'll be spending this wee in preparation & anticipation of leaving Sunday for the TX gtg. I have planned a leisurely trip with some interesting stops along the way, I hope. I hope to visit with Vickie & dh on the return trip.

I've been enjoying watching little Hope grow & her interactions with Lily too. Glad they got the camera repositioned.

Tonight I'm taking a friend out for a birthday dinner. Wishing everyone here a great day full of adventure!

I have to admit that I look forward to your posts, Soos! You have to be the most interesting girl I "know" I can't wait to meet you!!! Your trip sounds nice I have to go get a birthday card off to my granddaughter, Maddie, today. She will be 7 on the 26th...Hard to believe! Where does the time go? I will put money in her college fund and a little in her card. She is good with that and understands why I do that. Her other gma spoils her with "stuff" so I invest in her future and take her to do adventurous things. I told her she could stay with me in the mh when I go visit. She loves it, as does her big sis, Lexi, who will be 11 soon. It is pretty windy here this morning. Sunny, but clouds have blown in so not sure if it will rain. It is 61, with a predicted high of 65, so not too bad. Wed & Thurs to be up around 80! That's what I'm talkin' about!!! I started my job hunt for next winter. Looking for workamper jobs in southern CA.

Got in about 7 last night. Long, windy drive. There were a couple of gusts that took ten years off my life. Now it's Monday and back to work (in addition to taxes and homework) wheee.

Good afternoon all. The snow is just about gone. It will be about 60 and sunny today and 70 tomorrow. Now that's spring.

Soos, the trailer you looked at sounds real nice, maybe they will do a trade on yours (if your snow melts ). Anyway, I'm going to their website and take a look. Since we had more snow and rain, the ground again is way too soft for me to get the truck in the backyard and load up the camper. I guess we are in the same position, having a RV and not being able to get to it. We are having our RV show this weekend. Think I will go see if there is something I can get that will fit in the garage and avoid this whole soggy, wet backyard issue.

HELLO SISTAHS!!!

Yeah I know it's the afternoon. But here I am, 'Ta Da'! Whew, it's freaking warm out here! We are sitting in the screen room sweating our butts off. If only it really would sweat off! But no, then I would have a problem with going to the potty. So fat as it is I guess I had better be glad I have it. It's been getting up into the 80's here during the day and in the 50's at night. Love the night temps!! We ended up buying a 20" box fan which helps.

We had to go buy Kelly a new tent as her zippers on the other one totally screwed up and would not zip up at all. If we had been able to get at least some of it to zip and stay together we could have sewn the split part shut. But nooooooo! So we got the new one. It's an 8x10 so she's loving the extra room but we both think the fly on the smaller one gave better coverage. With the coyotes here and we know it will rain again, we didn't want to take the chance of 'anything' being able to get in because of not being able to zip the tent closed.

Boy this place sure is getting deserted! Sooooo many people have left that we now have NO neighbors close to us. It's not that they moved sites cause we stink or anything! There are 4 of us in our row, 5 across the drive from us and only 1 in the row behind us. It's looking like a ghost town here. Everyone's moving on to 'greener' places I guess and maybe cooler ones too. Next week we have to pay our April site fee. It has to be in by the 31st for April or else they will start charging $22 per nite as they consider April 1st the beginning of the 'summer' season. $250 for the month even tho we wont be staying that whole time is a lot cheaper than $22 per night. Bites tho as we are paid up until April 9th to be exact. ~sigh~ Tho I think I will check out the campgrounds in Kanab UT to see what the cost up there would be. Maybe the same or a little cheaper? And we'd be closer to the Lodge that way too. Hmmm?
