Dang, lost my post. Cuz I clicked the wrong button as Linda sent hers in at the same time. But that means I saw the pic of Liz - and Linda figured out photobucket. Great.

Absolutely wonderful pics, Liz - did you get a waterproof camera - or were you trusting of yourself to not get yours wet?

Linda, what kind of inflatable do you have? I'm going to get one before going back to the Baja. Borrowed one down there and loved it. Don't have room or capability to get anything but an inflatable - and have a couple I like from learning (lots down there have them) but would love your thoughts.

Glad the 2 of you were able to get together and have such a great day!

Wish I would have taken more, Liz. Couldn't zoom in enough. At least you can see the kayak for reference when you shop for yours :D Thanks for the photo help! Thought I'd never get it!

Beth...It's a Stearns. We have the red one you see that is one person and also a yellow 2 person. Liz fit in the one person nicely. I usually use the 2 person because I am tall and take a lot of stuff. I do like them! Liz really liked it, too. Think she may get one to take along in her class b since it comes with a bag. I'm bummed about my camera. It quit on me, so had to use my phone camera. It will take pretty good pics, but too tough to change the settings when out there on the river. Glad I finally figured out how to get pics transferred on here. Hope I remember it!

Sheila...Kind of hard to use that raft in the desert! Glad you could enjoy through our pictures. Would be fun to try to get a big GTG someday where we could all kayak/canoe/raft/tube or whatever together, wouldn't it? May have to work on that!

Hey! Notice I put a pic at the bottom now? Look out...I may be getting good at this! Will have to change it when I get my new mh.

Great pics Liz!! You must have one heck of a zoom on your camera (and a steady hand) to get such clear close-ups! I love the otter photo (can't imagine why! ). When I was down there, Cathy assured me that there were no alligators around there. I think she lied! I would be worried that they could crawl right up onto the kayak, and especially concerned about being in an inflatable kayak and having a gator chomp on it before chomping on me! Yikes!
Alligators aside, it looks like you had a great day! Perfect company, perfect scenery, and perfect weather! Can't ask for more than that!

Linda, you've got one big a$$ rig! How big is that thing?

Thanks, Liz! Not bad, but will have to get a new camera or get mine fixed. Barbie...It's a 2008 Itasca Ellipse 40TD...a big a$$ diesel pusher! We traded in our 37' gas mh after we went full time. Fun to drive and nice ride! Will feel strange, I'm sure, to drive my 34' Pace Arrow gas mh, but J can afford this payment and I can't. I will fit into spots better, park myself easier, etc., too....though not nearly as easy as the girls with class b's and c's!

GREAT pics from both of you! Thanks so much for sharing this great river trip! I can't WAIT to get down there and get my super-light-weight (18 pound) canoe on these rivers.I have a set of retractable outriggers for my canoe, so Molly can go with me, too, and yet we can still fit through narrow passageways. I can also pack overnight camping supplies (tent, stove, sleeping bag, etc.) in my canoe. The best thing is, it fits into my trailer for transport! How heavy is your non-inflatable kayak, Linda? And is there room to pack overnight camping gear? Kayaks would be better in the rain, I would think!

Great way to begin my day here, on the wilder side of FL!

Soos...My hard side kayak probably weighs 45 lbs...not exactly light! Would like to know more about your canoe...it sounds AWESOME!!! It must fold up? I think you will get wet no matter what you're in if it rains and I'm not going white water. I do go on rivers in IA and they are rocky, with a lot of riffles. They are exciting, but I take the hard kayak since there is a lot of scraping going on. There is "dry" storage in it and some space up in front of my feet. Also some bungee type tie downs on top, up front. I've never taken it overnight, but could. Think the canoe would be easier for that. Read the other thread from my gtg wih Liz. I hope we can paddle together sometime. You sound like a real outdoorswoman!

As usual great photos. That kind of river is what I like to go on, glass. No wind. Ah...

Linda,
It's very possible you have the Stearns model that's on my short list (they make many). However, the one on my short list has been discontinued - who knows why - it has the best reviews on line of any of their inflatables. So, I'm still looking at other Stearns models - and also looking at one by Advanced Elements.

We actually talked to people out in inflatable kayaks in the bay that had been using $80 kayaks for 10 years! I was amazed. But they never leave without taking glue, etc, and often have to use it. I would not go that route. I want one that the shell is a heavier covering with the inflatable inside it.

Again, thanks for sharing.
