FRIDAY---YAY!!!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

FRIDAY---YAY!!!

Postby Nasoosie » Fri Mar 19, 2010 4:25 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!

A bit below freezing, which means my driveway will be frozen for my walk out, and, as I don't have to be at school until an hour later this morning for the Supt.'s day, it will also be daylight!!!!----YIPPEE! Isn't it amazing what little things can make me so happy!

Half the day will be spent in the large group instruction room, and the afternoon might mean I can escape and come home early, as, with no kids at school, I have no need to be there and do anything whatsoever. The other two teachers in my room will be off to Malone for another type of meeting, so it looks as if I'll be on my own. I will be only too happy to come home early.

Maybe I can take some pictures of my still deep snow and mud this afternoon, as well as our new sign coming into Vermontville which says "Home of Billy Demong, gold and silver medal winner in the 2010 Winter Olympics" or something like that!

For anyone who hasn't visited the live bear den camera site lately, the mom, Lily, is now leaving her little cub, Hope, alone for more than a half hour at a time while she is outside doing whatever mama bears do. Hope is trying to learn how to walk in the den, and keep her balance! It is great fun to watch, and you get great views of the little furball without her being buried under mama's fur. I have learned a great deal about our black bears from this wonderful site and the many daily entries written by the people involved in the study. Soon I will try to get my game camera to function again, and set the sensitivity down to a level where I will capture only animals and NOT waving grasses or tree branches throughout the days and nights! Perhpas I can find out what critters I have passing by on my animal trails this year.

Coffee is hot and tastes good, and I will be looking forward to seeing what you all have planned for the day. I have plenty of time this morning to read my email and my other forum posts before I have to head off this morning. Happy Friday to us all!

Good morning ladies! The TV is saying today is the last full day of winter....hooray! Appropriately, it is supposed to get into the mid 70s later. I'm planning to meet up with Linda (bikerchic777)....for lunch and then kayaking on the Rainbow River. Should be fun!

Next week I'll be busy getting things ready for a trip to the Texas gtg....I am so ready for a trip to somewhere. As usual, I've been enjoying researching the route....cgs & other sites I want to see along the way. I washed the exterior of my mh with the blue wash & wax stuff this week, but will wait until the worst of the pollen season to give it a good wax job before the summer trip.

Hope your days begin to look more springlike too.

Good morning all. It is sunny today and according to the weather report will get to the high 60's-seems an odd thing to be wishing for in FL. Have a friend coming over from Venice today to spend some time in the sun at the pool area and we're getting ready to leave for about a week for NC to help out with our new GD-Vivian Grace (9 lbs 13 oz @21 inches long) and 6 other GK's. I expect to be exhausted when we return. Since DH is coming to do some painting while there, we are hoping he can fix the van so we can pull our toad and then just drive it back, while we leave the van at their house where it will reside this year. We no longer have our convenient parking area at his mother's house. Soos, glad to hear your day is looking reasonably bright and looking forward to the pics. Liz and bikerchic777, enjoy your day-nice that you are close and enjoy the same outdoor pleasures. Looking forward to your ALWAYS fabulous pics.carold

Good Morning All - after changing my watch yesterday I'm surprised to find the sun just coming up and 15 to 8 here in TX.- The Driver is not feeling well. He has a horrible cold and spent most of yesterday in bed and probably today too. Why do men get so sick???? - We have been salivating waiting to get back to the states to have a GOOD steak - well went to big chain restaurant the first night we were here and the service was terrible (the place was almost empty) took 20 minutes to get a waiter another 15 to get our drinks and 1 hour for the food. The manager was standing around joking with the bartender and waiters. The steak was good though. Then yesterday morning went to another chain breakfast restaurant and neither of us got what we ordered - yes we ordered in English - and each item on the plate - including the toast - was either under or over cooked. Neither of us ate. What a disappointment! Again the manager was not managing - he was yelling at the cooks and waitpersons so loud you could hear him all over the place. Our waitress was almost in tears. What is with these people?
Did enjoy wandering around a huge mall here in McAllen and a great supermarket. And we have the TV working too. Simple things. After a period of time - it's nice to come home.
I checked into getting some of my prescriptions in Mexico - for us with our insurance it is much cheaper to get them in the US. Even though this year one went from $10 to $100 for 90 days supply. In MX it was $40 for 30 days....
Probably work on my web page and try to update my blog and maybe do laundry today -
Take care everyone - have a good day.

Morning!
The RVing world here seems to be starting with Liz planning her trip to TX, carold planning her trip to see that new grandbaby (congrats), Liz and bikerchick having a GTG, Amy and Bobby returning from their trip etc.
I talked with my SIL this morning and he's not going to be able to get my new battery in my MH for a couple weeks. He works nights and sleeps during the day and on his days off he has lots to do. He's always so busy and offered to come help me on his way home from work one morning, but I hate keeping him awake when he needs to be home sleeping. I probably won't be taking the MH out any time soon, so I can be patient. ;)
Another warm day forecasted here. Near 70! The clear days makes for clear nights which means freezing temps. We've had frost these past couple mornings It doesn't seem to bother the blooms as I guess they are use to thriving in this type weather.
No headache this morning and my bp was nice and low, but a certain phone call got it back up again. I made the call back to my Dr as she wanted a report today on who my numbers were since taking me off the "happy pills". Will see what she decides for me next.
Next week my DD and har family are going to San Diego. Part of her Christmas present was a week of working out with her favorite DVD exercise gal. My DD has been faithfully exercising every day since high school and she's now 39. Wish I had an ounce of her dicipline!
Soos, you know we have been waiting for those pictures from you critter trails. Hope you get that figured out. Can't wait!
Take care all!

I do my own batteries,... in fact I have to take it out in the fall and put it back in the spring. Yes, they are heavy, but it can be done a little distance at a time. Sometimes Lenora it seems like we can only count on ourselves, doesn't it? :D

Good afternoon all. Going to be a beautiful day today, in the low 70's and sunny. Tomorrow will bring a 40 degree drip in temp and rain and somewhere around 2-5 inches of snow, so happy spring to us. :D

Liz and Linda (bikerchick777) have a good lunch and kayak adventure. Asirimarco, Sorry to hear that your first attempts at "American" food have not been too good, with service like that I would have left. Carold, congrats on the new GD and have fun with the other 6 GKs. Lenora, I too would try and replace the battery on my own. Maybe the person at the storage place can help you lift it to get it in place in the MH. My niece and I managed to get my new battery into the camper lifting it together. Just a thought.

Take care all. Linda

I think Lenora said it's her motor battery that's bad. I have always had good luck with Sears batteries and they will install it for you if you can get there. My DH goes to Auto Zone for his truck batteries. I carry an electric battery charger that you can jump a vehicle with if you have to. I got it to charge my boat battery but you can use it on any kind. I have started my motor home by starting the generator and plugging the charger in with an extension cord and connecting the charger to the battery.

I hate to be in a restaurant when the manager is acting high and mighty and cutting down the staff in front of everyone. They don't know how to get the best from their workers. I'm sure it makes them resentful.

My DH gave me what he thought was a sinus infection and mine has turned into a bad cough. The cough medicine and drops make my stomach hurt. Sure hope I don't have to go to the doctor.

Liz & bikerchic777 (Linda) have a great lunch and kayak trip! Hope you have beautiful weather like we are having in CA - almost 80 today.

Carold - Congrats and enjoy that new grandbaby. I got to see my new twin (boy/girl) grandbabies earlier this week. They sure are precious, still tiny and are one month today.

Lenora - Hope you get your batteries changed out so you can get out and about in your good weather.

Everyone else, hope everything goes good and you all have a great weekend.

From another Linda.

We're staying in Albuquerque one more night. I was too tired to battle the weather and whatever else was coming on the trip back home. Bobby was okay with it when he discovered that we could get the Disney channel.

Very windy and rainy here. Kept waiting for the rv to flip over. Guess that doesn't really happen. Does it?....?

I could probably switch out the battery myself if I could figure out how to get the flippin' hood up!! I released it from inside and then couldn't find the latch under the hood. I ran my hand back and forth, pushed, pulled left, pull right, pushed left, pushed right on everything that felt like it could have been the latch :) . I even about stood on my head to see under there, but to no avail. I checked out the manuel and it said to pull the lever inside and then push the latch under the hood front. DUH!
Perhaps tomorrow I'll go try it again. ;)

Lenora, since you said that, I'm wondering if when you released your hood with the latch inside, but didn't open it all the way and close it back, could be that the under the hood light was on and stayed on and that ran your battery down. Just a thought. :D

No, it popped up a few inches after I pulled the lever inside and then I pushed it back down when I couldn't find the latch. But good thinking. thanks
