HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Postby Nasoosie » Wed Mar 17, 2010 4:21 am

GOOD MORNING TO US ALL!

I will need to dig out some green clothes today to keep with the festivities of St. Pat's Day. I carried in about 35 dollars worth of groceries yesterday in my backpack, and today I'll bring in a 12-pack of Michelob Ultra beer in cans so I can have my traditional green beer after school! (Better check to be sure I have some green food coloring, too!)

The sun was warm and beautiful yesterday, and Molly and I sat out in it after school. I tried to throw her ball around the parking lot area for her, but the snow was too soft and mixed with mud for her liking! She HATES to get her feet wet or muddy at all! So we took to the warm, dry deck and soaked up some rays while listening to Direct TV music. I am so sorry that they changed music providers from the one they had before to a new one that doesn't have my favorite channel, The Village. The one they say is like The Village is NOT at all like it. Oh well-----so I now listen to 60s Revolution music.

There is a health fair in the gym at school today, and I am hoping my school kids will be spending a lot of time there as they all need to explore healthy ways of living and eating and sleeping, etc.

Temperature is below freezing again this morning, so my walk out will be less sucky (literally, as the deep mud tries to suck the boots off my feet when I walk in after school!) than it will be later. Still no news from the kids in FL, so I guess they are busy making choices and decisions themselves.

I saw that, up against my house under the protective eaves, my crocus leaves are poking up!!! I am so excited to see my old friends each year after the long winters! It always amazes me how hardy they are and that they are actually still alive! My next job will be to get rid of my old wild raspberry canes from in front of my deck to allow the new bushes to grow. But that will be a long time from now as the snow down there is still very deep. I always hate that prickly job, but it sure does look good when the new green bushes begin to grow.

Coffee is hot and good, so stop by and tell us about your day! New Englanders should be happy to see some sunshine and dry weather after that mini-hurricane they experienced over the weekend!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY TO EVERYONE!

Good morning all!

Well, I'm not of Irish descent, but if I go anywhere today, I'll try to remember some green. I had my corned beef and cabbage a week ago, compliments of a lady at our Christian women's fellowship.

Yesterday, when I could tear myself away from my new Mac, I washed the exterior of the rv. Had to do half, rest, then the other half....it really needed it. It needs a good wax job too, but think I'll wait until the worst of the pollen has fallen....it'll need washing again then.

I bought tire covers for the new rv tires to protect them from the FL sun. First time I've used those, but want these tires to last as long as practical.

Now I need to quit buying stuff so I can afford to travel .

Today is housework, laundry, and maybe some trimming in the yard (doubtful due to rain in the forecast).

I'm looking forward to meeting Linda (bikerchic777) for lunch & kayaking on Friday.

Have a good day everyone.

Top O the Mornin'!
Nope, no Irish in me! German, English, French, and Native American I am. Was married to an Irishman. Nuff said....
Like Liz, I already had my corned beef and cabbage. Love it but don't make it often as corned beef is fatty and salty.

Still dark here at 6AM but the weather is forecasted to be balmy for the remainder of the week/weekend. One said almost 70 on one day. We'll see.
I'm getting antsy to de-winterize my MH. Not sure what all that entails. I assume hooking up to water and running the pump? Anyone with answers please respond.

Just coffee so far, but my tummy is growling so I suppose I need to go forage for something. I did find a box of Nonni's biscotti that I had purchased a while back. Chocolate, and I assume they are still good as they are wrapped individually, naturally hard as a rock, and probably full of preservatives! :o

Have a super day everyone!

Happy St. Pat's! I think my ancestors visited Ireland, but that's as close as it got. Meeting Ava for coffee later (in real life!).

Hope you all have a lucky day and no one is feeling truly green later. (Easy on the green beer, Soos.)

Happy St. Patty's Day to you all, too! Took my usual morning walk with Rags and Gizmo. Errand day here. Running low on important things like my favorite cereal and bananas. I'm a breakfast girl, so those ARE necessities ;) While out, I will probably have to stop somewhere for a reuben sandwich. I used to do the whole corned beef and cabbage thing in the crock pot, but I don't want to eat all the leftovers. The sandwich gives me my "fix" ;) I will skip the green beer. Something about the food coloring turns me off  I know I will likely pay the price for eating the sandwich, but won't be able to resist! We won't discuss today's menus on the healthy forum, OK? I am also excited about meeting Liz for lunch and kayaking on Fri. You know, I've had pen pals off and on since I was 11 yrs old, from all over the world, and never got to meet any of them. I just recently joined this forum and I already get to meet someone! This is so cool 8-) I hope I get to meet a lot more of you in the future!!!

Yep, this is a grand forum and we do like to meet. So glad you can meet someone so soon after joining.

As to St. Paddy's day- I'm a mutt - and it includes Irish - but I don't eat corned beef or cooked cabbage and I'm not wearing green. I guess it's like bah humbug for me lol. Although I must say, I used to LOVE when I was in Chicago on St. Patrick's Day. If any city knows how to do this day right, Chicago does. Turns the Chicago River green and everything. When I worked downtown, they let us off work early on St. Paddy's day (most of us) because getting out of the city could be next to impossible. Have a gigantic parade and everything.

Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Soos, my son told me about an internet radio station called Pandora. You can create your own station by putting in an artist you like. It will play music by that artist and other music like it. You can either approve each song or reject it and it will never play again. I think you can listen to 40 hours a month for free and each month your 40 hours starts over. I have a station I call my beach music to get me in the mood to camp. lol

Afternoon all. There is no green in St. Pats day for me. My septic tank backed up, EEWWWWWW! Waiting on Roto rooter to pump me out. All was fine this AM when I used the facilities, then decided to do a load of towels and it all backed up. I used a snake outside at the pipe and there was no clog. Guess it is just full. EEWWWW again. The floor in my bathroom was just the laundry rinse water and soap, the showers and bathtubs were another story and at least everything was contained there. Another good point to having an rv, I'm now calling the camper my outhouse.

Everyone do enjoy your day and be careful out there. Linda

Dang! Forgot about the pictures. Yes, met Ava. She's amazing, funny, and interesting. I'd love to meet again. Let me know when you're back in Colorado, Ava. I leave tomorrow to head back to Denver. Not sure about the weather, but I'll deal with whatever, I suppose.

:D YES, we had a great little breakfast at Wendys, was on my break from work, but
Amy is a great gal!!! and yes, next time I'm on a visit in Denver we'll meet up. It was
fun, although I'll admit thinking Amy probably thought I never shut up  ooh, I
wonder if Beth and Sparkle thought that when they came through here. (but the silence
is so deaf'ning when I have nothing to say)
Have a safe trip Amy, don't worry about the snow, your safer driving your rv than your
car. But of course be careful.
