HAPPY NASUS DAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

HAPPY NASUS DAY

Postby Nasoosie » Mon Mar 15, 2010 7:56 am

HERE I AM! Good Morning, everybody!

Today is March 15, the Ides, and the day I have called Nasus Day since I read Julius Caesar in the 6th grade with my mother. My best friend, Meredith, who died just a couple of years ago of a brain tumor, and I always took Nasus Day off from school and it's been a habit of mine ever since. Hence, I am home and slept in late! It's blustery today---windy and very heavy snow flurries, but very pretty now that I am awake...we have about 2 inches of new snow---maybe more. This is a personal day for me each year. Our personal days don't carry over like our sick days do, so I need to use them first.

I have a couple of phone calls I need to make today during regular business hours, and that's about it. I will also attempt to get out and un-snow my wood piles so I can build up my fire and have it tropical in here again! Molly will like that the muck is covered and might get to run a bit out there.

I haven't heard from my son and Melissa about the house they looked at yesterday, and that could mean it's good, or that could mean it's bad, or that could mean they just forgot how exciting the place looked online to me! Anyway, I am waiting to hear from them via email with some pics that I hope they took yesterday.

Here's hoping you all will have a decent day and that those winds and rains will finally move off the coast of New England. I heard one news broadcaster say this storm should have been named a hurricane as it did more damage than many older, named hurricanes, like Donna, and some others. My brother was high and dry on his hill, but many of his neighbors have trees and wires down in their yards and on their houses. It's been a wild and different winter, for sure.

Time for hot coffee, get dressed in snow-shoveling clothes, and bring in some more firewood. Happy Monday to us all. I plan to enjoy another Nasus Day with Molly!

Happy travels!

Good morning all!

Happy Nasus Day to you Soos! :D It's also my grandson's 20th b'day! Now how did he get to be that old? Does that mean that I am 20 years older? ACK!

Overcast day here, no new snow, very little rain, actually just enough to dampen the deck a couple of times. Also no wind to speak of. So we will just continue to march forward to spring. I'm sorry for those that have suffered damage with this storm, I guess it was mostly a coastal hullabaloo. I will be very glad to see warm and sunny days return tomorrow with temps in the 50s.

I have five junior and senior boys in the computer lab doing research for their art projects. All is well here,...

I'll be looking forward to hearing about your kids plans Soos. Will they buy before the FL house sells? The place they are going to look at sounds fantastic. I'll hope for good news on that front! :D

Altho the weather has been beautiful here for the past several days, with only one chilly day. Hope everyone has a great week!

Happy Nasus Day
Soos - So glad to have you back posting again. Think we all have to go thru those temporary insanity days now and then in order to clear the mind for new thinking. Mine usually happens in the winter months too. Glad you have today off and hope you get to enjoy every minute of it. I whole heartily agree that this forum can be a lifeline at times and we are so lucky to have found one another.
Echo - Glad to hear from you as well. Too bad you cannot harness some of that wind to work for you. Maybe it will go away soon.
Mitch - When do we get to see photos of you new fitness center?
The buttercups are finally blooming here, almost a full month late this year. We had one nearly perfect weather day last week and mostly rain since and it is continuing to rain this week. I need some sunshine.
I made way too much coffee this morning so there is plenty to share. Have to warn you that it is on the strong side so some of you will want to water it down a bit.
Stay safe, dry and warm out there.

Happy Nasus Day to you. Build yourself a nice toasty fire and warm your hands on the coffee cup.

The sun is shining here again, and it's supposed to be in the high 50s. So it's back to the garden-patch
cleanup. Maybe I'll pick up several bags of compost to make the soil happy. That's it for me. Have
a good day everyone!

Sqeaking in as it's just a tad past 11 in the PNW! The sun is shining and I believe the forecast is for low to mid 60s!! Then back to more normal of 50s for highs.
I worked out at Curves this morning. First time back since "the incident". I really felt the tremors in my legs! SO I'm certainly going to keep the appt I have for next month with the neurologist. Crap, so much for growing old quietly! ;)
Today is Danica, (my middle GDs), birthday. a whopping 10 she is! I got her a couple Saddle Club books. Saddle Club is an ongoing show on TV set in Australia at a horse riding school for kids. She's my horse crazy GD.
Nothing much else to report. BP is holding ok. So far I feel no ill effects of the new prescription. Same with the "happy pills", but am awaiting for the 'happy' part to kick in. :D
Well, need to think about lunch. I made corned beef/cabbage and potatoes in the crockpot a couple days ago and am still noshing on that. I love corned beef, but not with all the spices that comes in the packet with the meat. I also trim as much of the fat off the meat before cooking.
Soos, let us know asap when you hear any news on the house. Happy birthday to Nancy's GS. Hope Amy and Bobby have arrived at their destination safely. She was putting on allot of miles in some nasty driving weather/roads.
Have a good one!

The Ides of March is one that I take note of too, seems like when big life changing events have happened to me it has been on or very near this day. So...I'm sitting around wondering if this will be one of those years or if it will pass quietly!
It is cloudy and unpleasant out & I'm thinking afternoon coffee would hit the spot.
Take care all.
