Monday's Musings

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday's Musings

Gosh, where is everyone? Ok, I'll set the table. So far only coffee is made but help yourself to fresh fruit, toast, yogurt or oatmeal.
Ole Man Winter is raising his head this week! Brrrr! We are in the low 40s this morning and suppose to drop down below freezing with a chance of snow tomorrow! All those pretty little daffodils and crocuses aren't going to like that, nor the blooms on the plum trees.
Today I think I'm going to pre-bowl as I forgot and made a Dr appt for tomorrow that's going to overlap with my regular bowling schedule. I also NEED to get out to the MH and run the genny. Still haven't gotten a new battery for the engine, either.
My friend that has been workamping at Q is on her way up this way. She and her sister left Q cause the restaurant they were working at just doesn't have any customers. She said the two weeks they had the rockhounds doings it was packed but now Q's a ghost town.
Well, that's all I know! Hope everyone is well and I wish you all a great day!

Good morning gals, its really cold and lots of rain! But the weatherman says clearing
and warmer by wednesday :D
I'm on spring break but my technical students do go in this week so I will go in and
drive the bus just for that one run. Other than that, I'm just hanging out with the
doggies and trying to stay warm.
Enjoy your day and be safe.

Good morning! It's sunny and beautiful on the east coast of southern FLorida. Wind had died down and temps are supposed to get around 75 today. I'm feeling the beach in my future. I brought in some Panera Bread cinnamon crunch bagels and walnut cream cheese. Help yourself. Have a great day! 8-)

It rained all day yesterday so in the evening Beth and I watched a video in her rig and ate popcorn. We watched The Songcatcher about this woman music proffesor who goes to North or South Carolina we presume, it was never specified and records all the old mountain songs. It was really good. I've sent for My Sisters Keeper, remember that book some of us reviewed. It didn't last long in the theatres and was real cheap on Amazon, so we'll see what its like. I'm also going to get an appointment with a real Doctor today. Its bad when even your dog won't sleep with you because you cough all night.

Morning...
It is a chilly morning here.. I guess they say winter is to arrive this week. Nothing like showing up at the end of the winter season.
Had a great weekend ...busy..flew to Idaho and picked up my mom's old car. Then drove it back here to Bellingham. My GF Erica went with me so we had a nice mom's weekend away.

We laugh..yesterday I was running the AC in the Yakima River Canyon..and then the heat by the time I was over the mountains and into the rain again.

I have to say...if you ever find yourself on I-90...take the 821 through the Yakima River Canyon. It really doesn't take that much longer. Well for us it did as we stopped at the 3 of the BLM campgrounds/day use areas along the river to scope it out.

Today will back into the somewhat of the routine. I do have a play to take older DS 13, to. It is called CSI Live. Should be interesting and fun.

Kodie sends a Thank you to.... A. Friend for a postcard from Wisconsin with a cow.

It was about 27 degrees when I got to school this morning, and the wind is making it feel like the dead of winter. The sun is mostly behind clouds, but out now and then.

My driveway hasn't even begun to really bottom out as yet, but the parking lot by the house is getting undrivable. I may have to back into the driveway starting tonight, and go as far as possible before the ruts start to appear. Most of the driveway is still frozen solid, with some snow and ice all over it. It promises to be a very lengthy mud season this year.

Sparkle, I am very happy to see you are going to go to a real doctor and see what's up with this persistent cough, and I hope you will mention the weight loss, too.

I am in study hall now, and looking forward to my first food of the day, as I never eat breakfast. Another half hour and I will be good.

Thanks for the coffee, and I hope you all are having a fun day!

I just saw a robin in my backyard. Does that mean that spring is here? We have some more rain that will move in probably by noon. Sure hope we don't have any flooding with all the rain we have had and the snow melt from the north. They were talking about levees in danger of breaking and towns stockpiling sand bags on the news.

I finished pruning my rose bushes yesterday and got that mess picked up. I need to get the weed eater out but doubt that will happen before the rain gets here. My DH saw me trying to move the rose canes 2 at a time and ask me why I didn't get one of the stall forks from the barn. Duh! That was a lot quicker and less painful.

Good morning. When I first got up the sun was shining and it looked like it was going to be a beautiful day but now the snow, yes snow ~ the first since November ~ is coming down. It probably won't stay around as it is also trying to rain at the same time. I even turned the furnace on this morning because it was quite chilly here in the motor home.

Had a good weekend visiting with family and friends and a great church service with communion. We helped serve since we won't be able to do that for the next six months. Today I am going to straighten up the motor home again, write a new post to my blog and then we are going to a friends for dinner. While there I am going to do a load of laundry too.

We did have one mishap yesterday. When hubby set up the motor home on Friday he put the awning out and when we came home from church, dinner with family and visiting friends the awning was down and at an awkward angle. Hubby put it down, thankfully there were no rips in the awning but a piece of the leg had gotten broken. Now we have to get the parts to fix the leg before we can use the awning again. The only thing we can figure is that a gust of wind came up sometime during the day and pulled it from its perch. Lesson learned ~ don't leave the awning out when going to be gone for the whole day.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

LESSON: DON'T LEAVE THE AWNING OUT AT ALL IF YOU'RE GOING TO BE GONE EVEN FOR A FEW MINUTES. Only takes a gust to tear your awning.

I have to concur...if we are not at the site..the awning is closed. We only have it open if we are there. We learned that the first week of owning our trailer.

I use an awning tie-down strap and anchors. it goes over the top of the awning. secures it well for day to day life, if windy weather is expected it gets rolled in.

Sparkle, I've been sick these last three weeks ... and the last week have had THE cough. I hadn't slept in two nights, so went to the doc. They gave me **drugs** yesterday, and told me the prescription would (a) help me sleep (b) control the cough and (c) act as an antihistamine. After I took it my cough went from *cough-cough-cough* to *wheeeeeeeeeeeze* and almost convulsions. Again, no sleep.

Today I'm doing better -- got off that #!$% stuff. Still coughing ... did get a nap this afternoon. Don't know what tonight will bring. But if I get psychotic from lack of sleep, you all will be among the first to know.

They're coming to take me away, HO HO HEE HEE HA HA To the funny farm, where life is beautiful all the time ...

Is that from experience Karen? Too bad added expense you don't need, right?

Well, awnings can come out while driving, too. I speak from experience. Not a pleasant thing, especially if you're going down a major freeway. There are locks that can be easily installed to prevent them from unrolling while driving. They're inexpensive and certainly worth it to prevent any accidents. I'd rarely used my awning, so thought it'd be fine. Joke was on me ...

If you're interested in the awning locks let me know. I'll dig up the information. I have an electric awning on the new trailer so don't have to worry about it now.

BTW, the cost of replacing my awning was covered under my trailer's insurance -- only cost me the deductible. And for those of you with high deductibles, you might want to check to see how little it costs to lower it. You might be pleasantly surprised.
