Homeschool Project need help?

Postby jemek » Mon Mar 01, 2010 2:12 pm

I was wondering. We are going to have K our special needs DD start a postcard book.
We have a start of one thanks to Ali and Ron, but as their trip was cut short and they returned home. It kinda ended.

I would love to start it up again. What we do is when she gets a postcard in the mail, we find the location on our map (if it is state postcard we mark the capitol).
The we go on the computer and read about the postcard. So it it has an animal on it..we look up that animal.

So if you would be willing to mail out a postcard...we would appreciate it. This will be ongoing project..so when we get postcards we will pull out he book she is starting.

The layout will be postcard on one side and we will print out a few of the details we find and put it on the other side.

Just send me a private message and I will pass along our mail address.

What a fun idea for K...I am sure she will like getting her own personal mail. I plan on sending her some postcards from our carnival travels.

I'll try to find an Adirondack postcard----do they still make such things?!! When it's in my hand, I'll ask for your address! That sounds like a neat project!

I'm sure I can find one of the Big Stone Faces (Mt. Rushmore), the Badlands, or the World's largest bird feeder (The Corn Palace)....like Soos...I'll ask for the address when I have one in hand. We did this for another forum member's class a couple of years ago!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

PM me your address.

Let me know if this will be ongoing. Cuz I'll make sure to get one from AK when I get back there, if so.

This really sounds like a fun project for your dd. We did a similar thing for a cousin who was housebound a lot due to illness as a kid. She loved getting mail and looked forward to mail every week. Count me in on the project, I'll PM you when I get some postcards. Linda
