WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES!

A few pics I took today both before school, when the snow was stuck like sprayed-on heavy styrofaom to all the trees that were bowing to the ground, and after school when I had been plowed out and the snow had been blown off the trees. BUT----it's still snowing!

Image
Lilac bush this morning.

Image
Driveway area with heavy, wet snow stuck to EVERYTHING! Wind was howling, but snow was sticking through it all!

Image
Back yard with truck after school today.

Image
Snowbanks by old apple tree this afternoon after school.

Image
Old basketball standard this afternoon-----easy dunking here!.

Image
Same view as yesterday, but a day later----after school this afternoon. All the snow has fallen off the trees, thank heavens, except for my poor lilacs!

It's still snowing out there, and the wind has died down a bit, but is still blowing hard. Again, Saranac lake was NOTHING like it was out here this morning! All the buses out our way were very late getting to school, despite the hour delay!

Lots of celebration today for Bill Demong----he was also chosen to be the one to carry the flag for the closing ceremonies! Sigh! Glorious celebrations!

Soos, do you have a tractor to push all that snow out of the way or does someone come do it for you?

Don't know what I am doing wrong, but I am not getting any pictures. Never mind, they finally came through. Beautiful pics, but glad they are at your place and not mine.

To answer a couple of questions: I get plowed out by my ex husband with whom I have not lived for over 15 years, but he has a house next door, through the woods, and has a big Ford truck with a great plow rig. (He actually no longer even lives next door, but lives with his latest bimbo in Lake Placid.) We used to do it with a tractor and its dump bucket----it would take HOURS to move the snow around enough to get in and out of here! While Daddy was at work, Mommy would man the tractor to open up the driveway, while juggling a baby in a backpack and a kid on my lap! I earned my plowing that I get now!

And my camera is a Fujifilm Finepix---8.3 megapixels with a 4X zoom. I have several cameras, but this one holds a charge the longest, is the smallest for carrying around, easy to operate. However, my one regret is that it does not have a look-through lens finder....just the LCD screen. If I ever replace this camera, I will get one with a look-through lens finder. My older Kodak digital camera with far fewer megapixel ability would still be my choice if it weren't so big---not a pocket camera! For now, I will stick with this one.

It's overcast today, but not snowing at the moment. After coffee, I will attempt a ski run around my trail loops.

Happy Saturday to all!

Soos
Your place and the photos of the snow continue to amaze me. Thank you for taking the time to share them. It is so beautiful but I must admit I'm glad not to be there in winter.
My digital camera does not have a view finder either. Like you, if I ever have to replace it I want one with a view finder.
