I have noticed in recent years that more and more funerals and memorial services are becoming celebrations rather than sad, grieving services. People are now invited to come up randomly to share their stories about the person who passed and some are sad but there is usually a lot of laughter too. I wanted that for my mom's funeral, so the eulogy (sp) I gave was all about her goofy habits, fun vacations with her, her great sense of humor and all the good times we had together. Made everyone laugh (and cry a little too). I still miss her terribly, but when I think of her, it is of the great memories and fun times, which makes me smile! That is the way she would want it to be.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
