GOOD MORNING ALL!

It's about 18 degrees out there, and sounds calm. I had some wild dreams all night long----probably a result of my meeting with a new student today, as I am apprehensive of what will happen to our room now. At one point I was taking a bath, and when I added more hot water, tons of plants, spongy things, dirt, leaves, salamanders, leeches, chunks of outdoor things came rushing into the tub through the faucet! ACK! Not a really fun bath!

It was neat to see bad-boy Bode Miller win his first gold medal yesterday! I believe he really has changed since becoming a daddy and adding a few years in age! He's only a year older than my son, and they are similar souls, I feel!

All in all, our athletes all had a good day yesterday, with Tim Burke finishing 11th, I believe, in the Biathlon. He fell behind this time due to shooting errors, but skied a wickedly fast race. That new ski-cross skied on the board-cross site is fun to watch!

I told you I lived in another climate, Cedar! We have even more snow on this side of the mountain than Lake Placid has! It is still the dead of winter over here.....we got another 5 inches this weekend, perhaps even more, as I got plowed on Saturday and when Molly and I went out to play yesterday afternoon, it was over my boots where it had been down to the driveway ice. The good thing is the temperatures have finally moderated----it hasn't been below zero in a while now.

Coffee is hot and tastes very good.....stop in and let us know what's up in your life! I am still looking for Echo and Kellie to check in!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good Morning!

The North Country is celebrating one of our own who has won a Bronze medal,... Andrew Weibrecht (might not have spelled that last name correctly). I was in Lake Placid yesterday and there were signs around town cheering him on. Our local athletes have done very well when you consider that between the gold medal time and someone who comes in 35th might only be a second or two! I was fun being in town yesterday just 30 years after we won our "miracle on ice" hockey game. The Empire Games were in town and many tourists as always this time of year. After coffee and conversation at Starbucks with friends it was time for some grocery shopping and back home. A nice way to end this winter break vacation.

Back to school today, I'm sure once I am there and with the kids I'll be glad. They add so much to my life. As with any vacation I always feel like I didn't get everything done that I wanted to do. (like filing my taxes).

OK,.... time to get rolling here,.... have a good day everyone!

Another warm day here, but rain expected later this afternoon....and winter's coming back by week's end. Ugh.

I did get outside and clear some more of the brush and jungle from my back yard fence area. It'll look nice for awhile but grow back over the summer while I'm gone. Felt good to be able to work outside without being cold.

Camping this weekend near Orlando....hope it won't be quite as cold there as it is expected to be here. This is my "free" camping weekend at a Thousand Trails resort....they'll want to sell me a membership, but I'll let them know that's not my kind of camping typically. They're also giving me a $50 Walmart card that'll pay for my gas. My friend Joselyn (some of you met her at the FL gtg) is coming & her cat, so we can practice with all the pets together, as we'll be traveling together this summer. So far the 2 cats are "hissing cousins."

Laundering all the dog beds today...which means Roe gets a bath too. Nothing else much planned.

Spent most of the day filing through the back log of paper and documentation sitting on top of my desk. Had to catch up with logging in on my budget. Glup. Paying bills and noting expenses coming due. Just where does it go? Looks as if the lap top replacement won't be coming as soon as I wanted......but I did have enough for another surprise $550 heating fuel bill.

I did go outside (it actually got up past 40 degrees) long enough to walk through the slushy snow and begin to pick up the doggy piles from the last two weeks. The dogs were completely soaked running through the slush trying to get me interested in playing with them. I got most of the poo that had been revealed but will need to go back out after the complete thaw and tackle what is still under snow... As it was my feet were numb enough. Everything is just so wet and sloppy, yuck or ACK as the saying goes!

Will probably head out to take Herschel and Remi to visit their friends tomorrow and go from there to run some errands. I am thinking I need to cook up some pasta and a healthy veg and get my dinner going. I will end up sitting and watching the Olympics with doggy snuggles later on......

I definitely know why all those snowbirds stay south until late March....this Feb weather does not lead itself to outside activities and sunshine...
