WARMER WEDNESDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

WARMER WEDNESDAY

Postby Nasoosie » Wed Feb 17, 2010 5:07 am

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

It's a warm one today at +19 F.. I don't see any new snow as yet, and haven't heard the weather forecast yet, but I do hope we get some new snow. Winter weather with no snow is no fun at all!

The head teacher was absent from my room yesterday, and they weren't able to get a sub for him. That made my and Colleen's day doubly difficult. One saving grace was that my comatose girl was absent, too. She will be so far behind now when she gets back.

I watched men's figure skating off and on all night long, and the women's snowboard scramble, or whatever they are calling it. I felt sorry for Jacobelli who got off-balance and missed a gate, thus getting eliminated. Lots of joy and lots of agony always in the Olympic Games. Our local athletes are having a tough time, even though they have won many world title firsts this year. I think that just to be a contestant is an honor of which to be hugely proud.

I was cold after supper last night, climbed into my nice warm bed, and fell asleep around 6:30! I cannot WAIT for the cold to ease up. Each year I seem to get colder and colder and more and more miserable----I guess that's how we die-----we cool off slowly! ACK!

Coffee is hot, so stop by and tell us about your day. I think some in the south are still getting all the snow I wish we were getting, and I have a feeling you all are tired of that! Will look forward to reading your posts when I get home this afternoon.

If I had to deal with those northern winters I would die of cabin fever. It is suppose to be in the 70's this weekend. Woo Hoo, where's my shorts. Guess I am going to have to go to Wal-Mart today because I gave the cats the last of their food. I figured their bowl was empty this morning when they were so happy when I got up.

Good Morning All - talked to our house sitter yesterday and there is a foot of snow at the place in Indiana and it was still snowing and expected to continue snowing - she also says it is very cold - very unusual for this time of year.......
We are just north of Puerta Vallarta - the beach is about a block away. Yesterday it was in the mid 80s with 150% humidity - Well it felt like that to me. Last night it poured - now it is cooler and sticky.
Still can't get our satellite working - The Driver says it is the most expensive piece of S#%T we have ever owned - I'm begining to agree. As soon as we get someplace where we have phone service I'll try once more to get it up and running - otherwise we'll have to wait until we reach the states. GRRRRR
Went into PV yesterday and walked around - Had McDonalds for lunch - every once in awhile its nice to have good old American fast food.
Going to post some pictures of the Huichol bead art as soon as I get them downloaded - it is magnificent beyond words!
Try to stay warm and have safe travels -

Hi travel pals! It's another warm day here on the west coast too, mid 60s. Today I'm taking a ride to photograph local barns. It makes me sad to see these old beauties that have been always been a part of my life to be falling down. They are just so old and people are not using them or maintaining. One of my favorites burned down a couple years ago. We all grieved as if for an old friend. My auntie (83) has been struggling with sciatic problem for a week or so, but yay!, she has agreed to go with me today. It will be good for her to get out!

Oh no! just saw Lindsey fall on SnowBoard Cross! Soos, I'm just catching up on the figure skaters, recorded from last night. They are amazing.

Have a fun day everyone!!!

Good morning everyone! Still busy helping my housemate move, borrowed my DiL's truck this a.m. for a load of things for my grandsons.

Actually Martha I'm busier during the winter than I am during the summer. There is so much going on every weekend. I'm actually looking for a reason to stay home and hibernate for a while!

Hope everyone is enjoying this day no matter where you are!

Morning..to no rain...they say we have a sunny days ahead. Which might be nice for the olympics..maybe we will get sunny days and cooler temps and they can go and make some more snow. It has been so warm here this winter....It feels like we went from fall right to spring and skipped winter. Some people have liked it. Me not so much..I really love all 4 seasons. I like seeing the snow and frost and that early morning chill.

I am almost recovered from skiing on Monday...the shoulders are still a bit sore along with the calf muscles. I do need to find some exercises that will help in those areas...I did read on line there is hard to train and exercise for downhill skiing, as there is really not a way to do it, there are just certain things that can only be done while doing the actual skiing.

I am thinking I might have to head to the trailer this week and start looking at getting it ready. We have to still get the window replaced. It is covered up with card board/duct tape/plastic at this point. Since the entire window will need replaced and not just the glass we opted to wait until it goes in for it's spring inpsection. Then hopefully it doesn't take them long. The RV place we bought it from...has closed... So I guess we might take it to Camping World.

Soos maybe you could move to the other side of the mountain where Cedar is where you could get out more. Sorry if I have the wrong impression but sounds like you are just out there in the middle of no where and it takes all of your time & energy just to keep from literally freezing. When you were 20 that was ok but older bones don't take to cold as you seem to be finding out.

It is warmer 30's here today and we actually have SUN!!

I heard it was 34 degrees here yesterday! I worked at both jobs all day yesterday so I didn't have time to notice. Today is around 32 and sunny, and I only worked an hour this morning (really have to find another job soon!) so just laying around today. I opened up the sliders to the porch and it is so nice to hear the birds singing! It almost feels like spring! (If you don't look at all the snow!) Altho, sitting out on the porch, I discovered that the ferrets have been using my new indoor/outdoor carpet as a litter box :o . So I guess I will have to replace that in the spring since it smells awful! Luckily, that doesn't cost too much and is easy to switch out. The little guys are now 86'd from the porch! Bad boys!

I am throwing around the idea of moving out to California at the end of the summer. I have been wanting to move back there for a long time. (somewhere around Palm Springs). I just have to get my financial ducks in a row and then see if I can find a job (looking into Great Clips salons, since I worked for them for a long time and there are a ton of them out there). I would have to find a home for the ferrets since they are illegal to own out there, but I have a friend (with ferrets) in Denver who would probably take them. My lease is up at the end of July, so I would move out there then, if I go. I wouldn't take much with me, and probably just rent a room in a private home for awhile. That's what I did when I moved out there before.

Now gotta do laundry and finish my taxes!

Moxy and Buster banned from CA????? How unfair is that!

Other than having to give them up, I can see that moving back there might be a good thing for you-----certainly weather-wise, anyway! But how heart-wrenching to leave your buddies behind!

It would be tough to not have them with me, but my friend in Denver is wonderful with ferrets and they would have a great time with her other ferrets! I would get lots of updates on how they are doing as well.
