What did you do......

Postby mtngal » Mon Feb 15, 2010 1:24 pm

to take care of yourself today? I loved the 'health' thread (thanks Mitch) and am thinking it might be fun AND inspiring to others to say out loud what we each are doing TODAY to take care (love) ourselves.

For me, it's getting out in the sunshine for a long hike with a friend who I haven't seen for several months. Also, keeping to my food plan,
one day at a time! :)

Oh, one more thing....coming up to the coffee shop to catch up on posts.

I told myself not to feel guilty for not vacuuming with the big vacuum until I get myself all straightened out.

Excellent idea...then I realized that I hadn't really done anything TODAY towards better health...wait! I just ate an apple...whew, maybe I can add to that later this afternoon.....

I will eat three reasonable meals today with nothing (except water & coffee) in between.

I went to my friend Issy's for brunch----what she called by some weird name I can't remember, but it was whole wheat bread dipped into eggs like French toast, that white, tasteless kind of cheese I can't recall the name of that goes on pizza, some lean ham slices, all fried greaseless in a non-stick pan. ACK! I told her it was wonderful, as it is so good to have her back in the area! I miss her as she and I were so close for so many years when my kids were young.

Then I went to town and checked out Ford 150 trucks. No comment here yet.

Then I played in the yard with Molly and her ball, shoveled out the woodpiles and carried in about 24 large firewood logs. Then carried laundry to basement, put into washer, carried garbage bag to cellar and put into covered container. I also checked on the trailer to make sure the electricity is still plugged in and running out there. I get SOOOOO anxious to move back in there when I go in! It is colder inside that trailer today than it is outside, so I left the door open while I got the firewood. Still have to transfer laundry to dryer and carry it back up here to fold and put away.

In the meantime, I have eaten nothing else since Issy's weird thingy, but am now having my afternoon Habub drink of Silk soymilk Very Vanilla, a shot of vodka, and topped with nutmeg! (A cholesterol-free eggnog!)

I also need to take my two prescription meds for high blood presssure and high cholesterol, and I will have completed my 'must dos' for health for the day!

All is good here, and I am WARM today, for the first time in several days!

It LOOKED just like that, Mitch, but that name doesn't ring a bell! (Of course, my bells don't always ring, anyway!)

Is this what we did to be healthy? If so - I'm in trouble. But I did NOT buy the brownies that I wanted - well, didn't want them today as the homemade ones today were too hard - so I got banana bread instead. I bet the banana bread isn't as healthy as the brownies :)

Walked the beach long this morning - changed to a different beach later in the morning and have walked this one (shorter beach area) twice so far. And have come here cuz I can get online easier here - and that's good for me. (Maybe not as good for all of you - as now I'll spend a couple minutes reading posts).

Well, it's too late for me today. Had 2 bowls of potato bacon chowder (lunch and dinner), one chocolate chip/M&M cookie after lunch, 3 pieces of Melt Away mint chocolate pieces, and a dozen mini chocolate chip cookies and a glass of milk tonight. I guess there is always tomorrow to do better! Oh, the only excersize today was dusting shelves and mopping the floor at the salon. Was just thinking today that I really need to start eating better and getting some exercize to get rid of some flab on my tummy and thighs before spring. Better start tomorrow!
