Okay, took a look at the calender today and have come up with 3 different time frames....I stayed away from the 4th of July cause it's a zoo around Gettysburg with all the hoopla around the anniversary of the Battle.....so here's my suggestions.....and then we'll go with the most popular dates....also maybe this will help those sitting on the fence about coming, too...
June 21-27, 2010 July 19-25, 2010 August 2-9, 2010
All are 7 days, but as always, if you can't stay the full week, that's okay....we'll enjoy your company for how ever long you can stay....
The Sultan is our tour guide for Gettysburg....he's quite informative...ask Tina & Peggy.. ...Will reserve a block of sites as soon as I have a count here...
I might be intersted in this - I love Gettysburg and would love to meet Vicki and Mitch. Can't commit definitely yet cos I have to try and find some kind of a job this spring to earn $$
My vote is for August! But will go whenever is the most popular date. June 20th is Father's Day, so I would prefer to be home for that so we can spend the day with our Dad's.
Sorry that I don't read all the different subject areas on a regular basis. I was wondering about the PA GTG, and left a note to Lori on a General Forum response. The June and July dates will work for me, but the August dates won't. August is filled and I will be out of the country from Aug 25th until Sept 15th. I would love to meet Mitch and Vickie, so I hope we can work something out.
Shirl is camping in Sept 23-26. Is the following week too late for Lori and Ernie? Will you be leaving Oct 1st?
I agree with Tina that the sites by the little river were beautiful and quiet. The bathroom facilities were nearby and were very clean. The surrounding area is filled with orchards; another reason to go later in Sept. I brought home a hugh bag of apples for $12.00.
Hope we can work something out, so we can all be together.
Well poo. Soo's RUCKUS in the Mtns GTG is already set for Aug 4-9, and I've already planned to aim for there if I can. I'll make a PA gtg some day, I will. Perhaps I might make a stop on my way on the 2nd-3rd....that's a possibility....too soon to know for sure.
Okay, so far folks are liking Aug. or July....How's the week of July 25 -31st??? Which is the week between the 2 I listed before....I didn't want to expose everyone to the crazy traffic of the local county fair in mid Aug. cause the route (PA234) is a country road....and it's awful for RVs then...And we are planning a trip to my middle sister's in Wyoming, with my sister who was injured in the farm accident, in Sept. before we have to be back here in GA on Oct. 1st.....So let me know if that is a good week for all...and I'll go from there.....
I'm thinking it will be Lori & Ernie, Mitch & G, Me and Ronnie, Paulette, Tina(?), Carolyn(?), Brewsterivy, Shirlv, PeggyinCT, Liz(?), Kelpie(?) that's 14 people if everyone can make it!
Lori, it's not too late to change your mind and head for the hills! Are you really, really sure you want to have us all up there?
I can make most of the July 25 to the 31st week. Have to leave a little early as I promised to go to a Red Sox game on the 31st. Really looking forward to the GTG.
Much is up in the air for summer plans. I have to figure out my budget, depending upon how much work I have this spring....and as last year...the health of the 88 yr old at the time......Will keep the dates in mind. Am also really wanting to go to my cousin's family gathering near Annapolis, MD around the weekend of the 4th. They have a large family and because the two sisters were close when we were young...we spent many summers together in Rockford, IL and at my grandfather's cottage at Leaf River.
Tina and the furry companions...Lark, Audrey and Jane
Well, poo, I'm going to be in the upper NY area during that period and won't make it to PA until Oct 17 so I won't make it this time but one of these days I will. Now I need to hear about the Ruckus in the Mtns. That sounds like a do.
