Meetin forum sisters

Postby kelpie » Sat Feb 06, 2010 4:48 pm

Ladies, I will be leaving my beloved TX gulf coast on the 18th and heading east. My planned route (right now, as always, subject to change) is up to Galveston Island for one night, somewhere around Lafayett LA for one night, Gautier MS a state park for one night (don't really need to stop there but want to add MS to my map) then Gulf shore AL for about a week. Then to Panama city FL for about another week. Are there any forum sisters near any of these places around these dates that would like to meet? Especially AL and FL since I will be at each of those for a week. After that, I'm heading to Savannah to see Lori and Ernie but I love meeting forum sisters.

Acadianmom is near Lafayette. Check out the members list. It's a great resource. Glad to see you're having fun and enjoying your travels. I'm in Sarasota, FL so not near where you're traveling. carold

I live about 40 miles south of Lafayette, LA but I'm in Philadelphia right now. I think I will be back on the 13th. If I am home when you are there I would like to meet you. I even have electric and water hookup's at my house if you want to stay there. I will let you know if I will be home before you leave Texas.

Kelpie, I'm about an hour and a half before you get to Lafayette if you're coming across on I-10. Unfortunately one of my friends is moving to TX, her last day of work is the 19th and I will be helping her to load up a U-Haul truck for the next few days after that. I was hoping to at least be able to meet you for a break in your drive, but looks like that's not gonna happen. Maybe next time you come through!

Kellie, when you make it on the road and come through Lake Charles, stay on I-10, don't take the 210 Loop. It is under construction and down to one lane sections each way. As one section is completed, they will move to the next section, so anyone traveling this way, it should take them a year to 18 months to complete, they say.

Kellie was here last night and left this morning heading East. She put my address in her GPS and it brought her through Port Arthur and along Hwy 82 on the coast. She took the scenic route. lol Glad she got here before dark. That's not a road I would want to be on in the dark.

I wouldn't want to drive that road at night either, not since the hurricanes came through there, the shoulders are either not there or full of holes. I didn't know she was hitting the road already. Oh, well, the info is there for Liz or anyone traveling this way to the TX GTG.
