Need help, suggestions, comments

:?: Hi ladies, I'm planning my travel plans for the last week in July - October. I am going north toward Niagara Falls, Adirondack Mtns, New Hampshire, Vermont, etc and have to be in Lancaster PA by October 17. So what I'm asking from you all is for suggestions on what are things I CANNOT miss seeing, do you know some good campgrounds (Ive already decided to stay in Four Mile Creek State Park close to the falls) and any suggestions you may have for me. Any destination suggestion in that neck of the woods will be considered, as I said, I'm just now planning. Once I get some dates finalized, I'll contact some of you fine ladies and hopefully we can have some mini gtgs or large ones. :?:

Have you got a passport?? I hope so cause unless there have been some huge major changes there isn't squat on the American side of the falls. Why? Have no idea why the US has never done much of anything on our side of the falls. Now Canada? There are tons of things to see and do on the other side of the bridge. Shops, some museums, restaurants and even Sea World on the Canadian side. The US has got the 'Maid of the Mist' boat ride that takes ya close to the base of the falls.

Now it's been years and years since I've gone to Niagara Falls as a tourist so just maybe things have changed and they're better on this side? At least we can hope. :D

If your going up into VT, NH and ME? Take some skeeter spray with you!!! Especially NH, those blood thirsty &^#%^$'s can and will drain ya dry. Or carry ya home to the family for dinner!!! NH was the first time I saw the T-shirt that claimed the mosquito as a state bird!! They're monsters. :o

OK! first.... don't miss connecting with us when you are in the 'daks!

Where to stay,... don't miss Coles Creek (NY state campground) near Waddington/Massena NY. It's right on the St.Lawrence River and you can watch the freighters go by your campsite.

You might be interested in the 1932 and 1980 winter olympic sites in Lake Placid, NY.

No, I won't be at the Alburg bluegrass festival. I didn't especially care for that one, (very expensive, no shade tents provided with the exception of one small one -- people have to provide their own EZups.) but there are several other festivals that I'll be at.

I do expect to go to Tunbridge on that Saturday. Tunbridge World's Fair.

Safe traveling! And,.... see you this summer! :D

I'm going to say - other than major things - QUIT planning - and just get there and go see - and go see - and go see some more.

I spent a summer workamping in NH so I could visit the area. It's gorgeous. Vermont has a great tourism guide - pick it up and go. There are neat mansions to visit - and all kinds of great trips. In NH, don't miss driving all around the White Mountains. And you could take the trip on Squam Lake and see where On Golden Pond was filmed. Neat, beautiful lake - and the story is interesting. There is SO much to do - and you could just keep driving around.

As for ME - I agree about Acadia - it's gorgeous. But I also spent time boondocking there near the ocean. Unfortunately, I didn't keep coordinates, but online, if you go to the Maine site you can find all kinds of info on places free - like the BLM in the west, but this isn't BLM. Course, you can't be afraid to be in the middle of nowhere by yourself for these places.

Just enjoy. And ENJOY - and if you can make the gtg's at both Soos's and in PA - definitely those I'd try to do.

Have fun. And if you leave in OCT - you should get some great fall colors heading south. Think about taking the Skyline Drive, and Parkway through NC.

I would love to go visit someone out there!!! I love California! Used to live in Santa Barbara. Want to eventually live in Palm Springs area. I don't have an RV yet, but I do have a tent! Where do you live? I'll start making plans tonight! Can I get a ride on the Harley??

We went to Niagara Falls a few years ago. We were on the Canadian side and really enjoyed it. Rode the Maid of the Mist. I believe it was a KOA where we stayed and it was nice - you would like it. Convenient drive to the falls. And, if you go to the Casino at the falls, try and get my $20 back that I left there.
