Janice? When you ask them that and they stammer and stutter that no they aren't gay. Be sure to ask them, "Well what ever possessed you to think WE are"? ;)

LOL TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO funny. Cracking up reading some of the responses. Sparkle as always...you're a hoot! :) LOL
I'm with you Jenny - "and your point is?" Sheesh, people can be so nosey...mainly idle minds make for derelict chatter. I use to care/stress about what people say, now as I great each year anew I could care less. If they can't think of anything original to starte an opening communication process then I'd give them the, "excuse me? I'm sorry, what were you asking?" I'm of the belief, to each their own. Who cares so long as you are happy. I'm happily married, but can honestly say if anything were to happen to my current (#3), I would just as soon finish out this dance ticket on my own. Mainly due to what someone said earlier...just don't want to have to deal with taking care of someone. Been there, done that, won that T-shirt. Guess your roomie has no sense of style eh? Probably shouldn't matter at all what she wears, but is her frumpy choice due to any recent bouts of depression? Maybe you could recommend a "girls day out shopping spree" ;) Lots of great ideas for coments.

PER-fect! Thanks.

And Donna, that IS her sense of style. You've read about rabid sports fans (maybe even known a few)? Well, there you are. And she's not depressed. She's 69 years old, bright, funny and a unique character. I like her a lot and wouldn't presume to suggest she change one thing about herself.

Mae West quote?

Would that be, "Come up and see me sometime!"?

Nope. I just found a web site with Mae West quotes. What a hoot! I like this one (hadn't heard it before):

"A man in the house is worth two in the street."

OR:

"He's the kind of man a woman would have to marry to get rid of."

Remember the Seinfeld episode where someone (maybe a woman Jerry likes?) thinks he and George are an "item." He keeps telling her that he's not gay, but follows up every denial with "Not that there's anything wrong with that." Ahhhh, the best lines come from Seinfeld....

I think sometimes people try to place other people into a neatly labeled box. I've had boyfriends that way, trying to figure me out by asking me my favorite type of music, color, movie, animal, etc. It's easier to eliminate the mystery, then their brains don't have to work so hard.

I have a better one! Someone thought my sister and I were a couple. (EWWW).

Oh Amy that gave me a really good laugh! Someone once thought my oldest brother and I were a couple and twitted him on the obvious age diff (12yrs). My brother looked them dead in the eye and straight faced as a judge and said she's my baby sister. After the person got done blushing and about swallowing their tongue he then said, "But then again you know they do say, "Incest is best". That person about died from embarrassment. My brother was not quiet or discreet while he did this.

I have been married and divorced twice and the only use I have for a man is to repair something I can't. Being tall and addicted to Levis and sweatshirts, I am sure a lot of people probably think I am gay and I couldn't care less. However, being tall and addicted to Levis and sweatshirts plus having a "dangerous" demeanor, they are probably afraid to ask

I'm sure Beth will use that line at one campground or another.

On a side note. How do you just do the words or line that you want to quote? I highlight an area, but the whole quote comes up.

I click on quote, then highlight and click on delete the part that needs to be removed and you have what's left to post. Remember to leave the name of the person who you are quoting with their words or it could get real confusing if there were several people's quotes in one block.
