Love that dress!!! And of course she will be a vision on her wedding day. With the backdrop of that mansion it will be a fairy tale wedding.

Bet you can hardly wait until the day. Then you can sit and catch your breath! :D

A southern belle wedding! How romantic and special will that be!! Will she be walking down the stairs, or is it held outside? Inquiring minds want to know  It's not as though you have anything else to do but keep us up-to-date  carold

yes Carold, she will be walking up the aisle which runs between 250 + year old oak trees whose branches gracefully bow to the ground. She will be wed on the front porch of the mansion.

I will be glad when all the hoopla is over with and I can catch my breath. But then I have to come to terms with the fact that June 10th my only child will be moving to Seattle, Washington where Rob will be posted for the next 3 years. He has been assigned to the Polar Star, which is the largest ice cutter in the Coast Guard fleet. Only good thing is it is in dry dock and the refitting started last year and it is a 5 year job so barring a war or an invasion from the North Pole, he shouldn't have to ship out. But if he does, he will be gone for 6-8 months. Guess we will have to move up there to be with her so she isn't by herself. This is the only 2nd time she has moved away from us. First was to New Orleans (78 miles away) this one is 2,750+ miles away. We are all a little scared. Of course, Mama is bent out of shape.
Add to the stress of this marriage is the fact that my Jim retires next Thur. Feb. 11th, so am gonna have to juggle doing things with him . Already scheduled a shower so it falls between our two trips already planned to Toledo Bend. Lord, give me strengthl
I know some of yu are from the Seattle area, please PM me with any info you can about areas that they may not want to live in. We are flying blind here. Neither she or Rob have ever been to Seattle. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Your daughter is very pretty and she has chosen the perfect dress for her special day. Her hubby-to-be is quite handsome too. Good looking couple.
Enjoy the day.

Have only visited Seattle, so I have nothing to offer. How about other families stationed there. Isn't there some kind of information sharing thru the Coast Guard? One of the good things about being retired is that you have a flexible time and traveling schedule, so going to visit and spend time with your daughter and SIL will be a lot easier. carold

That is an amazing dress, and your daughter is beautiful -- looks so much like her mama!

Thank all of you my friends.
You know how when you hear people say, you will know that it is the right one when you see it? Well, that is how I felt about Candi's dress. The first time I saw her in it, my heart migrated to my throat and I started crying. Now you aren't gonna believe this, but it was in the first group of dresses we tried on. Even after she tried it on, and I knew, we continued to try on different styles to be sure that it was the one we wanted. But we always come back to it. So, we bought it. Some of yu may remember that right after that she won a beautiful gown (price tag still on it) designer gown $4,000.00. We let her daddy decide which one he liked better. Thankfully he agreed with us, we liked the first one we had chosen. She has the other one up for sale.
