Vickie, they're the Imerial Sand Dunes in the SE corner of the state, about 20 miles west of Yuma. We were at Gordon's Wells this time. Your RZR would do just fine there, so pack up and come on out, ya hear??? Here's a picture of what's called running a bowl, and that's what we do. You just get started up, run the top of the bowl and then flip over into the next bowl. Yeehaw!!

Oh, Vickie - THANK GOODNESS you've finally come out of your delusional fog and realized the stark truth about yourself. We'll all help you through the rough parts...stay strong, Sister.

Sorry, Vickie, but:

Sharon, when you say "flip over into the next bowl" do you mean that literally, you flip, as in roll it? I'm thinking not, but just wanted to make sure, lol.

Ronnie's on the Rzr Forum right now trying to sell his extra set of tires and wheels and his Looney Tunes dual exhaust I put on there, so that he can put some money back in it. Getting it ready to ride again after setting up most of last year.

You've certainly been one busy busy busy lady GF. Man seeing all that sand makes me wanna go out in the garage and get my quad revved up and ready to rock n roll. We didn't get our Thanksgiving day desert fix. :( Paid the durned $90 year pass and haven't gone once! We made ignored cardinal rule #1 in storing equipment...we didn't put stabil in the fuel and since we didn't regularly start them, now we can't get them to start. :(
Great pics of Sammy and Chewey....especially the one on the couch. That's a keeper.

Naw Vickie, I've been accused of a lot of things, but suicidal isn't one of them! You just kind of go over the top edge at an angle and run the next bowl. Here's a video of some RZR's doing that. We usually run about 40MPH thru the dunes. Surely there are some sand dunes within driving distance for you guys? Very few places I've been that there aren't some around. Even found them in Canada and Wyoming!

Only made that mistake once in my quad.....cost me about 400 dollars at the shop to get it fixed! Lesson learned! 'Course that sweet hubby of yours can probably do it himself. Wish I had known that you weren't gonna use your sand pass, I would have bought it from you. I'm really hoping we'll get out at least once more this year, but since we're going to Moab in April doubt it. Maybe I can talk the BF into going in March. Don't think we have anything else going on and if we go thru the week we can go to 'Glamis, not as far as Gordon Wells.

WOW! Now that's something I would love to do! Very much like snowmobiling with sand and 4-wheelers! Those dunes seem to go on forever out there! There is nothing like that place out east here. I priced the RZR I wanted, and, unfortunately, it cost more than a KIA!

Guess I won't be getting one of those. I will be looking for a replacement for my Isuzu Sidekick, used one in good shape, if it turns out that the kids blew the motor on it at Christmas time. I miss seeing it parked out with the trailer, as it's stuck on one of the trails and will have to wait for spring to haul it back here.

Happy travels!

Yeah Soos, they're pricy, but like I told my kids, when I pass on there probably won't be any money left, but lots of toys for you to sell! Come on out anytime between Oct and April and I'll be more than happy to take you for a ride! Might even let you drive it! :o

Wow! What a ride! Like being on a roller coaster! Looks like fun tho! Are you covered in sand afterwards?

You do take us on some great adventures, Sharon. Thanks for posting the pics. Love the sky/sand/motortoy contrasts.

Hey Sharon if you get back over by Yuma before we leave here in April let us know. We could take a run down and finally get a chance at meeting up.

Still have to get down there to meet Jenny and Dan. Plus visit another couple that we worked with at the lodge! Hmmm, got to give them a call and see how they're doing.

Sometimes.....just depends on wind or who I'm following, but it's "clean"....you just shake it out and brush it off, it doesn't really stick to you. I always wear a hat or do-rag to keep it out of my hair. BF has big paddle tires on his jeep and kicks up a lot of sand, so I try and stay back from him a bit. But I wear sand goggles to keep the sand out of my eyes and a scarf around my lower face so I don't eat it. Guess that sounds horrible, but it's not really.

I've been there in April and it's already in the 90's. By May it's in the 90's and up to over a 100 by June. It's pretty miserable there that time of year. That's everyone else's opinion, me, I love the heat! :D
