Finally!

Well I've finally gotten off my butt and sized pictures and got them loaded on PB, so join me in a short journey of what I've been doing for the last few months.

After I left the Tn GTG, I moved east for a few days to do some more sightseeing in Nashville. No pictures, tho. Then I moved a few miles west because I had passed the Loretta Lynn museum 3 times and had made up my mind that this time I was gonna stop and see it. Decided to stay at the KOA instead of their CG as I didn't know what it was like. Glad I did, it was muddy and hilly there.

Loretta's house. It was built in the 1800's. She no longer lives there, she's built a house behind it and opened up the old one for tours. No pictures allowed inside.



This is a replica of the house she grew up in, in Butcher Hollar:


And of course I had to eat at the Loretta Lynn cafe, I thought it was good, buffet with lots of vegetables!

Wasn't sure if I could get all of the pictures posted w/o timing out, so here's some more.

A rare moment of domestic peace. Only one other similar photo was known to exist, but it was lost in the great computer crash of 2009:



Guess who's home?? Yay! Boy were the twins, Mr. Sun and cuz Mitt glad to be home after that harrowing trip in an envelope!



Back home in time to take a bike ride to Hoover Dam to see the new bridge that's being built. Mr. Sun and cuz Mitt declined, said they had had enough traveling to last a while. The twins, as uaual, jumped at the chance for a new adventure! Here is their limousine:

Unfortunately, they didn't realize that they had to ride in the luggage. They weren't happy and proved it by sulking on the bed in the hotel:

Really having a hard time here, so bear with me. For some reason after a few pictures the bottom of the post keeps jumping up and I can't see what I've typed. So where were we....oh yeah, Hoover Dam. This is the new by-pass bridge that is being built. No trucks have been allowed across Hoover Bridge since 9-11, altho rv's are allowed after an extensive search. Been there, done that, but since we were on motorcycles, no problem, we were just waved across. The pictures aren't great because (a), I was on a motorcycle and (b) the sun was behind it. It was well worth the trip to see it, it's an engineering marvel!





And meet Peewee, the newest addition to the family of toys. He's a Polaris RZR-S, ready for the sand!



These dunes don't look big, but trust me, the one I was playing on was huge! BF isn't a good picture taker, but in all fairness to him, it's hard to take a good pix in the sand and show the actual vastness of it!

Loved Sam's bird's eye view from the front. And the Twins, what can I say.....They have such enthusiasm for life. It does seem as if they are always trying to push the limits. But they do give a hundred percent and have learned to appreciate a good thing, well after a sulk or two. Can't blame them for trying..

Yeah, Tina, they're really good sports! They went for a ride on the RZR, but I didn't get a pix of it. They're going to Johnson Valley next week for the "King of the Hammers" race. Gonna try and talk Mr. S and cuz Mitt into going, too. Peewee's going, too, there's a small sand dune and we figured we could use Peewee to get in a good spot to see some of the action.

Kool pics Sharon. Glad you took the twins along, I know young'ins can be a pain but they do add to the fun too. Shame Coz Mitt and Mr S wouldn't go.

Looks like you were having a great fun time at playing, 'er working. Yeah that's it, working!!!

Thanks for the pics! I've been following news of that bridge on the internet. It looks amazing. I wonder if I'd be brave enough to to over it when it's done. I have a wicked fear of heights. Even in a movie I get physical reactions to heights. I always marvel at the workers who build such things.

Playing in the sand looks like fun too!
