Barbie, remember the time you said, "If you ever need a place to stay, come visit." ?????

Okay, maybe not, but still.....

Barbie, I can't see the scale of the map, but you have to go all around the north side of the lake to get to work everyday? How far is that? And not that I would do it, but in the winter can you just take a short cut across? :D

There are actually bridges that go over the channels between a lot of the smaller bays so it doesn't take as long as you'd think. It takes me about 15 minutes to get to work. The drive is very scenic but the roads are real curvy so you have to pay attention so you don't drive into the lake! Last weekend I saw a group of people who had skis on and were being pulled around by large kites! Some of them even got lifted up into the air for a few moments. Really awesome to watch, but had to also keep my eyes on the road! I think a person could drive across the bigger part of the lake on the ice, but you can't drive a car thru the channels because the ice stays thin there from the current. Snowmobiles will actually skim across open water thru the channels to get to the next bay. Most of them make it, some of them don't. Most of those who go down, survive, some of them don't...

BEAUTIFUL view, Barbie! I LOVE seeing where others of us live! Your area is much like our north country here. I wish I had a lake view, but I guess my distant mountain view will have to do for the winter months.

Thanks so much for posting those pictures! I look forward to pics all the time.
