Toilet Seat

Toilet Seat

Postby Paulette » Wed Aug 20, 2008 3:05 pm

General question here...my toilet seat has started to come loose and I know that you have to tighten the screws on the back of it. But how in the billy blue blazes are ya supposed to be able to get behind the commode to hold the nut in place while you tighten the screws????? :? The commode backs up to the wall...there is NO ROOM! Bet that was designed by a man...(sorry, nothing personal guys who read this forum).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

A couple summers ago I had to have someone come out when I had water leaking from my toilet (the clean water, thank God). Anyway, when the man had the toilet out to replace the seal, he made a comment that he tightened everything for me - saying some of it in those confined places can't be tightened any other time.

So, I hate to say this, but it's possible you'll need to take the potty out to tighten the top good enough. Just a thought.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but I got my dd to help me with some cleaning behind the toilet. I know you may not be able to get them as tight, but it would be better than nothing I guess. Its a thought :) Good luck!

Yeah Beth, that's what I was afraid of! What a poor design!
