Sparkle, I was hoping that you and Beth were just too busy to write lately----had no idea you've been sick. I would literally panic if I got sick in another country! You were very brave to go to someone, but I guess whatever they did seems to be working to get you to feel better. Be sure you let things heal before you go out trekking around, however.

Then I read Beth's post about being 'trapped' in Baja, and, if I were there, I would REALLY panic! I have often thought about both the Baja Peninsula and the FL keys as being a claustrophobe's nightmare in case of storm damage! I would find it VERY difficult to stay calm and enjoy the vacation if I were trapped!

Please stay in touch as often as you are able, and let us know any updates on what's up in the boonies!

Happy travels!

Sure hope you're feeling much better by now,Sparkle.
Your description,"with TEETH" made me cringe.
Looks like you all are having a great time down there.
Looking forward to more post, when you're well.

Safe and Happy travels,
Carol

Another piece of advise from "dr. A".
FOr a bladder "inflammation"... ibuprofen is good,, it's an anti-inflammatory. But if you have a true INFECTION,, nothing will knock it except antibiotics! Don't let it recurr,,or run on,,, as that can be serious and go on into your kidneys,, and that is NOTHING to fool around about. I know a lady that went into a coma and died in about 6 wks w/ nothing but a kidney infection, to start. She was 50.
Just saying.... better to be safe than sorry. ANd I know antibiotics are cheap, too!

Glad you're better ms sparkle! And equally glad you had the CHEAP doctorin' in Mexico. I envy that. I , too, need some dental work but the pocketbook won't allow it. Maybe someday I can get down there, too!
Ya'll have fun waiting out the bridge construction!

Janet, we had already bought her antibiotics - no prescription needed to do that here. Actually got those when we visited Algodones with Jenny - so, as you see, Soos and others, Sparkle already had this before we came to Mexico. She just doesn't like admitting to being sick.

There's no such thing in this day and age of really being stranded - there's always a way out somewhere. Well, almost always - those off the road (places we can't go with our rv's) can have it much harder when the washes wash out.

And the Dr she saw spoke perfect English - same training, etc - nothing to worry about there. The problem is when the language becomes a language barrier - but we've been able to work through that everywhere. Our pigeon Spanish and their pigeon English - and we get it done. Course, my pigeon Spanish got me that ice cream with coconuts in it :)

I sure am feeling different about Mexico since I've been reading ya'll's posts about it. I might even have to go down there,, that is if I don't have to go alone! I'd only go w/ an experienced 'guide'/. ;)

the adventurous side of me has been awakened, once again!!!! Thanks a BUNCH! :!:

Now that I know what I know....I would definately come back. On my own if necessary. The only part that would worry me is the long lonely stretches through the deserts and mountains where there is probably no cell service in case of a breakdown. It's definately a case of two's company! At the end of our trip Beth is going to do a wrap up post of what to bring and things to be aware of.
