Had to do a bit of shopping yesterday to get veggies for mom's hamburger stew. Went to the Ranch Market Chris suggested. (Thank you) Got water there for $.25/gal which was very cool! Less than a third of the cost to buy them in store and also no $.10crv fee. We walked around, looking at everything. Started in the produce section and I could NOT believe my eyes! Most of the fresh produce was unbelievably cheap!! Some of their stuff is overpriced but we can get that at evil*mart. Their ground beef is 80% lean and only $1.99/lb. That's cheaper and better than evil*mart's $2.23 and like 72%. They also charge no tax?? When Alma rang us up and gave me the total I thought she'd missed something. I asked her if that was right? She thought we were complaining about the price but we told her it was just the opposite. When we shop we always round things up to the nearest $.25 for tax and to make sure we have enough. So we were happy. It's good to know we can go there for water, bread ($.99), hamburger and veggies and not come out broke, lol! I want to do tacos or something soon so I will go back and get some hamburger there instead of evil*mart.
Dinner turned out pretty darned good. Mom had 3 bowls and there's enough left over for dinner tonite if we choose. I'm thinking tuna fish and onion sandwiches.
It was sunny out yesterday but not overly warm. I put a t-shirt on but never changed out of my sweats. It's sunny again today and supposed to be up to 66? Says it's 57 right now. Hmm. It's a bit breezy out there and the air is still a tad cool. Moved some things around in the screen house yesterday but not much else. The car is a disaster area, lol. I think I'll tackle that today. I told mom yesterday that I may just get rid of my suitcase. I have almost all of my clothes in 14gal totes and right now it's just taking up space. When we get back to the lodge I would like to see what we can get rid of. Take the good stuff to the huge thrift store in Utah and the rest will go to the dump. It will certainly help if we can get that enclosed trailer from Chris. And if we do our camping gear can go in it to keep it out of the elements while we're there.
Need to get some more crockpot recipes. Don't know if evil*mart will have any liners when we go tomorrow. I think we're gonna check Safeway and see what their prices are like. That's where I used to do my grocery shopping when I lived in Seattle. It was also the closest, other than Albertsons (Blythe's is rather expensive).
Yahooie! Decided to do some googling and found a Chase atm inside Albertsons. I'd looked for them when we first got there but it wasn't listed? So tomorrow we'll withdraw our money and be able to pay for our campsite and gas in cash. Mom and I just made a deal to lay away the canopy she saw at K-Mart Thursday. We've looked at evil*mart's website and they list no 12x12 canopies. If we find one there tomorrow by chance then we'll just cancel the K-Mart lay away. If not then we'll just make the payments.
